Paulus Hook is a community on the Hudson River waterfront in Jersey City, New Jersey, located one mile (1.5 kilometers) across the river from Manhattan. The name Hook comes from the Dutch word "hoeck" which translates into "point of land." This "point of land" has been described as an elevated area, the location of which is today bounded by Montgomery, Hudson, Dudley and Van Vorst Streets. The neighborhood's main street is the north- and south-running Washington Street. The waterfront of Paulus Hook is along the basin of the Morris Canal in a park with a segment of Liberty State Park. The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail has a Paulus Hook stop at Essex Street and the Liberty Water Taxi at Warren Street. The introduction of the light rail and development of office buildings on the Hudson Waterfront have brought more businesses to Morris Street including a number of restaurants with outdoor seating and small neighborhood shops.

The Powerhouse Arts District is a historic warehouse district in Downtown Jersey City, New Jersey, United States, on the water front of the Hudson River. Its name derives from the unused generating station Hudson and Manhattan Railroad Powerhouse, a historic Victorian-era power plant that was renovated into an arts center. The area was once home to large industrial operations, which gradually left the district during the 20th century, leaving large derelict buildings that attracted artists drawn to the large, affordable loft spaces.

Kenmare High School is an all-female, private, Roman Catholic high school in Jersey City, in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. It is located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1992.As of the 2015–16 school year, the school had an enrollment of 121 students and 10.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.1:1. The school's student body was 49.6% Black, 14.1% Hispanic, 1.7% White, 0.8% Asian and 33.9% two or more races.Kenmare is an alternative high school for young women (ages 17+) who have dropped out of other high schools. The school is operated through the York Street Project as part of an effort to reduce rates of poverty in households headed by women, through a program that offers small class sizes, individualized learning and development of life skills.

Saint Peter's Preparatory School ("Saint Peter's Prep" or "Prep") is a private, all-male, Jesuit, college-preparatory school located in Jersey City, in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States, within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. The Society of Jesus founded the school in 1872 and today the school is operated as part of the Jesuits' New York Province. The school has been accredited by the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools.Students are enrolled from counties in Central and Northern New Jersey, as well as from nearby New York City. The school has a faculty of 83 that includes two Jesuits, 71 lay teachers, and 10 counselors, seven of whom work on college placement. Tuition for the 2021–22 school year is $20,234, while mandatory fees total $1,300.As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 892 students and 80.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.1:1. The Museum of Russian Art (MoRA) is a museum in Jersey City, New Jersey dedicated to exhibiting Russian art, particularly Soviet Nonconformist Art. It was established in 1980 as CASE Museum of Contemporary Russian Art (the name including the abbreviation for the Committee for the Absorption of Soviet Emigres.) The museum's historic brownstone building in Paulus Hook underwent renovation and re-opened in 2010.The museum's mission statement as written in its request for proposals reads: The Museum of Russian Art in Jersey City (MORA) is dedicated to being a preeminent cultural institution in its field, a major full-service art museum focusing upon the collection, preservation, documentation and exhibition of challenging and important artworks. MORA is a space devoted to developing cultural exchange between different national diasporas in the US, and between the US and other countries. Emerging and established artists, both local and international, come together in both small and large scale exhibitions that center on the practice and creation of socially significant and innovative art. MORA is specifically interested in cultural programs of unity between nations, along with academic discourse and debate and how these are expressed and promoted by art and culture in general. MORA focuses on projects that show the cultural exchange, collaboration, and dialogue between different communities in the lives of artists-immigrants of any national descent, and within a greater pluralistic American community and nation, and any nation on the way towards establishing universal human values of culture in the cooperative world community. The Museum's special focus is upon Russian art and culture, especially art and culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, from the colossal achievements of the great Russian Avant-Garde (Kandinsky, Malevich and others) through the fascinating era of Nonconformist (or Unofficial) Art of the period between the late 1950s and the 1980s and up to the most recent developments in contemporary living artistic and cultural life. Russian art is broadly construed, including all art that can be associated with Russian culture – art belonging to the cultural life of Russia; art produced by Russians, Russian-speakers, and artists of Russian extraction, back- ground or heritage; art that is itself concerned with Russian language, history and culture – all this is within MoRA's purview.

