Ahmedabad City was a former taluk of Ahmedabad District in the western part of India state Gujarat. Around 19–20 March 2012, this taluk was bifurcated into Ahmedabad City (East) and Ahmedabad City (West).Many villages in the taluk were included under the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The headquarters of both the newly formed taluks is Ahmedabad. The Sabarmati river is taken as the dividing line dividing the talukas. That is, considering the Sabarmati as the boundary between these two talukas, the areas east of it were included in Ahmedabad City (East) taluka and the portion west of the river was included in Ahmedabad City (West) taluka.

Ahmedabad Metro is a rapid transit system for the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat state of India. Currently the System is 58.66 km (36.450 mi) and has 38 stations. The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited was established in February 2010 and the 40.03 km (24.873 mi) long Phase–1 of the project was approved in October 2013 with two corridors, North–South and East–West. The construction started on 14 March 2015. A 6.5 km (4.039 mi) section of East–West corridor was inaugurated on 4 March 2019 and opened to the public on 6 March 2019. The rest of the Phase–1 was inaugurated on 30 September 2022 and opened to public on 2 and 6 October 2022; except the Thaltej Gam end and three stations.

Ahmad Shah's Mosque, also known as Shahi Jam-e-Masjid or Juni Juma Masjid is the oldest mosque of Ahmedabad, India.

Bhadra Fort is situated in the walled city area of Ahmedabad, India. It was built by Ahmad Shah I in 1411. The Ellis Bridge is a century-old bridge in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It bridges the western and eastern parts of the city across the Sabarmati river. This bowstring arch truss bridge was the first bridge in Ahmedabad, constructed in 1892. Concrete wings were added on either side in 1997 and it was renamed the Swami Vivekananda Bridge.

Magen Abraham Synagogue is the only Jewish synagogue of Gujarat state situated in Ahmedabad, India. It was built in 1934 using donations from members of the Bene Israel Jewish community of the state.
