Kyiv History Museum

Teatralna (Ukrainian: Театральна, (listen)) is a station on the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line of the Kyiv Metro system. The station serves as a transfer point, via a pedestrian walkway connecting it to the Zoloti Vorota station on the Syretsko-Pecherska Line. The station was opened on 6 November 1987, between the Universytet and Khreshchatyk stations which were opened 27 years earlier. Currently there is a proposal for a second entrance to the station.The station owes its name to the Kyiv Opera Theatre located a few blocks away, and Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theater of Russian Drama, next to the metro entrance. Prior to 1992, the station was known as Leninska (Ukrainian: Ленiнська, Russian: Ленинская, romanized: Leninskaya) from its location on Leninska Street (renamed to Khmelnytska Street), in reference to Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin.

National Museum of Literature of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Національний музей літератури України) is a national museum in the former Pavlo Galagan Collegium's main structure in Kyiv. It covers Ukrainian literature's development from the ninth century to the present. The museum has a branch, the Kyiv Literary Memorial Museum in the apartment of Mykola Bazhan.

Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Інститут математики Національної академії наук України) is a government-owned research institute in Ukraine that carries out basic research and trains highly qualified professionals in the field of mathematics. It was founded on 13 February 1934.

The Institute of Encyclopaedic Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is a Ukrainian state-supported academic research and publishing organization based in Kуiv (Tereshchenkivs'ka St, 3, Shevchenkivs'kyi, Kyiv), Ukraine. 50°26′39.54″N 30°30′56.91″E Its main lines of research activities are: Fundamental, pilot and applied encyclopedia studies; Elaboration of scholarly and methodological principles for producing various types of encyclopedias; Studying, analyzing and generalizing international and national experience in encyclopedic knowledge, in particular, in preparation and printing of encyclopedias;

National Museum Taras Shevchenko (Ukrainian: Націона́льний музе́й Тара́са Шевче́нка) is a museum in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine, dedicated to the life and work of the painter and national poet, Taras Shevchenko.

The Vladimir Lenin monument in Kyiv was a statue dedicated to Vladimir Lenin, the founder of the Soviet Union in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The larger than life-size (3.45 meters [11.32 feet]) Lenin monument was built by Russian sculptor Sergey Merkurov from the same red Karelian stone as Lenin's Mausoleum. It was displayed at the 1939 New York World's Fair and erected on Kyiv's main Khreshchatyk Street (at the intersection of Shevchenko Boulevard, opposite the Bessarabsky Market) on 5 December 1946. The statue was toppled from its pedestal and crushed by protesters on 8 December 2013, as part of the Euromaidan events, when many other Soviet statues were toppled. The plinth remains in place, and has become at times a site of political artwork, and arguments. Since 2016 various sculptures or installations have been exhibitioned in front of the plinth.Since 2015 (all) monuments connected with communist themes and/or persons are illegal in Ukraine.

The Kyiv National Academic Molodyy Theatre (Ukrainian: Київський національний академічний Молодий театр) is a theatre in Kyiv in Ukraine. It was founded in 1979 and first played on 26 April 1980, with a focus on progressive productions. It is also known simply as Molodyy Theatre (Young Theatre), and addresses people "young in mind". It is a member of the European Theatre Convention, and became a national institution in 2019.

Prorizna Street (Ukrainian: Вулиця Прорізна) is a street located in central Kyiv, Ukraine. Prorizna Street is located between the Khreshchatyk and Volodymyrska Street. The first reference to the street was found on an 1848 Kyiv city map. It was originally named "Martynivska Street." In the 1850s, the street was also known under two additional names: Zolotokhreschenska and Prorizna. From 1863 to 1919, the street was officially named Vasylchykovska, after Kyiv General-Governor I.I.Vasylchikov. However, its current name, Prorizna, was also widely used. From 1919 until 1990, the street was named after Bolshevik leader Yakov Sverdlov. It was damaged in 1941 and remained ruined during the German occupation of Kyiv, from 1941 to 1943, being eventually restored after World War II. The street officially changed to its historical name, Prorizna, in 1990. Adjoining streets are: Pushkinska, Borysa Grinchenka and Patorzhinskogo. There is also another Prorizna Street in Kyiv, located in Kyiv's Bilychi suburb.

Kyiv City Council (Ukrainian: Київська міська рада, romanized: Kyivska miska rada), also known as Kyivrada (Ukrainian: Київрада), is the city council of Kyiv municipality, the highest representative body of the city community. The members of city council are directly elected by Kyivans and the council is chaired by the Mayor of Kyiv (who is also directly elected in a separate election independent of the council election) or the City Council Secretary (elected among the council members). The deputies are elected for five-year terms.The council meets in a 1950s City Council building constructed in neo-classical Stalinist architectural style on Khreschatyk, the city's main street. The most recent Kyiv local election (including Mayoral elections) took place on 25 October 2020.

The Central Council of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Українська Центральна Рада, Ukrayins'ka Tsentral'na rada) (also called the Tsentralna Rada or the Central Rada) was the All-Ukrainian council (soviet) that united deputies of soldiers, workers, and peasants deputies as well as few members of political, public, cultural and professional organizations of the Ukrainian People's Republic. After the All-Ukrainian National Congress (19–21 April 1917), the Council became the revolutionary parliament in the interbellum lasting until the Ukrainian-Soviet War. Unlike many other councils (soviets) in the Russian Republic, bolshevization of this soviet failed completely, causing members of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolsheviks) in Ukraine, also known as Social-Democracy of Ukraine, to relocate to Kharkiv.

The Kyiv City Teacher's House (Ukrainian: Київський міський будинок учителя) also known as the Central Council House (Ukrainian: Будинок Центральної Ради) is a historical building located at 57 Volodymyrska Street, in Kyiv, Ukraine. The building is located next to the "Yellow Building" of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the Presidium Building of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Currently, it is mainly occupied by the Ukrainian Trade Union of workers of Education and Science in Kyiv. It also houses the Pedagogical museum, the museum of Ukrainian Revolution (1917-1920), the State Pedagogical and Science Library of Sukhomlynsky, and the Cultural Center "Kyianochka". Both museums are located on the second floor. The building was constructed during the Imperial era in 1909-1911 by Pavlo Alyoshyn.

The Bessarabska Square (Ukrainian: Бессарабська площа, Bessarabs'ka ploscha) is a square located at the southwest end of Khreshchatyk, the main thoroughfare of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It is located in the city's Shevchenkivskyi District (district), at the busy intersection of Khreshchatyk, Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, Velyka Vasylkivska Street, and the Krutyi Descent streets.Until the late 1840s, the square was located on the outskirts of town, where immigrants from Bessarabia in the southern regions of Ukraine would come to sell their products. Nowadays, the Bessarabska Square is one of three squares of the Khreshchatyk street complex, the others being the Maidan Nezalezhnosti and the European Square, located in the street's center and northeastern end, respectively.
