Mountain Creek Lake

The Mountain Creek Lake Bridge is a bridge in Dallas County, Texas. The bridge is part of the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) system. It is tolled in both directions (toll is collected on the west end of the bridge), and the lanes of the Mountain Creek Lake Bridge toll plaza are equipped for electronic toll collection via TollTag. The bridge connects Spur 303 between Grand Prairie and Dallas across Mountain Creek Lake.

Horner Ballpark is a baseball field in Dallas, Texas. It is the home park of the Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team of the NCAA Division I Conference USA. It opened on February 15, 2013, and has been highly acclaimed by national media, including D1Baseball.com.The stadium is named for Joan and Andy Horner, who made the lead donation for the park. The Patriots hosted the Dallas Regional in 2015 at Horner Ballpark. The ballpark succeeded Patriot Field as the home of Dallas Baptist baseball team. Horner Ballpark received a new scoreboard manufactured by Daktronics prior to the start of the 2018 season.Horner Ballpark hosted the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament, with Missouri State defeating the Patriots 7–6 in the championship game.

Patriot Field is a baseball field located in Dallas, Texas, United States, and was home to the Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team from 1983 to 2012. The venue was finished in the summer of 1983 and has had many improvements done through the years since its inception. The field has also made a cameo appearance in Chuck Norris' The President's Man, a made-for-TV movie, for CBS in 2001. The Texas Longhorns baseball team, featured in the film, used it as their fictitious "home field."It was replaced at the start of the 2013 season by Horner Ballpark.

The Grand Prairie Armed Forces Reserve Complex or Grand Prairie AFRC (formerly Naval Air Station Dallas or Hensley Field) is a former United States Navy Naval Air Station located on Mountain Creek Lake in southwest Dallas. The installation was established as an Army aviation center, and eventually became home to aviation assets from all the military services. In December 1998, Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) action decommissioned the naval air station; transferred Carswell AFB to the U.S. Navy and renamed it Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth / Carswell Field; and sent Grand Prairie's Naval Air Reserve, Marine Air Reserve and Texas Air National Guard flying units (wings, groups, squadrons) to Carswell.The former NAS Dallas was later recommissioned as the Grand Prairie Armed Forces Reserve Complex, with the half that housed the aircraft-related facilities (such as the runway, hangars, etc.) going to the Texas Air National Guard, and the half with most non-aircraft related facilities going to the U.S. Army Reserve and a small area to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Vought Aircraft Industries operated a government-owned, contractor-operated (GOCO) plant next to Grand Prairie AFRC until 2014. In 2019 the site was redeveloped into a distribution center for The Home Depot, which opened in 2021.Soon after the BRAC closure, ownership of 738 acres (299 ha) of the former base was transferred from the U.S. government to the city of Dallas, but plans to redevelop the land for other uses have been stalled since 2001 due to the U.S. Navy's failure to clean up environmental contamination that occurred while the site was used by the military.

Young Women's Leadership Academy at Arnold is an all girls' middle and high school in Grand Prairie, Texas. It is a part of the Grand Prairie Independent School District. The school is part of the Young Women's Preparatory Network and as an average of 1400 students: 1,200 middle school and 200 high school students. As a college preparatory school, it offers two career pathways (which is a great contrast to other GPISD high schools such as Dubiski Career High School or South Grand Prairie High School) Fashion and Business as well as STEM.

Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant, Dallas (NWIRP) was a government-owned, contractor-operated (GOCO) facility operating from 1941 to 2014 which had the mission of designing, fabricating, and testing prototype weapons and equipment, and is located in Dallas, Texas. The NWIRP first began as an aerospace manufacturing complex constructed for the World War II mobilization program. In 2012, the plant was sold to a private corporation for $357,500. It was located for most of its time next to Naval Air Station Dallas, now known as the Grand Prairie Armed Forces Reserve Complex.

The Bagdad Supper Club was a theater and entertainment venue located on north side of what then was U.S. Route 80, but now is Texas State Highway 180, east of Grand Prairie, Texas, at the corner of Bagdad Road and Main Street. It opened Thanksgiving Day 1928, eleven months before the Great Crash of 1929. It was an opulent palatial facility that offered dining, dancing, and music. The venue was featured in the 1947 comedy Juke Joint, starring Spencer Williams. J. Wiley Day was the inaugural managing director. The club was constructed by the Bagdad Enterprises, Inc., a Texas corporation, controlled by Eastern capital. The corporation was a subsidiary of a large Eastern company that confined itself to various theatrical lines. The architect was W. Scott Dunne (1886–1937), a well-known designer of theaters in Texas.

Grand Prairie Independent School District is a school district headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas, United States. GPISD is a 58-square-mile (150 km2) district serving more than 26,600 students within the Dallas County portion of Grand Prairie. The district boasts 41 campuses, including two early education schools, 22 elementary schools, six middle schools, three 6-12 campuses, three high schools, two early college high schools, and two alternative education schools. The District employs more than 4,529 staff members and offers a variety of services and programs designed to help students radiate success. To attend a GPISD school, kindergarten children must be five years old on or before September 1 of the current school year. Special early childhood programs are available for children ages 3–5 who are handicapped or developmentally delayed, and for infants from birth to age two who are blind or deaf. GPISD is an open enrollment district through the Schools and Programs of Choice. Students entering GPISD from other accredited schools are admitted at the level authorized by individual transcripts. A student enrolling in Grand Prairie schools must be a resident of the GPISD and must provide satisfactory proof of residency and required immunizations. The high schools in the district are Grand Prairie High School, South Grand Prairie High School and Dubiski Career High School. The GPISD Education Center is located at 2602 South Belt Line Road. In 2011, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

Mountain Creek is a creek in North Texas. The creek rises near Alvarado in eastern Johnson County. It flows northeast for thirty-eight miles, forming a boundary between Grand Prairie and Dallas, where it meets Mountain Creek Lake, the mouth of the creek is on the West Fork of the Trinity River. Walnut Creek is a tributary of the creek.
