The Cary Graphic Arts Collection is a library and archive of books, type specimens, manuscripts, documents, and artifacts related to the history of graphical communication. Located in Wallace Library at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), in Henrietta, New York, the Cary Collection contains literate artifacts as old as cuneiform tablets and as recent as computer tablets and e-books, in all comprising some 40,000 volumes in addition to manuscripts, correspondence, printing types and traditional letterpress printing equipment. A recent, newsworthy acquisition is the Albion hand press from the Kelmscott Press of William Morris. The Cary Collection also possesses one of the rare copies (only 440 printed) of the extravagantly produced and illustrated Kelmscott Chaucer of 1896, which the British Library has called "a new benchmark for book design at the end of the 19th century". The Kelmscott Chaucer was hand printed on the Kelmscott Albion press which is also held in the Cary Collection.

Tora-Con is an annual two-day anime convention held during March or April at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. The convention's name comes from the Japanese word 'tora' meaning tiger and is organized by the Rochester Institute of Technology Anime Club. The event is family friendly.

The Kate Gleason College of Engineering (KGCOE) is the engineering college at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The college is home to all of RIT's engineering programs except for software engineering, which is part of the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences. Entering the 2023-24 academic year, the student body consisted of 2,947 students, with 400 graduate students. About 23% of the students were female.

Saunders College of Business (or SCB) (formerly known as The E. Philip Saunders College of Business) is one of eleven colleges at Rochester Institute of Technology and is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). As of fall semester 2018, Saunders College of Business encompasses nearly 11% of RIT's enrollment, home to more than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in programs across RIT Global Campuses in Rochester, New York, Croatia, Dubai, Kosovo, and China. Saunders College works in partnership with RIT’s entrepreneurial Venture Creations incubator and Albert J. Simone Center for Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship to integrate business education with RIT’s technical and creative programs. Saunders College offers undergraduate (BS), Masters (MS), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), and Executive MBA (EMBA) programs.

The Frank Ritter Memorial Ice Arena, known colloquially as "The Ritter", is an arena on the campus of the Rochester Institute of Technology in Henrietta, a suburb of Rochester, New York, United States. It is the former home to the RIT Tigers ice hockey teams and the Genesee Figure Skating Club. Its official capacity for ice hockey games was 2,100.The building was erected in 1968 when RIT moved from downtown Rochester to a new suburban campus in nearby Henrietta. Frank Ritter, a furniture maker famous for his dental chairs, helped found the Mechanics Institute, a forerunner of the Rochester Institute of Technology, in 1885. The Ritter-Clark Rink on the downtown campus had previously been named in part for Frank Ritter. Frank Ritter Shumway, Ritter's grandson and a major figure in U.S. Figure Skating, was a generous benefactor of RIT, and he ensured that the ice rink on the new campus was named for his grandfather.The arena was also home to the Genesee Figure Skating Club, founded in 1955 by F. Ritter Shumway.The ice surface measures 85 feet by 185 feet (26 m by 56 m), with the goals at the north and south ends. The home bench, scorer's table, and penalty boxes are on the west side; the visiting bench is on the east side, with the men's and women's home locker rooms underneath the east bleachers. The Pike Press Box (room for 16 with 5 telephones and ethernet access) and the President's Box (stadium-style seating for 16) are two stories up from the ice surface, on the south side of the rink.A new scoreboard was purchased and installed in time for RIT's inaugural Men's Division I season, 2005–2006. Previous renovations in 2000 improved the lighting, acoustics, and concessions in the arena. In 2010, the Institute announced a $3.5 million expansion project to include new locker rooms, offices, video rooms, and training rooms.The arena was ranked the second-best rink in the ECAC West (out of six) in 2003. [2] (The only better rink was the Utica Memorial Auditorium, which is a professional-level hockey arena.) The Ritter was the third-highest-capacity rink in Atlantic Hockey (behind Army's Tate Rink and Air Force's Cadet Field House Ice Arena and tied with Niagara's Dwyer Arena). In 2009, USCHO.com national columnist Dave Starman wrote that the Ritter was "A Great Atmosphere More Should Experience", explaining: "Between the pep band, the small size of the arena (2,100), and perhaps the best public address announcer in college hockey, the RIT Tigers have created a buzz on campus that more people should see on a national broadcast."In 2011, Rochester Institute of Technology began raising funds for the Gene Polisseni Center, which became the eventual replacement home to the varsity hockey programs in 2014. Ritter Arena remained open despite the move of the varsity hockey programs to the new center. In 2021, The Ritter became the temporary home of RIT Libraries while major renovations began on the Wallace Library building. These renovations were included as part of construction of the new Student Hall for Exploration and Development ("SHED") building attached to the library, which lasted throughout the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years. The library contents were moved back into the Wallace building for its re-opening at the start of the Fall 2023 semester. After the arena was vacated, plans were announced to convert the facility to an indoor turf field.

