Carran

Carron/New Quay is a parish in County Clare and part of the Kilfenora Deanery of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. It is located in the northern side of The Burren, bordering Galway Bay and County Galway Fr. Colm Clinton, a member of Saint Patrick's Society for the Foreign Missions (SPS) was the parish priest for 17 years until his retirement in 2023. The priest of the neighbouring parish of Ballyvaughan/Fanore now also covers Carron/New Quay in addition to his own parish. The parish is an amalgamation of the former parishes of Abbey, Kilcorney, Noughaval and Oughtmama. The main church of Carron/New Quay parish is the St. Columba Church in Carron, built in 1861 by Fr. James Gleeson. The second church of the parish is the Church of St. Patrick in New Quay. The original church from 1840 was later replaced by a new one that was blessed in 1939. The third church of the parish is the Church of St. Mochua in Noughaval. This was originally a Protestant church in 1860, located in Ballyvaughan, but carefully taken apart and moved to Noughaval. It entered service again in 1943.

Temple Cronan is a ruined medieval oratory or chapel built near a holy well in the Burren, County Clare, Ireland. The current building apparently dates from the 12th and 15th centuries, although it may partly incorporate earlier buildings or some of the masonry thereof. It may have been the site of an early Christian monastery. Temple Cronan is located in the civil parish of Carran, eight miles from Corofin and about sixteen miles from Ennis.

Caherconnell (Irish: Cathair Chonaill, meaning "Conall's stone ringfort") is an exceptionally well-preserved medieval stone ringfort in region known as the Burren, County Clare, Ireland. It lies about 1 km south of the Poulnabrone dolmen.

Poulnabrone dolmen (Irish: Poll na Brón, lit. 'Hole of Sorrow') is a large dolmen (or cromlech, a type of single-chamber portal tomb) located in the Burren, County Clare, Ireland. Situated on one of the most desolate and highest points of the region, it comprises three standing portal stones supporting a heavy horizontal capstone, and dates to the early Neolithic period, with estimates to between 4200 BC and 2900 BC. Although not the largest, it is the best known of the approximately 172 dolmens in Ireland. It was constructed on a karst landscape formed from limestone laid down around 350 million years ago. The dolmen was built by Neolithic farmers, who chose the location either for ritual, as a territorial marker, or as a collective burial site. What remains today is only the "stone skeleton" of the original monument; originally it would have been covered with soil, and its flagstone capped by a cairn. When the site was excavated in 1986 and again in 1988, around 33 human remains, including those of adults, children (and the remains of a much later Bronze Age infant) were found buried underneath it. Also discovered were various stone and bone objects that would have been placed with the dead at the time of interment. The human remains and objects are estimated to have been buried intermittently during the 600 year period between 3800 and 3200 BC.

Kilnaboy or Killinaboy (Irish: Cill Iníne Baoith, meaning "church of Baoth's daughter") is a village, townland and civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It is located in the Burren, and as of the 2011 census the area had 347 inhabitants.

The Inneenboy cross (Irish: Cros Iníne Baoith or "cross of the daughter of Baoth") or the Roughan Hill Tau Cross is a stone tau cross located in County Clare, Ireland. It is a National Monument.

Kilcorney (Irish: Cill Choirne) (sometimes also Kilcornane) is a civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It lies in the Burren region of the northwest of the county.

Mullaghmore (Irish: Mullach Mór, meaning 'Great Summit') is a 180 metre (590') limestone hill in the Burren in Glenquin, Kilnaboy County Clare, Ireland. It is part of a hiking trail called the Mullaghmore Loop in the Burren National Park.
