Woody's on Church is a gay bar located at 467 Church Street at the gay village in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

A statue of Alexander Wood was erected in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, by the Church Wellesley Village Business Improvement Area (CWVBIA) and the municipal government of Toronto on May 28, 2005. Designed and constructed by artist Del Newbigging, the 8 ft (244 cm) tall bronze sculpture was installed at the corner of Church and Alexander Streets in Church and Wellesley, the gay village of Toronto. It was the first LGBT monument in Canada. The statue was removed and destroyed by the CWVBIA on April 4, 2022, amid renewed focus on Wood's ties to a group that raised funds for a mission school that later became the Shingwauk Indian Residential School.

CIRR-FM (103.9 FM, 103.9 Proud FM) is a radio station in Toronto, Ontario. Owned by Evanov Communications, it broadcasts a Hot AC/CHR format with a focus on the area's LGBT community. Launching on April 16, 2007, it was the first radio station in Canada targeted specifically to an LGBT audience, and the first commercial, terrestrial radio station in the world to target such an audience. It is one of six stations in Toronto that reports to Nielsen BDS' Canadian Top 40 airplay panel.Originally broadcasting from Toronto's Church and Wellesley neighbourhood, CIRR's studios are currently located on Dundas Street West in the Eatonville neighbourhood of Toronto, while its transmitter is located atop the Sheraton Centre on Queen Street West in downtown Toronto across from Toronto City Hall.

Church and Wellesley is an LGBT-oriented enclave in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is roughly bounded by Gerrard Street to the south, Yonge Street to the west, Charles Street to the north, and Jarvis Street to the east, with the core commercial strip located along Church Street from Wellesley south to Alexander. Though some gay and lesbian oriented establishments can be found outside this area, the general boundaries of this village have been defined by the Gay Toronto Tourism Guild.

Alexander Street Baptist Church was a Baptist church in Toronto, Ontario, Canada located on the south side of Alexander Street between Yonge and Church streets. The congregation was founded in 1866 and the church building, designed by Henry Langley, was completed the following year. When the congregation relocated in 1888, it was sold to the Anglican Church and eventually demolished in the mid-1950s.

The 519, formerly known as The 519 Church Street Community Centre, is an agency of the City of Toronto. A Canadian charitable, non-profit organization, it operates a community centre in the Church and Wellesley neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The 519 serves both its local neighbourhood and the broader lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities in the Toronto area. The 519 defines its local neighbourhood by a catchment area that spans from Bloor Street to the north to Gerrard Street to the south, and from Bay Street in the west to Parliament Street in the east.According to the centre's website The 519 is the hub of community life in Toronto's diverse Church and Wellesley Village. For over 35 years, The 519 has been working with [its] neighbours and [its] lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer (LGBTQ) communities to build healthy, welcoming spaces to meet, participate and celebrate together.

Maple Leaf Gardens is a historic building located at the northwest corner of Carlton Street and Church Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The building was initially constructed in 1931 as an arena to host ice hockey games, though it has since been reconstructed for other uses. Today, Maple Leaf Gardens is a multi-purpose facility, with Loblaws occupying retail space on the lower floors and an arena for Toronto Metropolitan University, known as Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens, occupying the top level.Considered one of the "cathedrals" of hockey, it was home to the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League from 1931 to 1999. The Leafs won the Stanley Cup 11 times from 1932 to 1967 while playing at the Gardens. The first NHL All-Star Game, albeit an unofficial one, was held at the Gardens in 1934 as a benefit for Leafs forward Ace Bailey, who had suffered a career-ending head injury. The first official annual National Hockey League All-Star Game was also held at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1947. It was home to the Toronto Huskies (1946–1947) in their single season in the Basketball Association of America (a forerunner of the National Basketball Association), the Toronto Marlboros of the Ontario Hockey League, the Toronto Toros of the World Hockey Association (1974–1976), the Toronto Blizzard of the North American Soccer League (1980–1982 indoor seasons), the Toronto Shooting Stars of the National Professional Soccer League (1996–1997), and the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League (1999–2000). The NBA's Buffalo Braves played a total of 16 regular season games at Maple Leaf Gardens from 1971 to 1975. The NBA's Toronto Raptors played six games at the Gardens from 1997 to 1999, mostly when SkyDome was unavailable. It was also one of the few venues outside the United States where Elvis Presley performed in concert (April 2, 1957). In 1972, Maple Leaf Gardens hosted game 2 of the famous Summit Series between Team Canada and the USSR. Team Canada won the game 4–1.

The Paul Kane House is a heritage structure in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.Paul Kane, an important early Canadian artist, purchased the property in 1853 and built a cottage on the site. On May 29, 1855, a fire broke out in Kane's stables, and spread to neighbouring structures.He and his heirs later expanded the cottage, and clad it in brick. His family owned the property until 1903, after which it served a variety of purposes. It was acquired by a church for the deaf, who constructed a larger structure in front of the house. When a developer demolished the church in the 1970s, it exposed the heritage house, triggering a grass-roots effort to save the house from demolition. The house was bought by the city in 1978 and subsequently designated a heritage structure under the Ontario Heritage Act. In 1984, the Toronto Star published an article about the building, illustrated by photos showing it boarded up, quoting neighbours calling for it to be demolished. In 1985, an architect incorporated the house into a new housing cooperative being built on Isabella Street, the street just north of Wellesley. The design only integrated the sound portions of the house, the rear of the original house being damaged by fire. The city created a small parkette, at 56 Wellesley Street East in what was once Kane's front yard.

