New Bremen is a town in Lewis County, New York, United States. The population was 2,706 at the 2010 census. The town is named after the German city of Bremen. The town is on the eastern side of the county. It is northeast of Lowville, the county seat.

Beaver Falls Grange Hall No. 554 is a historic Grange hall located at Beaver Falls in Lewis County, New York. It was built in 1892, and is a two-story, wood-frame building measuring 30 feet wide and 60 feet deep. It sits on a fieldstone foundation and has a front gable roof. It features a one-story, hipped roof front porch. The first floor was converted to a store in 1915. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Harry and Molly Lewis House, also known as the Fiber Products Research Center, is a historic home located near Beaver Falls in Lewis County, New York. It was built in 1909–1910, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, Colonial Revival style masonry dwelling with a rear ell. It has intersecting hipped roofs and features a monumental two-story projecting portico. Also on the property are the contributing garage (c. 1909–1910), workshop (c. 1909–1910), and water system (c. 1909–1910). The house was converted into the Fiber Products Research Center in 1957 supporting the J.P. Lewis paper company. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Lewis County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of New York, situated between the Adirondack Mountains and the Tug Hill Plateau, within the state's North Country region. As of the 2020 census, the county had a population of 26,582, making it the fourth-least populous county in New York. Its county seat is Lowville. Named after Morgan Lewis, Governor of New York at the time of its establishment in 1805, Lewis County was formed from part of Oneida County and has undergone multiple jurisdictional changes since the colonial era. The area was originally inhabited by the Iroquois Confederacy before being incorporated into colonial and later state holdings following the American Revolutionary War. Settlement expanded in the late 18th century after Macomb's Purchase, and the county has historical significance related to early militia formations and its role in the War of 1812. Geographically, the county includes portions of Adirondack Park, the Black River Valley, and is part of New York’s Snowbelt, receiving some of the highest snowfall totals in the eastern United States. Its economy is primarily based on agriculture, forestry, and renewable energy, with growing contributions from tourism and winter recreation. Demographically, the population is predominantly White, with a rural character and low population density. Politically, Lewis County has a long-standing pattern of supporting Republican candidates, with only a few deviations since the Civil War. The county is home to several small towns and villages, including Copenhagen, Croghan, and Lyons Falls, and hosts one of the oldest agricultural fairs in the state, the Lewis County Fair.

The Beaver River is a small mountain stream which flows from the Adirondack Mountains to the Black River at Naumburg, north of Lowville in northwestern New York. The Beaver flows through parts of Hamilton, Herkimer, and Lewis counties. Its source is Lake Lila in Long Lake. Owing to its high gradient as it drops out of the mountains, the Beaver is a favorite destination for whitewater kayakers and canoeists. In September of each year, hundreds of whitewater paddlers descend on the Beaver from all parts of the US and eastern Canada. Also because of its high gradient, there are several hydropower projects along the Beaver's course. These projects, created between 1905 and 1920 have fostered a series of highly productive fisheries in the reservoir chain. Popular among locals, the Soft Maple Reservoir is an excellent Smallmouth Bass fishery. The hamlet of Beaver River at the east end of Stillwater Reservoir, in the town of Webb has a year-round population of three that increases during the summer as many people have camps in this wilderness area. No roads lead to the hamlet; it is accessible only by hiking, rail car or boat in the summer and by snowmobile, snowshoes or cross country skis in the winter.

Lewis County Fairgrounds is a historic fairground and national historic district located at Lowville in Lewis County, New York. The district includes one contributing building and five contributing structures all constructed about 1876. They are the Grandstand, half-mile Race track, Antiques Building, Taffy Stand, Information Booth, and the balldiamond bleacher stands. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Castorland is a village in Lewis County, New York, United States; it is north of Lowville and southeast of Carthage. The population was 360 in 2019.
