The Pinang River (Malay: Sungai Pinang) is a river that runs through the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Stretching for approximately 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi), the river separates George Town proper to the north and its suburb of Jelutong to the south. It also passes under the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway before emptying into the Penang Strait. Sungai Pinang also refers to the neighbourhood that exists along the river. It is believed that the first riverine villages had been established in the late 18th century, prior to the arrival of Captain Francis Light, the founder of modern Penang. The Pinang River was widely regarded as one of the filthiest waterways in Malaysia. In recent years, the Penang state government has intensified efforts to clean up and deepen the river, resulting in an improvement of the river's water quality.

The Sia Boey Urban Archaeological Park, also colloquially known as the Sia Boey Park, is an urban archaeology park in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Located beside the Prangin Road, the Sia Boey Urban Archaeological Park was opened in 2019 as the first Urban Archaeological Park in Malaysia.The Sia Boey Urban Archaeological Park contains various recreational amenities, such as a koi fish-filled revitalised Prangin Canal, aged-old trees and a playground for the kids, all of which are open to the public. The park is maintained by the Penang Development Corporation. The cost of diverting and restoring the old canal, as well as the construction of the new canal and "archaeological" works, was RM9.1 million ringgit, while the Old Prangin Market was being restored at a cost of RM5.1 million.

The Komtar station is a future elevated light rail transit station on the Mutiara line in George Town, Penang. It will be situated at the intersection of Magazine Road, Carnavon and Tek Soon streets, adjacent to the Sia Boey Park. The station is projected to become a major terminal and interchange station of the Mutiara, Tanjong Tokong and the Ayer Itam lines. It has connections towards the terminal of a proposed tram system in George Town, and the Komtar bus terminal, which serves as the primary public bus terminal serving the city. The station complex is also planned as part of the fifth phase of development at Komtar. Once completed, it is expected to become the main rail station in George Town. Besides this, the station is part of the western end of an elevated link across the Penang Strait towards the Penang Sentral station in Seberang Perai. Construction is expected to be completed by 2031, in line with the completion of the Mutiara line.

1st Avenue Mall is a shopping mall in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is located at Magazine Road, next to Komtar and Prangin Mall, and is linked to both buildings via overhead bridges.

Magazine Road is a major thoroughfare in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. The one-way road, one of the busiest in the city centre, runs along some of George Town's major landmarks, including Komtar and 1st Avenue Mall. The road was created towards the end of the 19th century as part of an urban residential quarter known as the Seven Streets Precinct. Straits Eclectic-style shophouses can still be seen along the road, standing alongside more modern high-rises. The western end of Magazine Road joins the similarly-named Magazine Circus, which also intersects four other major roads within the city centre - Penang Road, Macalister Road, Dato Keramat Road and Brick Kiln Road.

Eng Chuan Tong Tan Kongsi (Chinese: 穎川堂陳公司; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Éng-chhoan-tông Tân-kong-si) is a Hokkien clan house at Beach Street in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It was founded in the early 19th century by a Tan family from the Fujian province of Zhangzhou in China. The building is a place of worship devoted to Kai Zhang Sheng Wang (開漳聖王; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Khai-chiang Sèng-ông) or Tan Goan-kong (陳元光), the founder of Zhangzhou, and his two deputies, Generals Fushun and Fusheng. It was also the ancestral temple of Tan clansmen for the purposes of cultural integration. Members of the Tan family worship their ancestor, Tan Guan Kong.This Kongsi represents what locals consider to be one of the ‘Big Five' clan surnames in Penang. Founded under the name Tan Seng Ong Kongsi, it is claimed by its owners to be the oldest clan house in Penang. The clan house and its associated residences form a culturally embedded Seh Tan Court. In 1941, from the start of the Japanese Occupation, many historic relics vanished, and activities were suspended except for Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival. In recent years, clan members have attended two annual ceremonies of ancestral worship.In the early 1900s, a Tan Si School was established, which was later renamed Eng Chuan School. It was one of several schools in Penang which taught Confucian classics as a main part of the curriculum.The main structure was erected in 1878, then renovated in the late 1940s, and again in the 1990s. The building is located at number 28 Seh Tan Court, George Town (off Beach Street).

The Penang House of Music (PHoM) is an interactive music gallery in George Town, Malaysia. It consists of a gallery, a performing/exhibition space, and a resource centre that documents Malaysia's musical heritage with a focus on Penang's music and musicians. It is located on the 4th floor of the ICT Digital Mall, Penang and covers 650 square metres. The gallery has earned a reputation as a kinaesthetic learning experience of music, culture, arts and social studies and it's resource centre houses one of the largest collections of Malaysia's music, culture and performing arts. Here, various audio visual materials relating to Malaysia's music and history is documented, catalogued and digitised.

M Mall O2O is a shopping mall in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Opened in 2015, it forms part of the Penang Times Square at Dato Keramat Road. The four-storey shopping mall contains decorations consisting of murals and replicas of Penang's famed landmarks and lifestyles. The retail floors include thematic areas, with each designed to replicate a different country. In addition, the mall, with over 500 retail outlets, also houses Penang's first wax museum.Notably, M Mall O2O is the first shopping mall in Penang to introduce virtual currency as a payment mode. This has proved controversial, however, leading to a police raid on the mall in 2017.

Karpal Singh Drive is a seafront promenade within the suburb of Jelutong near George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is named after Karpal Singh (1940-2014), a prominent opposition politician and lawyer who hailed from George Town.Along Karpal Singh Drive are upscale residential and commercial properties, while the paved promenade itself is decorated with a handful of art sculptures. The promenade faces east, lying along the South Channel of the Penang Strait.

Prangin Mall is a shopping mall in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is located at Prangin Road (now Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong), next to Komtar Tower, and is linked to both Komtar and neighboring 1st Avenue Mall via overhead skybridges. The mall was opened to the public in 2001 as Phase 3 of the Komtar project. The shopping mall faces competition from the newer 1st Avenue Mall, and today, Prangin Mall caters mainly to lower-income and middle-income earners. Even so, Parkson, its main anchor tenant, has retained its outlet within the mall. It has a total of six floors, including a sub-basement level.

GAMA is a department store in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Located at Dato Keramat Road, just opposite Komtar, GAMA was opened in 1967, making it the oldest department store in the State of Penang. In spite of competition from the nearby shopping malls, the department store still retains its customer base due to its cheaper pricing. The shopping centre contains a total of eight floors, including its basement parking lot.
