Capalaba is an electoral division of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in the state of Queensland, Australia. The electorate is centred on the suburb of Capalaba, in Redland City east of Brisbane, and includes parts of the adjoining suburbs of Alexandra Hills and Birkdale.

Capalaba Library is one of three mainland branch libraries of the Redland City Council, Queensland, along with those at Cleveland and Victoria Point; there are other branches on the Redland City Council’s islands.

The Capalaba Bus Station, at Capalaba, Queensland, is serviced by TransLink bus routes. It is part of the Capalaba Shopping Precinct and is the primary interchange for TransLink's Eastern Region. It is in Zone 2 of the TransLink integrated public transport system. The Interchange is laid out in square island with platforms (A-D) on each side surrounding landscaping work, community art pieces, shelters and an amenities block. Each platform can accommodate two buses and on the opposite side of Platforms A and B is parking for up to six buses. A fifth platform (E) is located on the opposite side of Redland Bay Road and it services morning express routes and some school services.

Alexandra Hills State High School is an independent coeducational public secondary school located in Alexandra Hills in the local government area of Redland City in Queensland, Australia. The school has a total enrolment of more than 1500 students each year, with an official count of 1568 students in August 2020.Since 2021, the school's role of Principal has been held by Julie-Ann McCullough. The school also consists of five Deputy Principals, one Business Services Manager, thirteen Heads of Department, six Year Level Coordinators, two Guidance/Indigenous Affairs Officers, two International Student Coordinators, one School Chaplain, one Industry Liaison Officer, one Student Welfare Officer and 64 teaching staff.

Capalaba West was an outer suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, located 17 kilometres (11 mi) east of the CBD.The Capalaba region was initially settled in 1859 when the Queensland Government offered incentives to encourage immigration. The Department of Environment and Resource Management sought public comment on the proposal to discontinue the use of the name Capalaba West as a suburb and to include the area in the adjoining suburb of Chandler. On 30 April 2010, Capalaba West was absorbed into the suburb of Chandler.

Thorneside railway station is located on the Cleveland line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the suburb of Thorneside in Redland City.

Tingalpa Creek is a creek in South East Queensland. It flows along Brisbane's south east boundary with Redland City Council. On early maps the creek was called both Tunim Creek and Tangulba Creek.The waterway serves as important wildlife corridor on the city's fringe. The creek also provides limited kayaking and fishing opportunities. The creek's water catchment area covers 150 km².Tingalpa Creek has its headwaters in Venman Bushland National Park at Mount Cotton and the Brisbane Koala Park in Burbank. It then flows a short distance through Sheldon to the waters of the Leslie Harrison Dam. The creek below the dam, now tidal, continues along its winding course through Capalaba West, Birkdale and Ransome. In this area the creek which is popular with recreational anglers, is bordered by the Capalaba Regional Park, John Fredericks Park, Sciacca Sportsfield to the east and Tingalpa Creek Reserve on its western side. The Cleveland railway line crosses the creek before it flows to Moreton Bay at Thorneside, Queensland. Local council have developed a Tingalpa Creek Waterway Management Plan to coordinate management practices.

Capalaba State College is a P-12 state school. The College consists of both Junior (Prep-Year 6) and Senior (Year 7 - Year 12) campuses. It is situated in the Redlands. Originally made up of separate Primary and Secondary Schools, they both amalgamated in 2005, and formed Capalaba State College.
