Kennedy, or Ciudad Kennedy, is the eighth locality of Bogotá, capital of Colombia. It is located in the southwest of the city and is the second most populous being home to 14% of the city's residents. This district is mostly inhabited by working and low income residents.

La Vaca (Spanish: Humedal La Vaca) or Techovita is a small wetland, part of the Wetlands of Bogotá, located in the locality Kennedy, Bogotá, Colombia. The wetland, in the Tunjuelo River basin on the Bogotá savanna covers an area of about 8 hectares (20 acres). La Vaca is close to the Avenidad Ciudad de Cali.

Estadio Metropolitano de Techo is a multi-use stadium in Bogotá, Colombia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of La Equidad, Tigres F.C., and Bogotá F.C. The stadium holds 8,000 people.

Estadio Metropolitano Ciudad de Itagüí is a multi-use stadium in Itagüí, Colombia. It is currently used mostly for football matches by Leones F.C., currently playing in Categoría Primera B. The stadium has a capacity of 12,000 spectators.

The Reminiscencias dance club shooting was a mass murder that occurred in Bogotá, Colombia on June 24, 2000, when 26-year-old Juan de Jesús Lozano Velásquez, accompanied by his friends Henry Orozco Casas and Julián Andrés Barbosa, fired an Uzi machine gun at revelers at the Reminiscencias dance club, after a friend of his asked them for help in case of a possible fight after a young woman refused to dance with him earlier. Velásquez killed eleven people, including Barbosa (by accident), wounded seven others, and then escaped with Orozco Casas, but was eventually arrested in Spain several months later, extradited back, and sentenced to 40 years in prison.

The St. James the Apostle Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de Santiago Apóstol) Also Fontibón Cathedral Officially the Parish Cathedral of St. James the Apostle of Fontibón, is a cathedral church of Catholic worship consecrated under the patronage of the St. James the Apostle in Fontibón, in the South American country of Colombia. It is the Cathedral Church of the Diocese of Fontibón and, therefore, seat of the titular Bishop. It is a Spanish Colonial style building located in the eastern corner of the main park of the town of Fontibón of Bogotá, in the 18th street with 99 street. The cathedral occupies the whole block together with the Casa Cural, the Episcopal Curia and the Parish School. The building is the highest structure in the area. Was rebuilt between 1621 and 1632, being restored between 1945 and 1955.

Meandro del Say is a wetland, part of the wetlands of Bogotá. It spans the locality Fontibón of Bogotá and the eastern part of Mosquera, Cundinamarca. Meandro del Say is located close to the Bogotá River with a total area of 13.6 hectares (34 acres). The Avenida Centenario borders the wetland in the northeast. Meandro de Say is situated in the Fucha River basin.

On 7 June 2025, Miguel Uribe Turbay, a senator and pre-candidate in the 2026 Colombian presidential election, was killed during a rally at El Golfito Park in the neighbourhood of Modelia, part of the locality of Fontibón, in Bogotá, Colombia. He was hospitalised in critical condition and died two months later, on 11 August 2025.
