Konstanz-Petershausen station

The Seerhein (lit. 'Lake Rhine') is a river about four kilometres long, in the basin of Lake Constance. It is the outflow of the Upper Lake Constance and the main tributary of the Lower Lake Constance. The water level of the lower lake is about 30 cm below the level of the Upper Lake. It is considered part of the Rhine, which flows into Lake Constance as the Alpine Rhine and flows out of the Lake as the High Rhine. The Seerhein arose after the last ice age (the Würm glaciation, about 9650 BCE). Some time after this period, the water level of Lake Constance gradually dropped by about ten metres and the shallow parts fell dry. Some parts of the Seerhein still have a character a bit like a lake. The border between Germany and Switzerland runs down the center of the lower stretch of the river; the German city of Constance, the largest community on the river, is situated on both sides of the upper part.

The Hochschule Konstanz (Hochschule Konstanz für Technik, Wirtschaft und Gestaltung (HTWG)), is a German university located in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in southern Germany close to the border with Switzerland. The university is a member of Internationale Bodensee-Hochschule (International Lake Constance University). The Hochschule Konstanz plays a significant role among German universities of applied sciences. It is internationally well known for its outstanding achievements. The Hochschule Konstanz was named 2006 as one of the best German Universities of Applied Sciences in higher education (HE). Its undergraduate courses in business are consistently ranked in the top 15 in Germany.The university was established in 1906 by Alfred Wachtel and named the "Technicum Konstanz", meaning Technical School of Constance. Initially there were only three departments: engineering, technical studies, and the school for 'Werkmeister' - post graduate work.

The Alexander-von-Humboldt-Gymnasium (English: Alexander von Humboldt Gymnasium) is a Gymnasium in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The eponym is Alexander von Humboldt (1769–1859). The school has approximately 82 teachers and 985 students.

The Saint James Scots Monastery in Constance, Germany was a Benedictine monastery, which, like the other Scots monasteries, was founded by Irish monks in the course of the second phase of the Hiberno-Scottish mission. It was situated to the west of the historic city wall near the banks of the Rhine on what is known today as Schottenstraße (Scots Street).

Petershausen Abbey (Kloster, Reichskloster, Reichsstift or Reichsabtei Petershausen) was a Benedictine imperial abbey at Petershausen, now a district of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The Archaeological State Museum of Baden-Württemberg (ALM) in Konstanz is responsible for preserving, researching. and presenting archaeological finds from throughout the federal state. Together with the House of History Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart, it is one of only two museums whose purview extends over the entire state of Baden-Württemberg. The exhibition space — including that of its branch museums — is 8,717 m2 (93,830 sq ft).

Petershausen is a district of Constance. It is situated on the right bank of the Seerhein, opposite the city centre. It was named after the Petershausen Abbey.

The Old Rhine Bridge at Konstanz spans the Seerhein. It is a combined road and railway bridge. In addition to one track of the High Rhine Railway at kilometer 413.5, it carries the Konzilstraße, the road that connects the borough of Petershausen with the city centre. The road bridge carries two lanes into the city center and three lanes in the other direction. Additionally, there is a bicycle lane in both directions on the left (as seen from the city centre) and a sidewalk on the right. In the 19th century, distance markers were placed along the Rhine; they start counting kilometers at this bridge.

Stadttheater Konstanz is a theatre in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, whose history dates from 1607. The theatre operates three venues, Municipal Theatre (Stadttheater), Workshop (Werkstatt) and Hall of Mirrors (Spiegelhalle).

The Dominican Island or Constance Island (German: Dominikanerinsel or Konstanzer Insel) is an island in Lake Constance immediately east of the city of Constance. With an area of 1.8 hectares, it is one of the smaller islands in the lake. The island is separated from the city center by a six-metre-wide (20 ft) channel, and connected to it by a bridge. The island is dominated by the Steigenberger hotel, which is housed in the former Dominican convent.
