Chatham Waters

Fort Gillingham, also known as Gillingham Fort, was constructed in 1669 on the south bank of the River Medway in Kent, England. In conjunction with Cockham Wood Fort it took on the role of defending Chatham Dockyard from seaborne attack, a role which had been performed by Upnor Castle for the previous hundred years. Fort Gillingham was demolished long ago, but its ramparts and ditches are clearly shown on the 1869 O. S. map with the site identified as a coastguard station. The site of Fort Gillingham is now known as Gillingham Pier.

Waterfront UTC is a University Technical College in Chatham, Kent, England, which opened in September 2015 as Medway UTC on a site between Pier Road and South Side Three Road. After receiving an "inadequate" rating in every category in an Ofsted inspection in March 2018, the college joined The Howard Academy Trust in November 2018 and its name was changed.

Medway Police Station is the main Kent Police facility for the Medway towns, located on Purser Way in Gillingham, Kent. It serves all Medway divisions and replaced several older local stations, such as Chatham Police Station. Medway Police Station was procured under a 30‑year Private Finance Initiative (PFI) concession. Infrastructure investor HICL reports that the project reached financial close in July 2004 and had a capital expenditure of £23 million, with construction by Norwest Holst (Vinci) completed in November 2006. The new station was formally opened in March 2007, replacing the former stations: Gillingham Police Station (Pear Tree House, West Street, Gillingham) Chatham Police Station (The Brook, Chatham) Rochester Police Station (Cazeneuve Street, Rochester) Rainham Police Station (Birling Avenue, Rainham)

The PS Medway Queen is a paddle driven steamship, the only mobile estuary paddle steamer left in the United Kingdom. She was one of the "little ships of Dunkirk", making a record seven trips and rescuing 7,000 men in the evacuation of Dunkirk.She was the subject of a £1.8 million National Lottery Heritage Memorial Fund grant to restore her hull. By 2014, her hull had been reconstructed and she is berthed at Gillingham Pier on the River Medway as of 2022.

Radio Sunlight was a community radio station serving the Medway towns in Kent, England.

Lower Lines Park, also known as Admiral's Gardens, is a public park in Gillingham, Kent. The park is part of the former Chatham Lines, a defensive moat built in 1803 to protect Chatham Dockyard. Used by the military until the mid-1900s, it never saw combat and is now a Scheduled Monument within the Great Lines Heritage Park. The park is owned by Fort Amherst Trust.

John H Amos is a paddlewheel tugboat built in Scotland in 1931. The last paddlewheel tug built for private owners, now owned by the Medway Maritime Trust. She is one of only two surviving British-built paddle tugs, the other being Eppleton Hall preserved at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in San Francisco, California.

MidKent College (formerly Mid-Kent College of Higher and Further Education) is a further education college in Kent, England. It runs courses from two separate campuses in Maidstone and Medway, including a number of higher education courses. There are approximately 8,500 students aged 16 years and upwards enrolled at the college. Courses offered range from pre-entry level to degree level and cover a wide range of vocational and academic subject areas.

St Mary's Island, is part of the Chatham Maritime development area in Medway, South East England. It is located at the northern end of Chatham, adjacent to Brompton and Gillingham. Once part of the Royal Dockyard, Chatham, the area had consisted of a mixture of sports fields and warehousing during the later years of the Royal Navy's time in occupation. St.Mary's Island is divided from mainland Chatham by three basins used by the dockyard.

The Medway School of Science is one of the schools of the University of Greenwich in South East England. The School of Science is based on the university's Medway campus in Chatham Maritime in the county of Kent. The School of Science has activity in both research and teaching and covers topics such as chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, earth and environmental sciences, biosciences and sports science.

The Black Lion Skatepark was a premier concrete skatepark in Gillingham, Kent (then under Gillingham Borough Council, now Medway Council), active from 1978 until its abrupt closure in 1987. It was built in 1978 during the late-1970s boom of skateboarding and BMX, funded by local businessman Alfred Faccenda. Historic England notes that Gillingham’s Black Lion was one of a series of top-tier “shotcrete” skateparks (designed by Adrian Rolt’s G-Force team and built by Skate Park Construction Ltd) opened in the UK around 1977–78. These featured California-inspired elements and poured concrete construction. In planning terms, the site (on Mill Road near the Black Lion pub) had formal approval, and in 1987 even a fresh permission was granted for an expanded replacement park and shop – but this redevelopment never occurred.

The Drill Hall Library in North Road, Chatham in Kent, England, was built as a military drill hall in 1902, for the Royal Navy as part of HMS Pembroke shore establishment and barracks. The barracks closed in 1984. The Grade II listed buildings of the barracks, which include the Captain's House (now a Solicitor's Offices), a Mess block (now University Offices and Restaurant), the Pilkington Building (now a cafe, student services and a lecture theatre), the four barrack blocks (now various lecture rooms), the Gymnasium, and the surrounding walls of barracks were then redeveloped as part of the Universities at Medway, a tri-partite collaboration of the University of Greenwich, the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University on a single campus. The three universities share use of the Drill Hall Library.
