Louisville Bus Station

Central High School is a public high school founded in 1870, and located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It was the first African-American high school in the state of Kentucky; and it was a segregated school for African American students from 1870 until 1956. It was formerly known as Central Colored High School, and formally known as Louisville Central High School Magnet Career Academy.

The Union Station of Louisville, Kentucky is a historic railroad station that serves as offices for the Transit Authority of River City (TARC), as it has since mid-April 1980 after receiving a year-long restoration costing approximately $2 million. It was one of at least five union stations in Kentucky, amongst others located in Lexington, Covington, Paducah and Owensboro. It was one of three stations serving Louisville, the others being Central Station and Southern Railway Station. It superseded previous, smaller, railroad depots located in Louisville, most notably one located at Tenth and Maple in 1868–1869, and another L&N station built in 1858. The station was formally opened on September 7, 1891, by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. There was a claim made at the time that it was the largest railroad station in the Southern United States, covering forty acres (16 ha). The other major station in Louisville was Central Station, serving the Baltimore and Ohio, the Illinois Central and other railroads.

The Knights of Pythias Temple in Louisville, Kentucky, also known as Chestnut Street Branch-Y.M.C.A., was built in 1914–15. It was designed by Henry Wolters. It is a buff-colored brick building with limestone trim.It was built as the state headquarters for the Colored Knights of Pythias organization in Kentucky. By 1916, there were thirteen chapters of the black Knights of Pythias listed in Louisville, most meeting at this new Pythian Building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Louisville Free Public Library's Western Branch or Western Library is a public library in Louisville, Kentucky. It is a Carnegie library and is the first public library built for African Americans staffed entirely by African Americans. Previously known as Louisville Free Public Library, Western Colored Branch, and registered as a historic site in that name, it is a branch of the Louisville Free Public Library system. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Louisville and Nashville Railroad Office Building, at 908 W. Broadway in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, is a historic skyscraper building, built in 1907, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was once the headquarters of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, a prominent railroad company from the mid-19th century to the 1970s.

The Chestnut Street Baptist Church (also Quinn Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church) is a historic church at 912 W. Chestnut Street in Louisville, Kentucky. It was built in 1884 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It was deemed significant as "a significant example of Gothic Revival ecclesiastical architecture in Louisville. It is also an important part of the history of one of the city's earliest and most important black congregations."It was designed by German-born architect Henry Wolters. It is an "ornate Gothic Revival structure. The red brick church is richly ornamented with terra cotta. The facade of the structure consists of a central gabled section with two towers."

The Sears, Roebuck and Company Store, at 800 West Broadway in Louisville, Kentucky, is a building which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It was deemed notable as "one of few structures in Louisville and the only major commercial/retail building constructed in the Art Deco style. Built in 1928, the structure incorporates features characteristic of the style, including strong vertical elements and geometric patterns in the detailing."

St. Peter's German Evangelical Church is a historic church at 1231 W. Jefferson Street in Louisville, Kentucky. It was built in 1894 in Late Gothic Revival style and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It was deemed notable as "an excellent example of the late Gothic Revival style in ecclesiastical architecture in Louisville. The building is one of the most beautifully detailed works of the prominent Louisville architectural firm of Clarke & Loomis."The church was organized in 1847 to serve the large German population in the western part of Louisville, and English was not used in the church until 1893. The current building was built during 1894–1895.

The former St. Patrick's Catholic Church is a historic Roman Catholic parish church located at 1301-1305 West Market Street in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The church built in 1860 is a large 3-story steepled redbrick Romanesque Revival building, while the rectory next door is a 2-story redbrick structure. In 1991 the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville leased the building for 25 years to Dismas House Charities to be use as a rehabilitation center known as "Dismas House".On March 17, 2004, over 600 attended a the 150th celebration. The original 1854 Church and school which was situated behind the church on 13th Street were torn down without a demolition permit in June 2004 by its owner, Cardinal Insulation, shortly before the time the Xaviarian Brothers would celebrate their 150th anniversary. Despite all three structures being added March 1, 1982, to the National Register of Historic Places former parishioners were in shock and vowed to seek local Louisville Landmark status for the 1862 Church and rectory. A complete history of the church was written by Doris Batliner and published to secure the needed funds to pay for the designation. On March 17, 2006, the church became a local Louisville landmark. Plans are underway to return the 1854 Church cornerstone to the site of its former location March 17, 2014 for the church's 160th anniversary.

It is the seventh-largest alcohol supplier in the United States, the second-largest holder of bourbon whiskey inventory in the world, the largest, independent, family-owned and operated producer and marketer of distilled spirits in the United States, and the only large family-owned distillery company headquartered in Kentucky (not counting Brown-Forman Corporation, which is publicly traded but more than two-thirds family-controlled, or Sazerac Company, which is family-owned but headquartered in Louisiana).

The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Temple in Louisville, Kentucky, also known as the Scottish Rite Temple, is a building completed in 1931. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It was deemed "an important example of the pure Neo-classical Revival style. Both the interior and exterior are unaltered and, as such, the building represents one of the finest examples of its type in Louisville."

The Gene Snyder U.S. Courthouse and Custom House, also known as United States Post Office, Court House and Custom House, is a historic courthouse, custom house, and post office located at Louisville in Jefferson County, Kentucky. It is the courthouse for the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places under the "United States Post Office, Court House and Custom House" name.
