The Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) was founded in 1915 by Charles-Edward Amory Winslow and is one of the oldest public health masters programs in the United States. It is consistently rated among the best schools of public health in the country, receiving recent rankings of 3rd for its doctoral program in epidemiology. YSPH is both a department (established in 1915) within the school of medicine as well as an independent, CEPH-certified school of public health (established in 1946).

The Yale School of Medicine is the graduate medical school at Yale University, a private research university in New Haven, Connecticut. It was founded in 1810 as the Medical Institution of Yale College and formally opened in 1813.The primary teaching hospital for the school is Yale New Haven Hospital. The school is home to the Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library, one of the largest modern medical libraries which is known for its historical collections. The faculty includes 70 National Academy of Sciences members, 47 National Academy of Medicine members, and 13 Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigators.For the class of 2022, the school received 4,968 applications to fill 104 seats. The median GPA for the class was 3.89, and the median MCAT was 521.

Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) is a 1,541-bed hospital located in New Haven, Connecticut. It is owned and operated by the Yale New Haven Health System. YNHH includes the 168-bed Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, the 201-bed Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, and the 76-bed Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, making it one of the largest hospitals in the world and the largest in Connecticut. It is the primary teaching hospital for the Yale School of Medicine and Yale School of Nursing. The hospital is a Magnet hospital and is accredited by the Joint Commission. It is also a Level I trauma center for adult and pediatric patients. It operates a pediatric critical care transport team including registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and physicians who transfer pediatric patients from smaller community hospitals to Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. In 2021, YNHH was ranked nationally in 8 of 15 specialties by U.S. News & World Report: Psychiatry (#11); Geriatrics (#21); Diabetes and Endocrinology (#33); Pulmonology (#27); Neurology and Neurosurgery (#42); Kidney Disorders (#35); Gastroenterology (#45); Ear, Nose and Throat (#47); and Gynecology (#47). In 2020, the hospital had more than 1.3 million outpatient visits, 128,382 emergency room visits and 68,894 inpatient discharges. YNHH is among the largest employers in New Haven, Connecticut, with 14,592 employees.

Yale Cancer Center (YCC) was founded in 1974 as a result of an act of Congress in 1971, which declared the nation's "war on cancer". It is one of a network of 54 Comprehensive Cancer Centers designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Currently directed by Dr. Eric Winer, the Cancer Center brings together the resources of the Yale School of Medicine (YSM), Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), and the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH).

Yale New Haven Children's Hospital (YNHCH) is a 202-bed pediatric acute care children's hospital located in New Haven, Connecticut. The hospital is affiliated with the Yale School of Medicine. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric care to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0 to 21 in Connecticut and throughout New England. Yale New Haven Children's Hospital also features a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, one of two in the state.U.S. News & World Report ranks YNHCH in six pediatric specialties: diabetes and endocrinology (#6); neonatology (#27); nephrology (#27); gastroenterology and GI surgery (#37); pulmonology and lung surgery (#43); neurology and neurosurgery (#47). The hospital is also the top-ranked children's hospital in Connecticut.

Crown Towers is a high-rise apartment building in New Haven, Connecticut part of the New Haven Towers family of buildings. The fifth-tallest building in the city, the modernist building was New Haven's tallest residential building until the construction of several new developments in Downtown New Haven.

Crawford Manor, also the George W. Crawford House or George Crawford Towers, is a historic high-rise apartment building at 84-96 Park Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Completed in 1966, the fifteen-story building is a significant mature work of architect Paul Rudolph, and a good local example of Brutalist architecture. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015, and as a non-contributing element to the Dwight Street Historic District in 1983. It is owned by the city of New Haven, which uses it for public housing.

The Chapel Street Historic District is a 23-acre (9.3 ha) historic district in the Downtown New Haven area of the city of New Haven, Connecticut. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The district covers the southwestern corner of Downtown New Haven, including properties from Park Street to Temple Street between Chapel and Crown streets, and properties from High Street to Temple Street between George and Crown streets. It is bordered on the north by the New Haven Green and the Yale University campus. The western edge borders the Dwight Street Historic District. The eastern and southern edges of the district abut areas of more modern development. In 1984 the district included, over a 5 and a half block area, 102 buildings, of which 76 were contributing buildings. The predominantly brick structures represent a wide range of architectural styles. Maps show that the area was residential in the eighteenth century and through the first quarter of the nineteenth century. Commercial development began to take over at that time, though residential properties remained well represented. The oldest building in the district is the Ira Atwater House, built in 1817. Most of the buildings now in the district were built in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, having replaced earlier residential and commercial development. One of the oldest surviving commercial buildings in the city is a c. 1831 building on Church Street. There are three church buildings in the district, including the former Calvary Church Baptist Church (1871) which now house the Yale Repertory Theatre.

Louis' Lunch is a fast food hamburger restaurant in New Haven, Connecticut which claims to be the first fast food restaurant to serve hamburgers and the oldest hamburger restaurant in the United States. It was opened as a small lunch wagon in 1895 and was one of the first places in the U.S. to serve steak sandwiches. According to Louis' Lunch, the hamburger was created in 1900 in response to a customer's hurried request for a lunch to go. In 1917, Louis moved the business into a square-shaped brick building that had once been a tannery.In 1975, the restaurant was moved four blocks down to 263 Crown Street. Hamburgers cooked in the restaurant are made on the original cast iron vertical gas broilers from 1898, and the toast is made in a 1929 Savory Appliance Radiant Gas Toaster. The building is a New Haven landmark.

The Welch Training School, also known as the Welch School, is a historic school building at 495 Congress Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Built in 1883, it is a good example of Queen Anne architecture as applied to school buildings, and was the city's first teacher training school. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The building now houses a substance abuse clinic.

Yale School of Nursing (YSN) is the nursing school of Yale University, located in West Haven, Connecticut. It is among the top 20 graduate schools in the country, according to the latest rankings by U.S. News & World Report (2017). In addition to the top 20 tier overall ranking, the school’s midwifery specialty had the second-highest score nationally as ranked by peer institutions. Yale School of Nursing’s psychiatric-mental health specialty ranked sixth, and its pediatric nurse practitioner specialty came in at fifth in a three-way tie. Yale’s School of Nursing remains among the most selective in the nation, with only 29% of applicants accepted. Established in 1923 in New Haven, Connecticut, YSN moved in 2013 to Yale University's West Campus, located in West Haven and Orange, CT.

Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School (referred to as Co-op High School) is a high school in the downtown section of New Haven, Connecticut. Founded in 1983 as a joint venture of New Haven and Hamden, it was originally known as the Hamden-New Haven Co-op. It was originally housed at the former site of Larson College (now Quinnipiac University) at 1450 Whitney Avenue in Hamden (now a privately owned elder care facility called Atria Larson Place). In 1988, Hamden left the project, and the Co-op moved to the former St. John the Baptist School at 800 Dixwell Avenue in New Haven. There they were joined by the Center for Theater Techniques in Education (CTTE) which incorporated the arts into the academic curriculum already offered. The name was officially changed to Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School. In 1990, the Co-op moved to the former St. Mary's High School building at 444 Orange Street in New Haven. They remained there until January 2009, when they moved to their current location at 177 College Street. The new building, designed by architect César Pelli, is a 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2), $73 million state-of-the-art facility which includes a television studio, 350-seat theater with fly loft, black box theater, chorus and music rooms, 4 fully equipped computer labs, and academic facilities. Co-op is an arts magnet school that allows students to intensely practice their art major throughout the day, including music, theatre, creative writing, visual arts, and dance.
