Horsens

Horsens municipality is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Region Midtjylland on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality includes the island of Endelave, and covers an area of 515.2 km2. It has a population of 96,480 (2023). Its mayor is Peter Sørensen, a member of the Social Democratic party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the city of Horsens.

Forum Horsens is an indoor sports arena and music venue in Horsens, Denmark. It seats 4,000 spectators for sports events, and for concerts there can be 4,500 sitting or 5,000 standing. It is adjacent to the larger Forum Horsens Arena stadium.

Forum Horsens Arena, known as CASA Arena Horsens for sponsorship reasons, is a stadium in Horsens, Denmark. Used primarily for football, it is the home ground of AC Horsens and has a capacity of 10,400, of which 7,500 is seated. The stadium is also used for speedway and as a concert venue. The adjacent indoor venue is Forum Horsens. The Rolling Stones were the first band to play a concert at the stadium. On 29 March 2005, Irish vocal pop band Westlife held a concert for their The No 1's Tour supporting their album Allow Us to Be Frank. Madonna's concert in 2006 became the biggest concert in Horsens history with 85,232 fans in attendance. Recent concerts at the ground have included AC/DC in 2010 on the Black Ice World Tour, U2 in 2010 on the 360 Tour for 2 nights, Bon Jovi as part of the 2011 European leg of The Circle Tour and One Direction on 16 June 2015 during their On the Road Again Tour. In 2015 the Arena became the third venue to host the Speedway Grand Prix of Denmark. The company behind the reconstruction of Casa Arena Horsens was 3XN.

Horsens railway station (Danish: Horsens Station or Horsens Banegård) is a railway station serving the town of Horsens in East Jutland, Denmark.The station is located on the Fredericia-Aarhus railway line from Fredericia to Aarhus. It opened in 1868 and was moved to its current position in 1929. It offers direct InterCity services to Copenhagen, Hamburg, Aarhus and Aalborg as well as regional train services to Aarhus and Fredericia. The train services are operated by the railway company DSB.

Bygholm Castle is a former royal castle and manor house located just south of Horsens, Denmark. It traces its history back to 1313 but the current Baroque buildings date from 1775. Owned by Horsens Municipality, the main building is now run as a hotel while the associated land is a public park and used as fair grounds.

Torsted Parish (Danish: Torsted Sogn) is a parish in the Diocese of Aarhus in Horsens Municipality, Denmark. Torsted is located on the southwestern outskirts of Horsens, 2 miles southwest of the city centre. Its parish number is 7966. In the Church of Denmark, it is a unit of Horsens provsti within the Diocese of Aarhus. Until the 1970 municipal reform, it was also a governmental unit as part of Hatting hundred. In 1924 it included settlements and estates named Torsted, Ørnstrup, Mosegaard and Thorstedhuse.There is also a Torsted parish in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality, in western Jutland.

Until 1 January 2007, Gedved municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Vejle County on the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 151 km², and had a total population of 10,215 (2005). Its last mayor was Ejgil W. Rasmussen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Gedved. Gedved municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with existing Brædstrup (with the exception of Voerladegård Parish) and Horsens municipalities to form a new Horsens municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 542 km² and a total population of approx. 80,000 (2005) in Region Midtjylland.

Gedved is a small town with a population of 2,336 (1 January 2022), in Horsens Municipality located between Skanderborg and Horsens in the middle eastern Jutland in Denmark's Region Midtjylland. Gedved is one of the fastest-growing towns in Denmark, with a 30% increase in population since 2006.

Hatting is a town in Horsens Municipality, Denmark, with a population of 1,823 (1 January 2022).

The State Prison at Møgelkær is a prison located in Møgelkær in Denmark. The place where the prison is now located was in the beginning a manor house. Later the location was used as a workplace for young unemployed people. From 1945 to 1973 the place was used as a youth prison until it was transformed into prison for adults inmates.

Rårup is a village in Hedensted Municipality in the Mid Jutland Region of Denmark. With a population of 433 (1. January 2024), Rårup is located in Rårup Parish (sogn) 13 km northwest of the town of Juelsminde, 14 km southeast of the city of Horsens and 16 km east of the town of Hedensted. Rårup Church is located in the village. Rårup Hal is located in the village. In the village's church named Sct. Anna is Frederik Rantzau (1677 – 1726) buried, in the Rantzauian Chapel (Det Rantzauske Kapel). Rårup School lies at Kirkedalsvej 64.
