The Veterinary College, Bangalore was established on 25 July 1958 affiliated with Mysore University. The college started in a temporary shed located in the then Mysore Serum Institute, now called the Institute of Animal Health and Veterinary Biologicals, Hebbal. The Veterinary College became a constituent college of the University of Agricultural Sciences in 1965.It became part of the newly established Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar from April 2005. The college is located on the Bangalore to Hyderabad highway at a distance of about 7 km. from Vidhana Soudha. There are 19 departments in the college - Veterinary Anatomy Veterinary Biochemistry Veterinary Physiology Veterinary Microbiology Veterinary Parasitology Veterinary Pharmacology Veterinary Public Health Veterinary Pathology Veterinary Medicine Veterinary Surgery and Radiology Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics Veterinary extension education Livestock production Management Livestock products Technology Veterinary Nutrition Animal Genetics and Breeding Poultry Science and more. The college follows the course structure laid down by the Veterinary Council of India.

The Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore was founded by Indian Physicist and Nobel Laureate C. V. Raman, and was registered as a society on 27 April 1934. Inaugurated on 31 July 1934, it began with 65 founding fellows. The first general meeting of Fellows, held on the same day, elected Raman as president, and adopted the constitution of the Academy.

Devara Jeevanahalli (or spelled as Devarajeevanahalli and popularly known as DJ Halli) is a locality in North Bangalore, India. The locality is part of Pulakeshinagar Assembly constituency and Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency. It is one of the largest slums in Bangalore.Often referred to as a sensitive area having seen its share of communal tension, the locality saw one its biggest violence in Bangalore when police station and other public property were damaged during the riots in 2020. The first Police station in the area was inaugurated in 2016. In 2016, over 350 school children at the Government Urdu Higher Primary School from Devara Jeevanahalli complained about having food poisoning and were hospitalized after having mid-day meals.

A Hindu temple situated in a small hill called Aananda Giri Hill near Hebbal, Bangalore capital city of Karnataka state, India, was originated in 13th century Chola dynasty era. The temple was renovated in 2000 (the temple itself), 2009 (surrounding places of the temple), and 2012 (Ganesha Temple on the west side of the hill). In 2013 a Kala Bairaveshwara idol was installed in a cave towards east of the hill.

Hebbal is an locality in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, which was once indicative of the north endpoint of the city. Though originally famous for Hebbal Lake, it is now better known for the serpentine maze of flyovers that network the Outer Ring Road and Airport Road on NH 44. The flyover spans a length of 5.23 kilometres (3.2 mi) over all the loops combined. The flyover was built by Gammon India. The lake area in Hebbal is well-known for its picnic spots, a well-maintained park, boating facilities and for the bird watching opportunities. Hebbala used to be the end of the municipal corporation limits. One can still see the milestone between the Baptist hospital and checkpost. Bengaluru has now grown quite a bit towards north, beyond these marks. L&T factory, which was established in the 1970s, is also close to Hebbal. Raintree Boulevard project is coming up at same place before GKVK University. There are also a number of new office buildings and commercial enterprises which is making Hebbala a new and attractive investment spot.

The Hebbal-Kittayya 750CE Inscription is one of the oldest known Kannada language inscriptions in Kannada script and Bangalore's oldest inscription. The inscription was discovered on 1 May 2018 in Hebbal. The inscription is on a Ooralivu Veeragallu in honour of Hebbal native Kittayya. Ooralivu veeragallu’s are memorial stones erected in honour of a person martyred defending an attack on his or her town. Discovered by a few residents in Hebbal, this inscription was deciphered by P.V. Krishnamurthy, professor of epigraphy at the Kannada Sahitya Parishat as an inscription from the era of Ganga King Sripurusha in the 8th century CE. The Ooralivu Veeragallu inscription is now installed in a crowd-funded Ganga-style stone mantapa adjoining the Hebbal city library, Bangalore.
