Formally named Decatur Terrace Steps and Fountain, the nickname is a reference to the Spanish Steps in Rome. Washington's Spanish Steps are listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing feature in the Sheridan-Kalorama Historic District, designated in 1989.

The Russian Cultural Center (Russian: Российский центр науки и культуры в Вашингтоне) is a museum and building in Washington, D.C., supporting Russian culture in the United States and preserving its causes and beliefs. It calls itself, "the official home of Russian culture in the United States," and hosts public events featuring visiting Russian musicians and artists to foster better relations and understanding between the U.S. and Russia. The center is operated by Rossotrudnichestvo, an autonomous agency of the Russian Foreign Ministry.The building was a private residence before it was purchased by the Soviet government in 1957. It was initially used as a school for the children of embassy staff, then housed the Soviet consulate in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1998, the building was designated as the Russian Cultural Center by a bilateral agreement. The center opened on December 10, 1999, with an announcement by Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space.Since at least 2001, the center has organized all-expenses-paid cultural exchange trips to Russia for young Americans. The trips included lodging at luxury hotels and meetings with Russian officials.

The Embassy of Myanmar in Washington, D.C. is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the United States. The embassy is located at 2300 S Street NW, Washington, D.C., in the Kalorama neighborhood. The building is a 1905 former residence designed by noted architect Appleton P. Clark, Jr., and was the home of President Herbert Hoover before and after his presidency. The ambassadorial residence is in the Charles Evans Hughes House on R Street. The current ambassador of Myanmar to the United States is Aung Lynn.

The Codman–Davis House is a four-story, red brick, 1906, classical revival house in Washington, D.C. at 2145 Decatur Place NW (in the Kalorama neighborhood). It was designed by Ogden Codman Jr. for his cousin, Martha Codman of Washington, DC and Newport, Rhode Island. She also commissioned his design of the Codman Carriage House and Stable, built nearby. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1995 the house served as the residence of the Thai ambassador.

Its full title is the American Fazl Mosque, which helps to distinguish it from its sister mosque, the Fazl Mosque, London, both of which were the first mosques in the capitals of the U.S. and the U.K., respectively. Located a few minutes from the White House, and neighboring several embassies, Fazl Mosque opened seven years prior to the Islamic Center of Washington and is the longest serving mosque in the nation's capital.Sir Zafrullah Khan, who in addition to serving as president of the United Nations General Assembly and President of the International Court of Justice at the Hague, was a companion of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835–1908), as well as a notable scholar of Islam. The mosque served as the headquarters of the Ahmadiyya movement in the United States from 1950 until 1994, when it was moved to Baitur Rehman Mosque in Silver Spring, Maryland.The American Fazl Mosque was built as a private residence in 1912. The Colonial Revival-style building is designated as a contributing property to the Sheridan-Kalorama Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Built in 1907, it was from 1930 to 1948 the home of Charles Evans Hughes (1862–1948), a prominent Republican politician and from 1930 to 1941 the Chief Justice of the United States. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1972 and is a contributing property to the Sheridan-Kalorama Historic District. It presently serves as the official residence of the Ambassador of Myanmar to the United States.
