Djamaa el Kebir (Arabic: الجامع الكبير, romanized: djama' el-kebir), also known as the Great Mosque of Algiers (French: Grande mosquée d'Alger), is a historic mosque in Algiers, Algeria. It is located within the Casbah (old city), near the city's harbor. Dating to 1097, it is one of the few remaining examples of Almoravid architecture, although it has undergone other additions and reconstructions since its foundation. It is the oldest mosque in Algiers and is said to be one of the oldest mosque in Algeria after Sidi Okba Mosque and Sidi Ghanem Mosque.

The Palais des Rais (Arabic: قصر الرياس), also known as Bastion 23, is a classified historical monument located in Algiers, Algeria. It is notable for its architecture and for being the last surviving quarter (houma) of the lower Casbah.Consisting of three palaces and six houses, whose history began with the construction of Bordj-Ez-zoubia in 1576 by the Dey Ramdhan Pasha in order to reinforce the means of defence of this side of the Medina, this quarter ended up being detached, and even isolated from its traditional environment following the restructuring of the lower Casbah during the French period.It was not until 1909 that Bastion 23 was classified as a Historical Monument under the name Group of Moorish houses.

Ali Bitchin Mosque (Arabic: مسجد علي بتشين) or Zawj Euyun Mosque (Arabic: جامع زوج عيون) is a historic mosque in Algiers, Algeria. Ali Bitchin ordered the construction of the mosque in 1622. it is situated inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site Casbah of Algiers. It's located at the crosspoint between the Bab al-Wadi Street and the lower area of casbah.

Dar Aziza is a 16th-century Moorish palace located in the Casbah of Algiers in Algeria. Today, it houses the National Agency of Archaeology and Protection of Historic Sites and Monuments. Dar Aziza, arguably the most iconic surviving building of its era in Algiers, was part of a large governmental compound known as Janina Palace, which existed before the arrival of Turkish corsairs.

The Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions is an art museum in Algiers, the capital of Algeria. The museum is located on Rue Socgemah in the Souk El-Djemaâ of the Basse-Casbah district and welcomes around 47,000 visitors every year. Its displays Algerian art, including rugs, jewelry, pottery and costumes. The museum is housed in a former 16th-century Ottoman era palace. The former Turkish residence was formerly known as Dar Khadaoudj El Amia or Dar El Bekri. The museum contains a library, department of conservation, and Animation and Documentation Department.

The National Library of Algeria (in Arabic: المكتبة الوطنيّة الجزائريّة) has been in existence since Independence in the 1960s and it was modeled after a large administrative library that was established in 1835 by the French colonial authorities. A new building, constructed in the 1990s to house the million or so volumes of the national library, also enabled the library to considerably develop its services. Algeria's scientific and technical information needs are ensured by two organizations, the Centre for Technical and Scientific Information and Technology Transfer, the Algerian equivalent of the INIS network, and the National Social and Economic Documentation Centre, established in 1971, which ensures the selection and indexing of automated documentation on the social and economic development of the country and the collection of statistical data.It has a floor area of 67,000 m2 (720,000 sq ft) and was designed to house more than 10 million books. It can accommodate more than 2,500 readers at a time. It is the legal deposit and copyright for Algeria.

Dar Mustapha Pacha (French: Palais Mustapha Pacha) is a Moorish palace, located in the Casbah of Algiers, Algiers, Algeria. It houses the National Museum of Miniatures, Illumination and Calligraphy.It was built by the future Dey Mustapha Pacha between 1798 and 1799. The main entrance to the palace is situated at No. 12 Ahmad and Muhammad Mecheri Street, under a projecting roof terrace which is bordered by rows of Roman tiles. The main door opens onto a sqifa (entrance hall), which leads to the main courtyard of the palace. The courtyard is sheltered with groined vaults and is dispersed with decorative niches which form window-seat benches. There is also a second entrance hall which is overlooked by two marble-framed doors; this connects the main sqifa used by visitors to enter the interior courtyard. The centre of the residential quarters is surrounded by galleries and supported by arches which rest on marble columns and are distinguished by decorative tiles. The ceilings are supported by wooden beams which cover the galleries on the ground floor and the first floor of the palace.

Dar Hassan Pacha is an 18th-century palace located in the Casbah of Algiers, Algeria. It was built in 1791 and used to belong to Hassan III Pasha, who signed a treaty with the US September 5, 1795. After 1830, it became the winter residence of the Governor of Algiers, and as a consequence, it was completely remodelled in 1839, when the entrance has been changed and a new façade was created.

The Ketchaoua Mosque (Arabic: جامع كتشاوة, Djamaa Ketchaoua) is a mosque in Algiers, the capital of Algeria. It was built during the Ottoman rule in the 17th century and is located at the foot of the Casbah, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mosque stands on the first of the Casbah's many steep stairways and was logistically and symbolically the cynosure of the pre-colonial city of Algiers. The mosque is noted for its unique fusion of Moorish and Byzantine architecture.The mosque was originally built in 1612. Later, in 1845, it was converted during French rule, to the Cathedral of St Philippe, which remained so until 1962. The old mosque was demolished between 1845 and 1860 and a new church was built. It was converted into a mosque in 1962. In spite of these transitions over two different religious faiths in roughly the last four centuries, the mosque has retained its original grandeur and is one of the major attractions of Algiers.

The Bank of Algeria (Arabic: بنك الجزائر, French: Banque d'Algérie) is the central bank of Algeria. The bank is located in Algiers and its current governor is Salah Eddine Taleb. It was established following Algerian independence in 1962 by Seghir Mostefai, expert for the "Exécutif provisoire" and member of the Algerian delegation at Evian negotiations, to take over the former activities in the country of the Banque de l'Algérie, the colonial central bank of French Algeria.

The Madrasa Thaalibia (Arabic: المدرسة الثعالبية; French: Médersa Thaâlibiyya), is a madrasa located in Algiers, Algeria. It was founded on 17 October 1904 by Charles Jonnart and subsequently became one of the leading spiritual and educational centres of Algeria.
