Clayton Peak

Guardsman Pass (elevation 9,717 feet (2,962 m) is a high mountain pass in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. The pass is located on the boundaries of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest (specifically the portion known as the Wasatch National Forest) to the west, and the Bonanza Flats backcountry area to the east. It is located just south of Tri-County Peak, where Summit, Wasatch, and Salt Lake counties meet, and also provides summer hiking and winter snowmobiling access to Clayton Peak at the top of Brighton ski area. It is also a trailhead for other trails in the area, though some are being moved due to the lack of space for parking and the limited sight distance for vehicles pulling out onto the roadway.

Brighton Ski Resort is a ski area located in Big Cottonwood Canyon in Brighton, Utah, United States, about 30 miles (48 km) from downtown Salt Lake City. It is owned and operated by Boyne Resorts.

The Wasatch Mountain Club Lodge, near Salt Lake City, Utah, is a log cabin built in 1929–30. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It is located on U.S. Forest Service land at the head of Big Cottonwood Canyon, on what is now Mary Lake Lane, in Brighton, Utah, about 25 miles (40 km) southeast of Salt Lake City. It is near the trailhead to Mary Lake.It is a two-story rustic log cabin lodge.It overlooks the Brighton Bowl, what is now the Brighton Ski Resort area; the ski resort developed starting from one rope tow established in 1936. The historic designation recognizes the building as one of few structures surviving from the earliest years of skiing in Utah. The lodge was used for club events and public rentals. In December 2010 the Wasatch Mountain Club transferred the building to a non-profit foundation that will manage the building for the public as an historic site with access through open houses, scheduled use for educational and cultural events, and private reservations for a cost-based fee.

Solitude Mountain Resort is a ski resort located in the Big Cottonwood Canyon of the Wasatch Mountains, thirty miles southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah. With 66 trails, 1,200 acres (4.9 km2) and 2,047 feet (624 m) vertical, Solitude is one of the smaller ski resorts near Salt Lake City, along with its neighbor Brighton. It is a family-oriented mountain, with a wider range of beginner and intermediate slopes than other nearby ski resorts; 50% of its slopes are graded "beginner" or "intermediate," the highest such ratio in the Salt Lake City area. Solitude was one of the first major US resorts to adopt an RFID lift ticket system, allowing lift lines to move more efficiently. It was followed by Alta Ski Area in 2007. Solitude is adjacent to Brighton Ski Resort near the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Solitude and Brighton offer a common "Solbright Pass" which provides access to both resorts for a nominal surcharge.

The 1963 NCAA Skiing Championships were contested at the Solitude Ski Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah at the tenth annual NCAA-sanctioned ski tournament to determine the individual and team national champions of men's collegiate alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and ski jumping in the United States.Denver, coached by Willy Schaeffler, captured their seventh, and third consecutive, national championship, again edging out rival Colorado in the team standings.Jim Page of Dartmouth repeated as Skimeister (all four events). The downhill competition on Friday was a three-way tie, won by Dave Gorsuch of Western State and Colorado's Bill Marolt and Buddy Werner, who reclaimed the alpine combined title he won two years earlier. Future Olympic bronze medalist Jimmie Heuga of Colorado won Thursday's slalom, passing teammates Marolt and Werner in the second run.

Quicksilver Gondola is a gondola located in Park City, Utah. Constructed by Doppelmayr in 2015, the gondola carries eight people per cabin and has a length of roughly 1.5 miles. It was part of a $50 million expansion program that merged the once-separate Park City Mountain and Canyons Resorts under Vail Resorts. The merger made Park City the largest lift-service ski resort in the United States.

Chad's Gap is a 120-foot (37 m) backcountry gap located in the Wasatch Mountains, approximately 0.6 miles (0.97 km) northeast of Alta Ski Area, in northern Utah, United States. One version of the structure's discovery has it that Chad Zurinskas, a local Utah resident after whom the gap was purportedly named, discovered it as a gap between two piles of mine tailings in 1999 and arranged with filmmaker Kris Ostness to make the first successful jump. The first successful jump was done by Candide Thovex. Tanner Hall aka 'Ski Boss' blew both his ankles to pieces by coming up short on the gap. He recalled it to feel like someone had loaded his ski boots with dynamite. His quote "my ankles are broken, my ankles are broke" has become famous in the snow sports world.

Cecret Lake (pronounced like Secret) is a small alpine lake in Albion Basin which is within the town limits of Alta in the U.S. state of Utah. This area is also part of the Wasatch National Forest. Cecret Lake is also a protected watershed for Salt Lake City. The United States Geological Survey officially spells the name of this lake as "Cecret Lake".The lake can be accessed in the summer by parking on the main road in Little Cottonwood Canyon and hiking up a dirt trail to the lake. The lake is surrounded by quartz monzonite, commonly mistaken for granite rock. Cecret Lake is also surrounded by the Alta and Snowbird ski resorts. Cecret Lake is considered a watershed area which supplies drinking water for Salt Lake City metropolitan area. This drinking water comes from several hundred inches of snow each year that lasts into July.
