RBC Centre, also known as the RBC Dexia Building, is an office tower in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Unlike the corporate offices of other Canadian financial institutions, the RBC Centre is outside of Toronto's Financial District. It has been owned and managed by Cadillac Fairview Corporation jointly with the Ontario Pension Board since 2012. The building is connected to the PATH.RBC Centre's anchor tenant is the Royal Bank of Canada. The bank maintains a presence in several other towers in the city's downtown core, including Royal Bank Plaza at Bay Street and Front Street, the Royal Bank Building at 20 King Street West adjacent to Scotia Plaza, RBC WaterPark Place and the building complex at 310, 315, 320 and 330 Front Street West, next to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.The development achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold status for the project's environmental sustainability and will produce an estimated 50% energy savings relative to buildings built to the Canadian National Energy Code. The LEED rating system recognizes leading-edge buildings that incorporate design, construction and operational practices that combine healthy, high-quality and high-performance advantages with reduced environmental impacts.In 2011, Toronto Star architecture critic Christopher Hume named the RBC Centre and the neighbouring Ritz-Carlton Toronto as the two most beautiful buildings completed in the 21st century in Toronto. He praised their integration into the community, and how they have revived Wellington Street.

Russell Creek was a short creek, 3.4 kilometres (2.1 mi) long, that flowed through what is now downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, west of the original town of York. The creek was named for Peter Russell and flowed generally southeast, like all the other waterways in Toronto, reflecting the recent glaciation, into Toronto Harbour near the present CN Tower. The creek was buried in 1876, but traces of it can still be found, for instance on the grounds of the historic Grange mansion.The Spadina Brewery was built on its banks, in 1837, and used its waters.

Simcoe Place is an office building and shopping centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The tower is 148 metres (486 ft) metres (486 feet) with 33 floors. It was completed by architects Carlos Ott and NORR in 1995. The late-Modernist building was built by developer Cadillac Fairview. It was the only major office tower built in Toronto during the mid-1990s, a period between the early decade real estate bubble and the building boom of the 21st century. As a special project The Globe and Mail reporter Mary Gooderham spent two years covering the construction, writing 110 columns on the subject. These were later compiled into a book titled A Building Goes Up: The Making of a Skyscraper. It is the head office for Workplace Safety & Insurance Board. It is adjacent to the CBC National Broadcast Centre and was built as the commercial component of the complex. The design was the subject of a design competition, won by Norr Architects and Ott.

The SkyWalk is an approximately 160 metre enclosed walkway connecting Union Station to the CN Tower and the Rogers Centre (SkyDome) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Part of Toronto's PATH network, the SkyWalk passes above the York Street 'subway' and the Simcoe Street Tunnel and runs roughly parallel between Front Street and Bremner Boulevard. Designed by the IBI Group, the SkyWalk was opened in 1989 as a predominantly indoor connection from Union Station to the SkyDome. The primary purpose of the SkyWalk is to reduce the need for additional parking spaces near the stadium by providing a direct transportation link to the subway and GO Transit regional trains. A post-modern curved metal and glass structure, the SkyWalk was the first major construction project in the former railway lands after the CN Tower.On 17 July 2014, the Toronto Preservation Board passed a motion recommending that Toronto City Council allow the demolition of the SkyWalk to make way for a 48-storey office and retail tower called Union Centre.On 6 June 2015, the Union Pearson Express station was opened within the SkyWalk.

The Simcoe Street tunnel is located between Front Street and Bremner Blvd. in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This CA$40 million tunnel is situated in a densely urban site below the SkyWalk and in close proximity to Toronto Union Station and the InterContinental Toronto Centre hotel. The tunnel roof structure is designed to carry all 16 pre-existing railway tracks. The ground structure provides one vehicle lane north bound and two lanes south bound, one bicycle lane and one extra wide pedestrian sidewalk on each side of the tunnel.The Simcoe Street tunnel was officially opened on September 22, 2009 by Councillor Adam Vaughan.

Murals were unveiled along the Lower Simcoe Street underpass in Toronto, Ontario, in 2019. Lead artist Tannis Nielsen worked with Indigenous artists to create the artworks. According to Muskrat Magazine, Gchi-twaa-wendan Nibi ("Honour the Water") on the eastern wall is dedicated to the Water Walkers, and 'N' gekaajig kidowog ("My Elders Said") on the western wall commemorates elders in Toronto.

Union Hotel is a boutique hotel located in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The hotel is located near Toronto's Union Station. The hotel opened in 1933 and operated as the Strathcona Hotel until 2023.

Ken Lee, a 59-year-old man, was fatally stabbed outside the Strathcona Hotel, on York Street, Toronto, at 12:17 am on December 18, 2022. Eight teenage girls were charged with his murder. The alleged perpetrators are suspected of two prior violent incidents also in downtown Toronto the same evening and are understood by police to have associated via social media, but to have not met in person prior to the evening of the attack.

Roy Thomson Hall is a concert hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Located downtown in the city's entertainment district, it is home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and the Toronto Defiant. Opened in 1982, its circular architectural design exhibits a sloping and curvilinear glass exterior. It was designed by Canadian architects Arthur Erickson and Mathers and Haldenby. Itzhak Perlman acted as a special advisor to the architects on accessibility needs for disabled performers and guests. The hall seats 2,630 guests and features a pipe organ built by Canadian organ builder Gabriel Kney from London, Ontario. The hall was formerly known as The New Massey Hall during its construction and pre-construction phase. It acquired its official name on January 14, 1982, as thanks to the family of Roy Thomson (first Lord Thomson of Fleet and founder of the publishing empire Thomson Corporation), who had donated C$4.5 million to complete the fundraising efforts for the new hall.The hall was renovated over a period of six months in 2002, after years of complaints from musicians about the quality of its acoustics. Filmmaker Jeffery Klassen's 2005 film, Toronto Architecture, interviews Arthur Erickson about the structure. Erickson talks of the point of the grey structure being that of a container which people were to fill up with their own decorations. The pond was originally designed to be used as a skating rink in the winter. The building was influenced by Erickson's journeys in Japan and his relationship with the North American Aboriginals. The hall is one of the main venues used by the Toronto International Film Festival, with many gala screenings held there each year including a festival-closing screening of the year's People's Choice Award winner. The concert hall was used in scenes of the 2000 film X-Men. The science fiction television series The Expanse use it as the setting for the United Nations headquarters. The Amazon series The Boys also uses the hall as the bottom base for the otherwise digitally created superheroes’ tower Vought Headquarters.The hall was the venue of the state funeral of federal Leader of the Official Opposition and NDP leader Jack Layton on August 27, 2011.

St. Andrew's Church is a historic Presbyterian church located at the corner of King Street West and Simcoe Street in the city's downtown core of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was designed by William George Storm in the Romanesque Revival style and completed in 1876.
