The Shire of Enoggera is a former local government area of Queensland, Australia, located in north-western Brisbane.

Ferny Grove is an outer north-western suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, Ferny Grove had a population of 5,725 people.

Ashgrove was a Legislative Assembly of Queensland electoral district in the state of Queensland, Australia from 1960 to 2017.It was located in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, encompassing Alderley, Ashgrove, Enoggera, The Gap and Newmarket. The electorate also contained the Enoggera Army Barracks and the Enoggera Reservoir, a state forest. In the 2012 state election LNP leader Campbell Newman won the seat, and following his party's success in that election became Premier. In the 2015 election, Kate Jones, who had held the seat for Labor from 2006 to 2012, reclaimed the seat. In losing his seat and the Premiership, Newman became just the second Premier in Queensland history to be defeated in his electorate. Ashgrove was abolished in the 2017 electoral redistribution, mostly being replaced by Cooper.

Ferny Grove State High School is a public secondary school in the suburb of Ferny Grove, in Brisbane, Australia. The school has a total enrolment of more than 1900 students, with an official count of 1963 students in 2021. In 2007, the school won the award for the most innovative music program in Queensland. Ferny Grove has also won the award for the cleanest school for 8 years, With the latest Green and Healthy Schools award being won in 2010.

Brisbane Forest Park (now officially the southern part of D'Aguilar National Park), is located on parts of the D'Aguilar Range. The large nature reserve lies on the western boundary of City of Brisbane into the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, in Enoggera Reservoir, adjacent to The Gap and between the Mount Coot-tha Reserve on the Taylor Range and higher peaks to the north. Brisbane Forest Park supports plants and animals and is essential to their survival. The main entrance is located in the suburb of The Gap although there are a number of other access points. A number of waterways have their headwaters in the park including South Pine River, Enoggera Creek, Gold Creek, Moggill Creek and its tributary Gap Creek, Cabbage Tree Creek and Cedar Creek, a tributary of Kedron Brook. Lake Manchester Dam, Gold Creek Dam and Enoggera Dam are also located within the park.

The Brisbane Tramway Museum is an Australian transport museum that has preserved a collection of trams and trolleybuses most of which operated in Brisbane from 1897 until 1969. The museum is located at Ferny Grove.

Ferny Grove railway station is the terminus station of the Ferny Grove line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Ferny Grove. The Brisbane Tramway Museum is a short walk south of the station.

Cooper is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created in the 2017 redistribution, and was won at that year's state election by Labor's Kate Jones. It was named after pioneer doctor Lilian Violet Cooper.It largely covers the areas of the abolished electorate of Ashgrove. Located in Northern Brisbane, it consists of the suburbs of Enoggera Reservoir, The Gap, Bardon, Ashgrove, Red Hill, Paddington and Milton.

The Camp Mountain rail accident occurred at approximately 9:48 am on 5 May 1947 when a crowded picnic train derailed on a sharp left-hand curve between Ferny Grove and Camp Mountain stations on the now-closed Dayboro railway line, approximately 15 km (9.3 mi) northwest of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. The Camp Mountain train disaster is still the largest loss of life in a rail accident on the Queensland railway network with 16 fatalities, including both the driver and fireman of the train; 38 were injured.
