Nostrand Avenue was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line. The station was located at the intersection of Myrtle and Nostrand Avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The station opened in 1889, and closed in 1969.

On December 20, 2014, Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley shot and killed Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu — two on-duty New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers — in the Bedford–Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. Brinsley then fled into the New York City Subway, where he committed suicide. Earlier in the day, before he killed Ramos and Liu, Brinsley had shot and wounded his ex-girlfriend Shaneka Thompson in Baltimore after initially pointing the gun at his own head.

John Wayne Elementary School (P.S. 380), is an elementary school, located at 370 Marcy Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Dedicated in honor of John Wayne on October 28, 1982, "John Wayne Elementary School Day".John Wayne's seven children attended the dedication. Inside the school is a 38-foot mosaic mural commission by New York artist Knox Martin[1] entitled "John Wayne and the American Frontier".John Wayne Elementary School was in the news in 2007 when it was reported that "Subway Hero" Wesley Autrey was working at the school.

St. George's Protestant Episcopal Church, also known as St. George's Episcopal/Anglican Church, is a historic Episcopal church at 800 Marcy Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, in New York City. It was built in 1887 in the Gothic Revival style. It is constructed of red brick with light stone trim in a cruciform plan. Attached to the church is a small, one story Sunday school building. It was designed by architect Richard M. Upjohn (1828-1903).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The church continues to hold weekly worship services and Bible studies.

Intermediate School 318 (IS 318; also known as the Eugenio Maria de Hostos School) is a public junior high school at 101 Walton Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York City. Most of the school's 1,623 students, who are sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders, are from Williamsburg. The school has 134 teachers.Over 70% of the students come from families whose income is below the poverty line. Over 90% of the students are of Latino, Black, or Asian/Pacific descent. The school's chess program has been called the best middle-school program in the United States, and in 2012 the school's team became the first middle school team to win the United States Chess Federation national high school championship. The school's team was followed and featured in a 2012 documentary film entitled Brooklyn Castle.

Union Grounds was a baseball park located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. The grounds opened in 1862, its inaugural match being played on May 15. It was the first baseball park enclosed entirely by a fence, thereby allowing proprietor William Cammeyer or his tenant to charge admission. This permitted paying customers to watch the games from benches in a stand while non-paying spectators could only watch from embankments outside the grounds.

Public School 71K is a historic school building located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York City. It was built in 1888–1889 to designs by James W. Naughton. It is a symmetrical three story, brick building with stone trim in the Second Empire style. It features a tall central tower with a high mansard roof and original iron cresting.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.Today, the building serves as a Beis Rochel Satmar girls' school and a joy hall. This building has an exact twin in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn: the Excellence Charter School at 225 Patchen Ave.

The Lorimer Street station is a local station on the BMT Jamaica Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Lorimer Street and Broadway in Brooklyn, it is served by the J train at all times except weekdays in the peak direction and the M train at all times except late nights. The Z train skips this station when it operates.
