Montclair High School is a comprehensive four-year public high school located in Montclair, in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Montclair Public School District. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1928.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,998 students and 154.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.9:1. There were 249 students (12.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch, and 46 (2.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Van Vleck House and Gardens is a former private estate run as a non-profit community resource in Montclair in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. It features a public botanical garden of mostly ericaceous plants that has been developed over several generations. The display of rhododendrons and azaleas shows numerous hybrids, several named after members of the Van Vleck family. The property had been in the hands of the Van Vleck family until 1993 when it was turned over to The Montclair Foundation. The main house, built in 1916 by Joseph Van Vleck Jr. as a Mediterranean villa, is available for events by non-profit organizations. A Chinese wisteria that was planted in 1939 climbs around the pillars of the back portico.

Watchung Avenue (known as Park Street until April 1, 1919) is a New Jersey Transit station at the intersection of Watchung Avenue, Watchung Plaza, and Park Street in Montclair, New Jersey along the Montclair-Boonton Line. The Watchung Avenue station is on an elevated embankment between Watchung Plaza and Park Street. The outbound platform faces the plaza, while the inbound platform and the station house are on the Park Street side. The station house has a waiting room with a bathroom and a former post office and ticket booth. Service to and from this station is weekdays (Monday to Friday) only, with all service stopping at intermediate points.

The House that Lives is a historic house at 83 Watchung Avenue in Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1922 with Modern Movement and Tudor Revival elements. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.The house received its name from the Upper Montclair Women's Club, which exhibited the house during its "Better Homes Week" in June 1923.

Walnut Street (formerly known as Montclair) is a New Jersey Transit station on Walnut Street at Depot Square in Montclair, New Jersey along the Montclair-Boonton Line. It is the most used station on the Montclair–Boonton Line. Walnut Street is the second or fifth (depending the station of origin) of six stops that are in Montclair along the Montclair-Boonton line. It gets its name from the street that crosses the railroad tracks next to the station. It has a farmers' market in its parking lot from the summer to the early fall. The station house, built in 1953, has been leased out as a restaurant for many years. The most recent tenant to occupy the space, Mezoco Mexican Taqueria, opened in 2016.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 14, 1986, for its significance in architecture. The school operates under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1957.Immaculate Conception High School was established in 1925 as a parish school under the guidance of its founder, Rev. Edward M. Farrel. The Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth began their connection to the school with the appointment of Mother Mary Alexandrine as the school's first principal.Per its mission statement, Immaculate Conception High School "strives, within the context of family to develop the whole person: morally, intellectually, emotionally, and physically, recognizing the work and uniqueness of each individual". As of the 2013–14 school year, the school had an enrollment of 179 students and 24.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 7.3:1. The school's enrollment was 1.7% White, 78.2% Black, 17.9% Hispanic, 0.6% Asian and 1.7% two or more races.

Toney's Brook is a tributary of the Second River in Essex County, New Jersey in the United States. Generally thought to be named for Anthony Oliff, a resident of West Orange (Newark in his time), Toney's Brook originates in Montclair northwest of the Upper Montclair railway station (originally north of the Montclair Presby Iris Garden), now with two branches, east and west of the elevated railroad tracks at Bellevue. In Montclair it is joined by two tributary streams, both originally also called Toney's (one called Tunnel Brook, arising from the cliff near Claremont Ave.). In Montclair, Toney's Brook runs through Anderson Park, Edgemont Memorial Park, Montclair High School and Glenfield Park. In Glenfield Park, the brook continues southeast into Glen Ridge, where it flows through The Glen (the glen for which that borough is named). It then flows into Bloomfield and, in Watsessing Park, joins the Second River, a tributary of the Passaic River. Many roads have been built over the brook and in some places it is covered up completely, canalized or culvertised. In the 19th and early 20th century, Toney's Brook supported several mills, which produced lumber, beer, calico, brass fittings, and pasteboard boxes.