Barbara Hall Park (formerly Cawthra Square Park) is a park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The park was renamed to commemorate Barbara Hall in 2014.An AIDS memorial is installed in the park. The memorial was vandalized in 2023.

Buddies in Bad Times Theatre is a Canadian professional theatre company. Based in Toronto, Ontario, and founded in 1978 by Matt Walsh, Jerry Ciccoritti, and Sky Gilbert, Buddies in Bad Times is dedicated to "the promotion of queer theatrical expression". It's the largest and longest-running queer theatre company in the world. Although the company eventually achieved notoriety and success in the 1980s as a queer theatre company, it wasn't founded with that intent. Buddies' original focus was on staged adaptations of poetry. However, during the 1980s, under the sole leadership of Sky Gilbert, Buddies developed a distinctly queer aesthetic and practice. The company is known for its work that was unapologetically political, fiercely pro-sexual, and fundamentally anti-establishment. In 1983, Sue Golding joined the company as its founding Board President, a post which she held until 1995. Playing an instrumental role in shaping the direction of the organization, Some of the company's earliest commercial and critical successes included productions of Gilbert's Lana Turner has Collapsed! (1980), The Dressing Gown (1984), Drag Queens on Trial (1985), and The Postman Rings Once (1987), Don Druik's Where is Kabuki? (1989), as well as the Sex Tours of the Church-Wellesley community hosted by Gilbert's drag persona Jane.

Canada's National Ballet School, also commonly known as the National Ballet School of Canada, is a classical ballet school located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Along with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, it is a provider of professional ballet training in Canada. Mavis Staines has been the Artistic Director of the school since 1989.

Storm Crow Manor is a science fiction-themed restaurant and bar in Toronto's Church and Wellesley neighbourhood, opened in 2018 by Canadian video game developer and entrepreneur Jason Kapalka, who previously cofounded PopCap Games. It has been called "Canada's nerdiest bar" by Toronto weekly NOW Magazine, "Toronto's greatest geek bar" by the Toronto Star, and "a nerd's paradise in downtown Toronto" by Toronto.com. The interior of the Manor includes a variety of themed rooms like the neon-filled Cyberpunk Room, the Jules Verne-themed Nautilus room hidden behind a moveable bookshelf, small Heaven and Hell-themed counterpart rooms next to each other, the Twin Peaks-themed Black Lodge with mirrored ceiling and black and white tile, and the Victorian Hunting Lodge, a satirical take on a colonial hunting lodge theme with the head of a Dungeons and Dragons Beholder on the wall in place of a buffalo or antelope head. It also features a skull-lined staircase to the basement restrooms, and a frequently photographed Warhammer-themed baby change table that is also an altar to "Tzeentch, the Changer of the Ways". There is also a gift shop, the Bizarre Bazaar, that sells Storm Crow-branded merchandise, dice and novelty stickers along with curiosities like "dinosaur erotica" by Lola Faust, a favourite of musician Devendra Banhart. Along with nerd culture-themed names for food and drink, the menu also includes items with Dungeons and Dragons-themed game dynamics: specifically, a roll of a 20-sided die (or d20). The "Random Shots" menu includes 20 different shots of varying palatability, with the specific shot decided by a roll of the die: a free Storm Crow-branded shot glass and a vodka-lemon-sugar shot with a roll of a 20, a shot of hot sauce if you roll a 1, and many in between. Similarly, the Dungeon Burger, Dungeon Pasta and Dungeon Poutine meals all include sauces and toppings chosen by random dice roll. The restaurant runs frequent events by and for the LGBTQ+ community, including monthly Drag Brunch hosted by local drag queen Messy Margaret, and has raised money during Pride Month for LGBTQ+ oriented charities including Let's Stop AIDS and The 519. Storm Crow Manor is the third Storm Crow restaurant opened by Kapalka, and is the only one that remains open post-COVID-19 pandemic after its Vancouver counterparts Storm Crow Tavern and Storm Crow Alehouse closed in 2020 and 2022 respectively. Although Kapalka expressed concern in a 2020 interview that the pandemic could lead to large-scale closures of neighbourhood restaurants like his, Storm Crow Manor survived the pandemic. Other restaurants in Kapalka's "Storm Crow Alliance" include Offworld Bar in Toronto, which opened in 2022 and is closing in the fall of 2025, and the tarot-themed speakeasy Arcana Food + Spirits in Vancouver, which opened in 2023. Storm Crow Manor is a favourite restaurant of Star Wars and Kim's Convenience star Paul Sun-Hyung Lee.
