Kilmainham Mills

The Richmond Tower is an historical gateway to the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham, Dublin, designed by Francis Johnston and named after the Duke of Richmond, the Lord Lieutenant at the time. Built between 1810 and 1811, the gateway originally stood beside the River Liffey at Barrack Bridge at the junction of Watling Street and Victoria Quay, the tower had to be moved after the building of nearby Kingsbridge Station in 1846 caused traffic congestion at the site. The tower was dismantled and erected at its present location the following year at the expense of the railway company.Following the move the structure was renamed from Watling Street Gatehouse to Richmond Tower, though it is sometimes referred to as the West Gate due to its location west of the main hospital building. Johnston had placed his personal coat of arms above the arch, concealed by a piece of wood painted to match the stone, his idea being that his arms would be revealed to future generations after the wood became rotten. However, this was uncovered when the gateway was taken down for removal. The current coat of arms on the gateway is that of the Royal Hospital.The tower is made from Dublin calp limestone.

Bully's Acre (officially, the Hospital Fields; Irish: Acra an Bhulaí) is a former public cemetery located near the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin, Ireland. It is 3.7 acres (1.5 ha) in extent.

Kilmainham Gaol (Irish: Príosún Chill Mhaighneann) is a former prison in Kilmainham, Dublin, Ireland. It is now a museum run by the Office of Public Works, an agency of the Government of Ireland. Many Irish revolutionaries, including the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising, were imprisoned and executed in the prison by the orders of the UK Government.

Inchicore Public Library is an art deco style public library in Inchicore, Dublin designed by Robert Sorley Lawrie working in the city architect's office under Horace O'Rourke.This building was one of four similar libraries built by Dublin Corporation between 1935 and 1940 in the Dublin suburbs of Phibsborough, Ringsend, Drumcondra and Inchicore.

Suir Road (Irish: Bóthar na Siúire) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2004 as a stop on the Red Line. The stop is located at the intersection of Suir Road, Davitt Road and Dolphin Road, next to a Canal Lock.To the west of the stop, the tram line runs alongside the bank of the Grand Canal. To the east, the line crosses the canal on the Ann Devlin Bridge (named after prominent Irish republican Anne Devlin, whose name is mis-spelt on the dedication plaque), and then continues along the route of a derelict branch of the canal (the remaining navigable portion of the canal continues south-east, forming a ring around central Dublin).The stop is also served by Dublin Bus routes 68, 68a, and 123. Suir Road is intended to be a stop on the proposed Luas line to Lucan.

Island Bridge (Irish: Droichead na hInse) (formerly Sarah or Sarah's Bridge) is a road bridge spanning the River Liffey, in Dublin, Ireland which joins the South Circular Road to Conyngham Road at the Phoenix Park. Island Bridge and the surrounding area are so named because of the island formed here by the creation of a mill race towards the right bank while the main current flows to the left. The River Camac emerges from a tunnel further downstream towards Dublin Heuston railway station.

It was formerly known as Inchicore Vocational School when established in 1957. The college is only engaged in further education and has no second level courses or classes. Awards are provided at FETAC Level 5 and 6 as well as BTEC HND. Some part-time childcare courses are also offered at FETAC level 4 and 5. Inchicore College operates an extensive European Links programme with partners in most member states of the EU. Students have the opportunity to participate in a work experience placement funded by the European Commission through the Leonardo da Vinci Programme. Inchicore College works with its European partners developing new programmes funded through the Commenius, Grundtvig and Leonardo da Vinci programmes, all of which are part of the Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013.

The Battle of Islandbridge, also called the Battle of Áth Cliath, took place on 14 September 919, between a coalition of native Irish, led by Niall Glúndub, overking of the Northern Uí Néill and High King of Ireland, and the Dublin-based Vikings of the Uí Ímair, led by Sitric Cáech. It was one in a series of battles initiated by the native Irish to attempt to drive the Vikings of the Uí Ímair from Ireland. The battle was a decisive victory for Sitric Cáech and the Uí Ímair, with Niall Glúndub and five other Irish kings dying in the battle.

Good Counsel GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Dublin, Ireland. The club is based in Drimnagh in the south of Dublin.

Forbidden Fruit is a music festival that has been held annually at the shared grounds between the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin, Ireland since 2011. It traditionally takes place over the June bank holiday weekend (first weekend of June) and was launched as a city-based alternative to rural camping festivals. The event is known for its urban setting and diverse line-ups in its early years, which featured a mix of indie, hip-hop, electronic, and pop acts. Over time, the festival gradually shifted its focus towards electronic music, becoming a key date on the Irish electronic music calendar. Past performers have included Lorde, Aphex Twin, Justice, Flume, Skepta, Tame Impala, James Blake, and Bon Iver.

The Royal Hospital Kilmainham (Irish: Ospidéal Ríochta Chill Mhaighneann) in Kilmainham, Dublin, is a former 17th-century hospital at Kilmainham in Ireland. The structure now houses the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
