Rattlestick Theater is a non-profit off-Broadway theater based in the West Village, New York.

The Village Vanguard is a jazz club at Seventh Avenue South in Greenwich Village, New York City. The club was opened on February 22, 1935, by Max Gordon. Originally, the club presented folk music and beat poetry, but it became primarily a jazz music venue in 1957. It has hosted many highly renowned jazz musicians since then, and today is the oldest operating jazz club in New York City.

The West Village is a neighborhood in the western section of the larger Greenwich Village neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, New York City.The traditional boundaries of the West Village are the Hudson River to the west, West 14th Street to the north, Greenwich Avenue to the east, and Christopher Street to the south. McCarthy Square is a park in Manhattan, New York, named after Bernard Joseph McCarthy. The park and its memorial flagstaff, known as the Bernard McCarthy World War II Memorial, were dedicated in June 1943.

BABY BRASA is an organic Peruvian group of restobars and catering service based in New York City, founded in 2016 by restaurateur, television personality and singer Franco Noriega. Baby Brasa is currently owned by Milan Kelez, who also serves as entertainment director and leads the front of the house at Baby Brasa. Milan Kelez is active on the New York social scene and is said to be capable of pulling in serious starpower. The two-story flagship location in the West Village serves contemporary Peruvian cuisine, fusion dishes, and signature cocktails. The West Village location is also an entertainment venue with weekly live music performances. The company's first location opened as a small eatery in the Lower East Side, later expanding to the West Village.

Sweet Basil was a jazz club in New York City's Greenwich Village, located at 88 Seventh Avenue South. Founded in 1974 by Sharif Esmat, it was considered among the most prominent New York City jazz clubs of its day. Many jazz albums were recorded live at Sweet Basil, including Cecil Taylor's Iwontunwonsi, McCoy Tyner's Live at Sweet Basil (1989) and Solar: Live at Sweet Basil, and the Jean-Michel Pilc Trio's Together: Live at Sweet Basil. From 1981 to 1992, the club was owned by Phyllis Litoff and her husband Mel Litoff.The club closed in April 2001.

Smalls Jazz Club is a jazz club at 183 West 10th Street, Greenwich Village, New York City. Established in 1994, it earned a reputation in the 1990s as a "hotbed for New York's jazz talent" with a "well-deserved reputation as one of the best places in the city to see rising talent in the New York jazz scene". Its jazz musicians are noted for being "talented, though largely unknown" while its music is characterized as "modern versions of bebop and hard bop". The club's main room is in a basement with a capacity of 50 people that expanded to 60 people. Smalls Jazz Club should not be confused with Smalls Paradise in Harlem, which was founded in 1925 by Ed Smalls and closed in the 1950s.

Greenwich Avenue, formerly Greenwich Lane, is a southeast-northwest avenue located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It extends from the intersection of 6th Avenue and 8th Street at its southeast end to its northwestern end at 8th Avenue between 14th Street and 13th Street. It is sometimes confused with Greenwich Street. Construction of West Village Park, bounded by Greenwich Avenue, 7th Avenue, and 12th Street, began in 2016.

Nick's (Nick's Tavern) was a tavern and jazz club located at the northwest corner of 10th Street and 7th Avenue in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of the borough of Manhattan, New York City, which was at its peak in the 1940s and 1950s. Many jazz artists performed at the club including Bill Saxton (a Friday night regular), Pee Wee Russell, Muggsy Spanier, Miff Mole, and Joe Grauso, among others. Artists like Miles Davis and John Coltrane used to visit the pub to relax after their own gigs. During the early 1950s, the club was noted for its regular Phil Napoleon and The Original Memphis Five Dixieland performances.

The Julius sip-in was a protest at the Julius Bar in New York City on April 21, 1966, to fight state laws which prevented businesses from serving homosexuals. The protest was organized by the Mattachine Society who were inspired by the sit-in movement. A resulting lawsuit at the New York State Supreme Court found that being gay was not indecent behavior and thus service could not be denied to an individual simply for being homosexual.

Mulry Square is a triangular parking lot at the southwest corner of Greenwich Avenue and Seventh Avenue South in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City. It was once thought to be the site of a wedge-shaped diner that was the inspiration for Edward Hopper's famous painting Nighthawks. The parking lot's fencing supports Tiles for America, a September 11 memorial consisting of some 6,000 tiles created across the country. The square, which is owned by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, is named after Thomas M. Mulry, founder of the Emigrant Savings Bank and devoted Vincentian. In 2007, the square was considered as a site for a New York City Subway ventilation plant.
