Market Street Massacre

Delaware County National Bank is a historic bank building in Chester, Pennsylvania, located at the southwest corner of 3rd Street and Avenue of the States (formerly Market Square) adjacent to the Old St. Paul's Church burial ground. It was built between 1882 and 1884, and is a 2+1⁄2-story masonry building in the Renaissance Revival style. It is built of brick and brownstone and has a low hipped slate-covered roof. The roof features metal cresting, five projecting decorated chimneys, and four Corinthian order pilasters supporting the front pediment dormer. It was headquarters for the Delaware County National Bank from 1884 to 1930.

The Chester Courthouse is a historic courthouse in Chester, Pennsylvania that served as the Chester County courthouse from 1724 to 1789, the Delaware County courthouse from 1789 to 1850 and the City Hall for the city of Chester. It was built in 1724 and is the oldest public building still standing in the United States.

CSMI is a for-profit charter school operator in Chester, Pennsylvania in the United States. It operates Chester Community Charter School in the Chester Upland School District and a school in New Jersey. CSMI is led by Vahan H. Gureghian. In August 2020, the Washington Post published an article criticizing the administrative costs and educational outcomes achieved by CSMI as it was poised to take over the school district. It also operates Atlantic Community Charter School in Galloway Township, New Jersey. Top achieving students at the school were rewarded with a shopping spree. A school it managed in Camden, New Jersey was closed for poor performance.In 2019 it sought to take over the Chester School District but a judge rejected the plan.Chester Community Charter School hosted a food bank in April 2021. Gureghian and CSMI have also helped fund laptop computers for students and scholarships to fund students who go on to attend private high schools.

The Second Street Bridge was an historic, American concrete Bowstring arch bridge that was located in Chester, Pennsylvania. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, it has since been demolished.

The Chester Transportation Center is a SEPTA bus and train station in Chester, Pennsylvania. The outside portion of the ground level serves SEPTA City Transit Division Route 37, and Suburban Transit Division Routes 109, 113, 114, 117, 118, and 119. Above the building of the transportation center is the train station. The tracks run over the building. The station is served by the Wilmington/Newark Line. The line offers southbound service to Wilmington and Newark, Delaware and northbound service to Philadelphia. This station is located at 6th and Welsh Streets, Chester, PA 19013.

The monument at the William Penn Landing Site in Chester, Pennsylvania marks the spot of the first landing of William Penn on the territory of Pennsylvania, on October 28 or 29, 1682 (O.S.). Penn, the founder of the Province of Pennsylvania, landed in the only town in the province, then known as Upland. The monument at the site was designed by John Struthers, erected on November 8 and dedicated November 9, 1882 (N.S.) The landing site was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

St. Paul's Church is an Episcopal church founded in 1702 in Chester, Pennsylvania. The church is a part of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. It is located at 301 East 9th Street and is an active worship center.

Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Company (1917–1989) was a major shipbuilding company in Chester, Pennsylvania on the Delaware River. Its primary product was tankers, but the company built many types of ships over its 70-year history. During World War II, it participated in the U.S. Government's Emergency Shipbuilding Program. The company was also part of the U.S. aerospace industry during the Cold War; it built various propulsion research & development structures, including the largest U.S. rocket test chamber, for Aerojet General in 1963.

The Third Presbyterian Church was a historic Presbyterian Church founded in 1872 in Chester, Pennsylvania. It was located at 9th and Potter Streets. The church was the location of the first summer bible school in 1912. The congregation closed in 1986 and was thereafter owned by the Chester Historical Preservation Committee. It was a stone Gothic Revival building designed by the noted Philadelphia architect Isaac Pursell. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in November 2019 but severely damaged by a five-alarm fire on May 28, 2020.

State Correctional Institution – Chester is a medium-security, all-male correctional facility in Chester, Pennsylvania, within the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Deshong Park is a 22-acre park in Chester, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1913 on land donated to the city by wealthy businessman Alfred O. Deshong after his death. The donation of his property, mansion and art collection would be valued at over $24 million today. The park contained the Deshong Art Museum and the Deshong mansion. The museum building hosted the art collection and was used as a library from 1961 to 1978. However it fell into disrepair and suffered theft of the art collection. In 1984, the trust that managed the park and properties was dissolved and ownership was given to the Delaware County Industrial Development Authority. The art collection was moved to Widener University and the museum building was shuttered. The Deshong mansion fell into disrepair, suffered a partial collapse in 2013, and was demolished in 2014. The park has fallen into disrepair, suffered from crime and in 2018, 60% of the park was sold for commercial development.

The Deshong Art Museum, also known as the Deshong Memorial Art Gallery, was a public art gallery located in Deshong Park at Eleventh Street and Edgemont Avenue in Chester, Pennsylvania, in the U.S. The building displayed the art collection of wealthy businessman Alfred O. Deshong from 1916 to 1984. He donated his art collection, mansion and 22-acre (8.9 ha) property to the city of Chester after his death. At current valuations, the donation would be worth over US$24 million. Deshong Park was created from his donated property and the museum was built there in 1914. From 1961 to 1978, the building was used as a library but fell into disrepair and suffered theft of the art collection. In 1979, a teenage boy was convicted of stealing US$300,000 worth of paintings over a three-year period by taking them off the wall and sliding them out of the museum's windows.The museum trust was dissolved in 1984. The museum building and park were given to the Delaware County Industrial Development Authority and the art collection was moved to Widener University.
