Blackland is a town and near-ghost town in Rockwall County, Texas, United States. It is located approximately four miles southeast of Rockwall, Texas, the county seat on State Highway 276. The town had a population of 49 residents in the 1990 census. The Texas State Historical Association maintains an article on the town on their website.

Poetry is a town in Kaufman and Hunt counties, Texas, United States. It is located at the intersection of Farm to Market Roads 986 and 1565, approximately six miles north of Terrell. The population, as of 2020, is estimated to be 2,069. Originally known as Turner's Point, a post office and school were established in 1858. In 1876, the community was renamed Poetry. The new name was suggested by local merchant Maston Ussery, who said that the area in springtime reminded him of a poem. Poetry's population peaked at around 234 in 1904. Its post office closed in 1905 and service was consolidated within nearby Terrell. A 1984 incorporation vote was approved by local residents but was invalidated by the Kaufman County Commissioners Court due to technicalities. Today, Poetry is a widely dispersed, lightly populated community. Public education in the community of Poetry is provided by Terrell Independent School District and Quinlan Independent School District. A private school, Poetry Christian School, also operates in the town. In the 2020 election, the residents of Poetry again voted to incorporate.

Colquitt is an unincorporated community in Kaufman County, located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

McLendon-Chisholm is a city in Rockwall County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,373 at the 2010 census.

The Porter Farm, also known as Walter C. Porter Farm, is a historic farm property near Terrell in Kaufman County in the U.S. state of Texas. Porter Farm was the site of the first cooperative farm demonstration, organized in 1903 by Dr. Seaman A. Knapp. The project successfully demonstrated methods to expand crop production. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Extension Service developed from this foundational project. The property was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Porter Farm had been selected by the community to participate in the project, with $1000 set aside to cover potential losses. Knapp worked with Walter Porter to set aside 70 acres (28 ha) of the farm, on which the experimental use of fertilizers on some plots and rotation with nitrogen-fixing legumes doubled normal yields of cotton. The success of this project led to the creation of government Extension Service programs, which went on to develop methods to combat boll weevil infestation in the area. The Porter Farm is located about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Terrell, on FM986. The total farm property was historically about 500 acres (200 ha). The property includes the Porter homestead, a 1-1/2 story Cape style frame house located on the southeast side of FM986, while the demonstration land is mainly on the northwest side. Today a tomato barn, which is not historically significant, stands on that land.

The airport itself is located in Hunt County. The airport is used solely for general aviation purposes.

Its county seat is Rockwall. The county and city are named for a wall-like subterranean rock formation that runs throughout the county. Rockwall County is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan statistical area. It was one of the top 25 fastest-growing counties in the U.S. in 2010. Rockwall County is listed as the sixth-wealthiest county in Texas. Cities in Rockwall county include Rockwall, Heath, Royse City, Fate, McClendon-Chisholm, Mobile City, and part of Rowlett.

The Warren-Crowell House is a historic house in Terrell, Texas, U.S.. It was designed in the Prairie School style with a Colonial Revival porch by architect James E. Flanders, and completed in 1903. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 23, 1980. The house was purchased in January 2023 by a couple who love old houses. The Mansion had fallen on hard times, this grand home was in need of restoration. An eleven-month extensive restoration project was completed in December 2023. The property is once again a credit to the Historical homes of Terrel, Texas and the state.

Fate is a city located in the center of Rockwall County, Texas, United States. The population in 2020 was 17,958, an increase from 6,357 in 2010, and 602 in 2000.

The Matthew Cartwright House is a historic house in Terrell, Texas. It was built in 1882-1883 for Matthew Cartwright, a rancher and banker. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since April 4, 1979.

Royse City High School is a public secondary school located in Royse City, Texas, United States and is the only high school in the Royse City Independent School District. The current building opened in the fall of 2006, and is located in the southwestern part of Hunt County. The school serves students from Collin County, Hunt County, and Rockwall County. In 2011, the school was rated "Academically Acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. The school garnered national attention when a student wore a Confederate flag as a cape on campus, April 23, 2019; subsequently, "white power" was shouted at a black television reporter from a vehicle leaving the school.