The Gene Polisseni Center (colloquially known as the Polisseum or by its initials, the GPC) is an ice arena on the Rochester Institute of Technology campus in Henrietta, New York. Ground was broken for the project on October 19, 2012, and the arena was officially dedicated on September 18, 2014.The arena is the home of the varsity ice hockey teams at RIT, replacing the Frank Ritter Memorial Ice Arena. Ritter Arena continues to be used as an ice arena. The Polisseni Center serves primarily as a hockey arena (for RIT varsity hockey and local youth programs), and it will also be a multi-purpose venue. The Polisseni Center is built not far from Ritter Arena on the RIT campus, south of the Student Alumni Union, replacing portions of parking lot U.

House of General Science or HoGS is a special interest house at Rochester Institute of Technology. HoGS was established in 1997 as a house devoted to the love of science, and is open to all majors.

The National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) is the first and largest technological college in the world for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. As one of nine colleges within the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, New York, NTID provides academic programs, access, ASL in-class interpreters and support services—including on-site audiological, speech-language, and cochlear implant support.As of fall quarter 2012, NTID encompasses just under 10% of RIT's enrollment, 1259 students. Roughly 775 deaf and hard of hearing students are cross-registered into another RIT college's program with support from NTID. In addition to a master's degree in deaf education, NTID also offers a bachelor's degree program in ASL-English Interpretation.

WITR (89.7 FM) is a student-run broadcast radio station in Henrietta, New York. It is a college radio station, owned by the Rochester Institute of Technology. It was assigned the WITR call letters by the Federal Communications Commission. WITR first went on the air as an AM station (600 kHz) in 1961, when RIT was still located in downtown Rochester. The station moved with the campus to Henrietta in 1968, and transitioned to FM in 1975. The office and recording studios are located in the first floor of the Student Alumni Union; in 2015 a new studio, Studio X, was constructed on the main floor of the Student Alumni Union. In March 2010, the station unveiled a new logo and branding, changing from "Modern Music and More" to "The Pulse of Music". On May 9, 2022, at 4 p.m., after stunting with a loop of "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" by R.E.M., Christmas songs, and other musical styles, the station reverted back to the "Modern Music and More" format with a new curated music library, website, and logo. WITR is marketed as an independent music station and broadcasts a variety of genres, in addition to its regularly scheduled and typically automated indie music format. Weekly shows are produced in-studio by students and feature the following genres: world, hip-hop, R&B, rock, modern metal, hardcore, disco, house, jazz, ska, punk rock, Spanish/Latin, reggae, electronica, gospel, blues, news, classical, punk, and glam. In particular, the "Reggae Sounds" program is claimed to be the longest-running reggae program in North America. WITR additionally broadcasts sporting events, serving as the flagship station for RIT Tigers men's ice hockey games, which simulcasts locally on WHTK. On September 14, 2023, WITR received FCC authorization to increase its broadcast power from 910 watts to 3,000 watts.

The Red Barn is a recreational facility at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Located on the west end of the RIT campus, the large, red-painted barn is the site of the university's Outdoor Education program. It is perhaps best known for its rock climbing and bouldering facilities.

Black Creek is a tributary of the Genesee River that runs for 46 miles (74 km) in western New York, United States. The creek begins in Middlebury in Wyoming County and runs north for roughly the first half of its course and east for the other half, eventually joining the Genesee River in Chili, Monroe County. Its drainage area spans around 202 square miles (520 km2), which is largely rural and agricultural. As of 2000, 40,000 residents lived in the creek's drainage area.

In the early days of Rochester railroading, Genesee Junction was the name given to the interchange between the West Shore Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad in Chili, NY. However, after the PRR shut down its Rochester Branch following its merger with the New York Central, the name "Genesee Junction" moved west to the neighboring interchange between the West Shore (Penn Central by this point) and the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. This interchange, formerly known as West Shore Junction, has retained the name Genesee Junction to this day.
