An old age home viz , 'Arulagam' is located inside the campus of Church of South India (CSI) in Pasumalai. A 'Tree Walk' in awareness of the trees and greens, was organised here in the premises of CSI, by members of 'Madurai Green' associated with 'HCL foundation'.

Thiruparankundram, also spelled Tirupparankundram or Tiruparangundram, is a neighbourhood in Madurai city in Tamil Nadu, India. It is about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) from Periyar Bus Terminus, the centre of the city and constitutes the southwest part of the Madurai city . The town's landmark and fame is the huge monolithic rock hill that towers to a height of 1,048 feet (319 m) and has a circumference of over 2 miles (3.2 km). It is a home to many ancient and historic monuments including Jain caves, some protected as India's national monuments. As of 2011, the town had a population of 48,810. It was incorporated into a new township in 2011, and the first local body election for the corporation was held on 18 October 2011.

It is also one of the 6 state legislative assembly constituencies included in the Virudhunagar Lok Sabha constituency. It is one of the oldest assembly segments in Tamil Nadu existence since 1957 election.

Arulmigu Murugan Temple, Thiruparankundram is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Murugan (also known as Kartikeya and Murugan) at Thiruparankundram, Tamilnadu, India. It is regarded as one of the "six Abodes of Murugan". The temple is built in rock-cut architecture and believed to have been built by the Pandyas during the 6th century. According to the legend. it is where Murugan slayed the demon Surapadman and married Deivayanai, the daughter of the king of heaven, Indra. Also, Murugan is said to have worshipped his father Shiva here as Parangirinathar. The temple is located 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from Madurai in India. In the main shrine, apart from Murugan, the deities Shiva, Vishnu, Vinayaka (Ganesha) and Durga are housed. The temple follows Shaiva tradition of worship. Six daily rituals and three yearly festivals are held at the temple, of which the Kantha Sashti festival during the Tamil month of Aippasi (October - November) being the most prominent. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Thuvariman is a neighbourhood in Madurai district, of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India. It is located at an altitude of about 168 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 9°56′59.6″N 78°03′55.4″E (i.e., 9.949900°N, 78.065400°E). Madurai, Arasaradi, Kalavasal, Arappalayam, Koodal Nagar, Vilangudi, Thathaneri, Simmakkal, South Gate and Yanaikkal, Paravai and Samayanallur are some of the important neighbourhoods of Thuvariman. As per the 2011 Census of India, Thuvariman had a total population of 4,962. Out of this males constituted 2,507 and females constituted 2,455. The average sex ratio of Thuvariman was 979/1,000. The population of Children in Thuvariman, of age 0-6 years was 575, which was 12% of its total population. Out of this, 302 were male children and 273 were female children. The child sex ratio was 904 which was less than the average child sex ratio which was 979. Its literary rate was 80.2%. It was higher than the literacy rate of Madurai district which was 74.8%. Out of this, its male literacy rate was 88.25% and female literacy rate was 72%. Madurai City has a renowned Meenakshi Amman temple. Similar to this construction but a small temple is situated in Thuvariman. This neighbourhood also has a temple viz., Karuppannasamy temple. These two temples are under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