Trump Plaza also known as Trump Plaza Residences, is the first of two apartment complex buildings to be built in Jersey City, New Jersey. Trump Plaza Residences is 532 ft tall (162 m) and has 55 floors, and is the 7th tallest residential building in New Jersey. In 2020, the Trump name was removed from the properties and has been renamed the 88 Morgan Street Condominiums.The property was initially approved in 1999 for a twin-tower project to be known as HarborSpire, which never materialized. In 2005, Donald Trump and Dean Geibel partnered to develop Trump Plaza on the property. The project was to consist of two towers, the first of which opened in 2008. The second tower, known as Trump Bay Street, was opened in 2016.

Isaac Edge's windmill is a historic landmark that played an important role in the early industrial development of Jersey City, New Jersey. Isaac Edge, a British immigrant, built the windmill in 1806 on the shore of the Hudson River, the Great Western Mill stones imported from England found their first home in Brooklyn Heights. Later the smock mill relocated to Paulus Hook just north of the present-day corner of Montgomery and Greene streets in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Jersey City Urby is a residential tower complex in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. The first tower was proposed in 2012 as URL Harborside, and later renamed to Urby Harborside. The construction of the first tower began in 2014, and completed in 2016. At 700 feet (210 m), the 70-story tower is the fourth tallest building in New Jersey, as well as in Jersey City as of August 2022. It overtook Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City for the title of second place when it was completed, but moved down to fourth after the constructions of 99 Hudson Street and Journal Squared Tower 2 respectively. The company, Urby, also has three other locations such as Staten Island, Stamford, and Harrison. In July 2022, the city council gave approval of construction of two similar buildings in the complex.

Provost Square is a partially built apartment complex in Jersey City, New Jersey developed by Toll Brothers. It will consists of two towers, one of which was completed in 2015 and called the Morgan. It is 38 storeys and 102 m (335 ft) tall. Work began on the site of 2nd tower in 2015. Phase 2 is 1.5 million square feet. The three buildings are claimed to have a synergy that will increase their utility and value.It is being eclipsed by a larger building boom and architectural revival that is taking place in Jersey City, which has now moved toward tall towers.

111 First Street was an industrial building in Jersey City, New Jersey, at the intersection of First and Washington Streets in Downtown Jersey City. Prior to its demolition in 2007, the 19th-century industrial building on the site had been converted to an arts center, artists' residence, and loft. As of 2018, the site is the location of a proposed 52-story skyscraper.

Headroom LGBTQ+ Lounge, also called simply Headroom, was a short-lived gay bar in Jersey City, New Jersey. It operated for six months, from November 2020 to May 2021. Though it was open only during the COVID-19 pandemic, the venue proved to be popular and offered an array of live entertainment, including drag shows, burlesque performances and RuPaul's Drag Race viewing parties. A contract dispute between the establishment's owners forced its abrupt closure days before the 2021 Memorial Day weekend. Critics praised the quality of Headroom's shows and noted its value as a safe space for the local LGBT community.

65 Bay Street is a 50-story apartment tower, originally named Trump Bay Street after Donald Trump and located at 65 Bay Street in Jersey City, New Jersey. It is located adjacent to the Trump Plaza apartment tower, which was completed in 2008. A second Trump Plaza tower had initially been planned but was delayed, and the property for the proposed building was sold several times during the Great Recession. Kushner Companies – managed by Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner – and New Jersey-based KABR Group purchased the property in 2011. Groundbreaking for the second tower, Trump Bay Street, took place in May 2014. The project, built at a cost of $225 million, was opened in November 2016.
