King Abdullah Mosque

Kingdom Centre (Arabic: مركز المملكة), formerly Kingdom Tower, is a 99-story, 302.3 m (992 ft) skyscraper in the al-Olaya district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. When completed in 2002, it overtook the 267-meter (876 ft) Faisaliyah Tower as the tallest tower in Saudi Arabia. It has since been surpassed and, as of 2021, is the fifth-tallest skyscraper in the country, whose tallest two buildings are the Abraj Al Bait Towers and the Capital Market Authority Tower. It is the world's third-tallest building with a hole after the Shanghai World Financial Center and the 85 Sky Tower in Taiwan. The tower was developed by Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal and designed by the team of Ellerbe Becket and Omrania, who were selected through an international design competition. It is situated on a 100,000–square-metre site and houses the 57,000-square-meter Al-Mamlaka shopping mall, offices, the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, and luxury apartments. There is a 65m skybridge atop the skyscraper.The upper third of the tower features an inverted parabolic arch topped by a public sky bridge. The sky bridge is a 300-ton steel structure, taking the form of an enclosed corridor with windows on both sides. After paying the admission fees, visitors take two elevators to reach that level.

The Al Olaya bombings was a terrorist attack which occurred in the central district of the Saudi capital Riyadh on the morning of 13 November 1995 and targeted US Army personnel present at the headquarters of the Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization Program. The attackers used a car bomb parked near the cafetria of the building, with a timing device detonation. The perpetrators were a group of militants sympathetic to the Jordan-based Palestinian-cleric Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi (famously affiliated to Abu Musab Zarqawi). The attack left seven people dead, five US Army personnel and two Indian workers, and injured 60 other people. The four perpetrators were all arrested. Saudi TV aired their confessions and they were tried, sentenced to death and executed. The aired confessions of the attackers were the first time that the name of Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi came out to the public. In a 1996 interview, al-Maqdisi confirmed to have met the perpetrators and re-confirmed it later in another 2005 televised interview. The attack did not garner a lot of media attention, but it was the first time that the organization which would later be known under the name Al-Qaeda targeted the US military.

Al-Olaya (Arabic: العليا, romanized: al-ʿulāyā), alternatively transliterated as al-Ulaya, is the central business district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located mostly in the sub-municipality of its namesake, al-Ulaya, and partially in al-Malaz and al-Ma'dher. Situated on the north side of the city, it hosts sites and local landmarks, such as the Kingdom Centre, which houses the Four Seasons luxury hotel.

STC, formerly Olaya Metro Station, is a rapid transit station that serves the Blue and Red Lines of Riyadh Metro in the al-Olaya district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located on the intersection of King Abdullah Road with King Fahad Road and Olaya Street. It covers an area of 97000 square meters. STC station precedes the King Fahad District 2 station and succeeds Al Wurud 2 station on the Blue Line. On the Red Line, it comes before the Al Wurud station and after the At Takhassussi station. Gerber Architekten won the competition for the metro station in 2012. Construction of the metro station began in 2014 and was slated to complete by 2019. In 2018, the Saudi Telecom Company was granted naming rights over the station and was thus renamed STC station.

The Princess Latifa bint Sultan bin Abdulaziz Mosque (Arabic: جامع الأميرة لطيفة بنت سلطان بن عبد العزيز) is a Sunni Islam Friday mosque in the al-Rahmaniyah neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Opened in 2013, it is named after Princess Latifa bint Sultan Al Saud, the daughter of Saudi crown prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz and granddaughter of King Abdulaziz ibn Saud, the founder of Saudi Arabia.

Narcissus Hotel and Spa Riyadh is a five-star skyscraper hotel in the al-Olaya district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Partially opened in 2013, it became fully operational by 2015. In 2017, the Boudl Tower was completed as an annex to the hotel, which stands at a height of 155 meters and, as of 2024, is the 23rd tallest building in Riyadh. It was constructed in Beaux-Arts and Neoclassical style of architecture.

Hamad Tower (Arabic: برج حمد) is a commercial skyscraper in the al-Olaya district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located next to the al-Faisaliah Tower. With a height of 163 meters (535 ft), it is the 20th tallest building in Riyadh and 34th tallest in Saudi Arabia. It was built between 2010 and 2016 and is one of the prominent landmarks of the city. The tower is named after Sheikh Hamad bin Saleh al-Hamoudi and hosts the offices of multiple multinational firms, including Atkins, Holman Fenwick Willan, Systra, Samsung and Lenovo.

Al Faisaliah Tower (Arabic: برج الفيصلية) is a pyramid-shaped commercial skyscraper and mixed-use complex located in the al-Olaya district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The 267-metre-high office tower, the centerpiece of the Foster + Partners development, it is notable for having been the first skyscraper built in Saudi Arabia, and for the monumental stained glass wall of its lobby, designed by architectural artist Brian Clarke in collaboration with Norman Foster. It was the largest building in Saudi Arabia between 2000 and 2002 and currently is the seventh tallest building in the country, after Kingdom Centre, Burj Rafal and Abraj Al Bait. The tower is named after King Faisal bin Abdulaziz, and presently ranks as the 325th tallest building in the world.

Al-Mursalat (Arabic: المرسلات, lit. 'radio installation') is a neighborhood in northern Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located west of al-Nuzha and north of the King Salman Neighborhood in the sub-municipality of al-Ulaya. It was named after the telecommunication poles in the locality that were built in the 1960s and 1970s by the German multinational conglomerate Siemens AG. The neighborhood was officially established in 1974 when Saudi real estate magnate Ibrahim Saeedan purchased almost 25 acres of land in the area. The district hosts the head office of the Saudi Telecom Company.

King Khalid Grand Mosque (Arabic: جامع الملك خالد) is a congregational mosque and an active place of worship in the Umm al-Hammam neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Built in 1987 and opened in 1988, it incorporates some elements of Turkish architecture and is one of the most prominent landmarks of Riyadh. The mosque usually gets flocked by worshippers during the month of Ramadan to perform Taraweeh prayers and on religious holidays like Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha for Salat al-Eid. It is locally known for providing Islamic funerary services to the deceased, such as ritual baths and prayers and is named after King Khalid bin Abdulaziz, whose relatives funded the mosque's construction.

The King Fahd National Library (KFNL, Arabic: مكتبة الملك فهد الوطنية) is the legal deposit and copyright library for Saudi Arabia. KFNL was established in 1983 in response to an initiative made by the people of Riyadh when King Fahd ascended the throne. The project was announced in 1983 and the implementation started in 1986. Now to this day, the library is known for its sustainability and up-to-date energy concepts.
