The Rand Club is a private members' club in Johannesburg, South Africa, founded in October 1887. The current (third) clubhouse was designed by architects Leck & Emley in 1902 and its construction completed in 1904. Cecil John Rhodes helped to select the location.

Corner House (also known as Old Corner House) in the central business district of Johannesburg was the headquarters of one of the largest mining conglomerates in South Africa. This building's unique history earned it a declaration as a national heritage monument in 1999.

The Natal Bank Building is situated on Stand 194 (previously 756) at 90 Market Street (now known as Albertina Sisulu Road) in the city of Johannesburg. Natal Bank was the second bank to open a branch in the city after Standard Bank. The Natal Bank’s first bank building was erected on the same site in 1891 by M. B. Houge, architect. It was a generous height single storey building of brick with a projecting pediment, and was demolished to make way for the larger existing building. Ideally situated a block away from the Stock Exchange and the National Bank of the South African Republic, the bank prospered and two years later plans were accepted for a new four-storeyed building and vaults.A new design was prepared by architects Carter and McIntosh in 1889, but the second Anglo-Boer War hampered the building operations. Soon after peace had been restored, McIntosh and Moffat were commissioned to redesign the building, which was eventually occupied on 24 August 1903. This is the building as it currently stands. At the time, the building cost £29,847 to construct and has an area of ~460m2.

The Standard Bank Centre (also known as the Hanging Building or the 78 Fox Street) is a skyscraper in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is located at the corner of 5 Simmonds Street and 78 Fox Street in the Central Business District of the city. Construction of the building started in 1966 and was completed in 1968. It is 139 m (456 ft) tall. It was also home to Standard Bank, until the company moved to other site in 1990.The building was built from the top-down, meaning that after the central core was built, the floors were suspended from cantilevered arms with the top floors added first, followed by each lower floor.

The National Bank Building also known as the Corner House is situated on the corner of Market and Simmonds Streets in Johannesburg. The address 38-40 Simmonds Street corresponds to Stand 205 F. It was designed by renowned architects Leck and Emley in 1903, and construction was completed in 1904. Leck and Emley also designed the neighbouring Corner House building in 1902, which was finished in 1904 on the corner of Simmonds and Commissioner Streets. The facade of the new National Bank Building blended well with that of the Corner House, and it is believed that J.B.Taylor, chairman of Corner House as well as a director of the National Bank, proposed the plan of combining the two. Fifty years later, in 1953, the bank (now Barclays) duplicated Taylor's thinking, and Gordon Leith was commissioned to design the third part of the building – the Market Street extension – in keeping with the two existing structures to form a cohesive unit. It was refurbished by the current owners, Barclays Bank.

Gandhi Square (formerly Van Der Bijl Square and Government Square) is a plaza located in the Central Business District of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is named after the political activist and pacifist, Mahatma Gandhi.

Johannesburg City Hall is an Edwardian building constructed in 1914 by the Hawkey and McKinley construction company. The plan for the building was drawn in 1910 and construction was started in 1913 and finished in 1914. The Gauteng Provincial Legislature currently occupies the building. The City Hall has seen many political events on its steps from protest meetings to a bomb blast in 1988.

M. K. Gandhi is a bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Gandhi Square, Johannesburg, which depicts the Indian independence campaigner and nonviolent pacifist as a young man.

The Standard Bank Art Gallery was launched on 4 June 1990. The gallery is located in Marshalltown at the heart of Johannesburg. This is a non - commercial gallery and a feature of Standard Bank's investment in arts and culture. In 2023, the Standard Bank Gallery was the recipient of the 2023 Experts’ Choice Award.

The Markham Building is a building in Johannesburg, South Africa, which when completed in 1897 was the tallest building in the city. The six story building has a clock tower housing a large clock imported from Scotland with four faces North, South, East and West. Known as Markham's Folly, because it stood out clearly in the centre of Johannesburg. In the clock tower there was an artist studio. The building was saved from demolition in 1978

Circle Court is a residential building in Johannesburg, Hillbrow was designed by the company of brothers Luis Theodore Obel and Mark Obel in 1936. They both favoured the Art Deco style of design. During the time when the building was constructed, Clarendon circle was a famous landmark with a large traffic circle surrounding an island of grass and palm trees, this was replaced by traffic lights in 1959. Luis Theodore Obed lived in this building and died here in 1956

The Johannesburg tramway network formed part of the public transport system in Johannesburg, South Africa, for just over 70 years until the start of the 1960s.
