Transfer (stylized as TRANSFER) is a gallery in Brooklyn, New York that was created in 2013. It was co-founded by Kelani Nichole. Nichole, an independent curator, currently serves as the gallery's director. Transfer was created to help online artists become more connected in a physical way. The gallery's objective is to allow online artists to literally “transfer” their art into a physical context using four blank walls. Given these walls, artists can revert to drawing, painting, sculpture, or photography to recreate their online work. In 2014, Transfer hosted 10 solo exhibitions, along with more than a dozen other events. By its third year, the gallery had been home to a total of 29 solo exhibitions and currently has 21 artists with whom it collaborates regularly. Artists who have exhibited work at the gallery include Rosa Menkman, Carla Gannis, Marisa Olson, and Lorna Mills.

Cooper Park is an urban park in Brooklyn, New York City, between Maspeth Avenue, Sharon Street, Olive Street, and Morgan Avenue in East Williamsburg. It was established in 1895, and covers 6.40 acres.Cooper Park was once the site of an old glue factory owned by American industrialist Peter Cooper. He started his glue business in Kips Bay, in 1821. In 1838, he moved his business from Kips Bay to Maspeth Avenue in Brooklyn. Cooper retired from the glue business in 1838 and sold the factory to his family members. In 1878, the business left Maspeth Avenue, and eventually left Brooklyn for good in the 20th century. In 1895, Cooper's family sold the site of the Maspeth Avenue factory to The City of Brooklyn for $55,000. From there, the site was cleared and became Cooper Park.The main attractions of the park include a dog run and the Carnegie Playground. There is also a variety of sports facilities including two basketball courts, four handball courts, two tennis courts, two volleyball courts and a skate park. A public bathroom and spray shower are present as well.

Grand Street was a train station along the Evergreen Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. The station was built on May 15, 1878 by the South Side Railroad of Long Island between Metropolitan Avenue and Grand Street (Brooklyn) at the East River Ferry. From the Greenpoint Terminal it took 10 minutes to get here. Grand Street was closed on September 28, 1885.

Brooklyn Steel is a 1800-capacity music venue in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States. In 2018 Brooklyn Steel was named one of the 10 best live music venues in America by Rolling Stone Magazine.Construction for the venue began in July 2016, and it opened on April 6, 2017, with a five-night run of sold-out concerts by American rock band LCD Soundsystem. The venue contains a main floor, a balcony, forty restrooms, and three bars. The name of the venue was inspired by the fact that the building was originally used as a steel manufacturing plant. Much of the steel from the original building was repurposed for the venue.

The Cooper Park Houses is a Public Housing Complex owned by NYCHA and it has eleven 7-story buildings. It is located between Kingsland to Morgan Avenues and between Frost Street to Maspeth Avenue in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It has 1,440 residents as of 2025. This housing complex was built in June 1953 and named after the adjacent Cooper Park. In 2017, NYCHA Unveils NextGen for the newest addition at the Parking Lot in this Complex with residents engaging to inform a release for Request for Proposals and NYCHA had committed to continuing to providing newer affordable housing and part of the 10-year strategic plan to repair and rebuild public housing to improve the conditions of each building.

Greenpoint Hospital (300 Skillman Avenue) opened in 1914 and closed in 1982. As of 2016 final disposition of the hospital site's ten buildings were still pending.

East Williamsburg is a name for the area in the northwestern portion of Brooklyn, New York City. East Williamsburg consists roughly of what was the 3rd District of the Village of Williamsburg and what is now called the East Williamsburg In-Place Industrial Park (EWIPIP), bounded by the neighborhoods of Northside and Southside Williamsburg to the west, Greenpoint to the north, Bushwick to the south and southeast, and both Maspeth and Ridgewood in Queens to the east. Much of this area is still referred to as either Bushwick, Williamsburg, or Greenpoint with the term East Williamsburg falling out of use since the 1990s.

Saint Cecilia's is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Diocese of Brooklyn located at North Henry and Herbert streets, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York. It is named for Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music. It is a contributing building in the Greenpoint Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The High School for Enterprise, Business, and Technology is a public high school located on the fourth floor of the Grand Street Educational Campus at 850 Grand Street and Bushwick Avenue in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The school was opened in the fall of 1996 following the closing of Eastern District High School in the spring of that year. The school observes a student dress code. The principal is Holger Carrillo.

Eastern District High School is a defunct public high school in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York City. It was originally located at Driggs Avenue and South 3rd Street, then 227 Marcy Avenue, and finally 850 Grand Street. It was a comprehensive high school. Eastern District High School operated from 1900 to mid-1996, when it was closed because of poor academic performance. The current campus at Grand Street opened in 1981. After Eastern District High School closed, the building was rebranded in late 1996 as the Grand Street Campus, with several smaller schools operating within the same facilities.

The Grand Street station is a station on the BMT Canarsie Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Grand Street and Bushwick Avenue in Brooklyn, it is served by the L train at all times.

Mussel Island was an island in Newtown Creek located near its confluence with Maspeth Creek, between the Brooklyn neighborhood of Greenpoint and the Queens neighborhood of Maspeth in New York City. Prior to industrialization, Newtown Creek hosted a sizable population of mussel on its bottom and at the confluence of Maspeth Creek and Newtown Creek was Mussel Island, an uninhabited patch of marshland that survived into the 1940s. With hundreds of thousands of vessels traveling through Newtown Creek in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this island posed a navigation hazard, forcing boats to tightly swerve around it.In 1921, Congress approved a dredging project for Newtown Creek that proposed to eliminate Mussel Island in favor of a "turning basin" that would enable larger vessels to turn around. By the end of the following decade, the project was completed and the island disappeared beneath the water. Map company Hagstrom continued to mark the island on its maps until October 2000, when a reader asked The New York Times about the island and Hagstrom conceded that it no longer belonged on the map.
