Ōmaha

The Whangateau Harbour is a natural harbour in New Zealand. It is a sandspit estuary, located on the north-eastern coast of the Auckland Region north-east of Matakana, and empties into the Hauraki Gulf. Due to the harbour's high quality water and dense shellfish beds (primarily pipi), the harbour is a popular spot for shellfish gathering.

Ti Point is an area off Omaha Beach in the small New Zealand village of Leigh, located in the Rodney District. Ti Point is situated very close to Leigh and Goat Island, and is just over one hour drive north of Auckland. It is used for fishing, boating, hiking, rock climbing and yachting, and is under governance of the Rodney District Council, just north of Whangateau.

Point Wells is a rural settlement in the Auckland Region of New Zealand, at the tip of a peninsula between the Ōmaha River and Whangateau Harbour. Ōmaha is across the harbour but accessible by a causeway.Point Wells was divided into sections in 1947 when a local farmer sold off some of his land. It grew slowly, and in the late 1960s the development of Ōmaha drew most of the new builds away.Point Wells Hall was built in 1956 on donated land. It included a community library for many years. In 2008, the community gave control of running the hall to Rodney District Council, and two years later when Auckland Council was established it took the responsibility. In 2018, Auckland Council handed back the management to a subcommittee of the Point Wells Community and Ratepayers Association.

Whangateau is a small town on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is situated in Rodney District, part of the Auckland Region, and is on a peninsula stretching out into the Hauraki Gulf, north of Auckland. Whangateau is on the northern shore of Whangateau Harbour which is fed by the Ōmaha River and separated from Ōmaha Bay by the Maungatawhiri sandspit. The settlement is in two parts of 20 to 30 houses each. The main settlement includes a large public reserve with sports fields and a campground. There is also a public hall which hosts music events and a flax weaving group. The smaller settlement is Tram Car Bay, named for two tram cars which were used as holiday homes. Whangateau is situated between the rural settlement of Matakana and the fishing village of Leigh. A tsunami siren is located in the town.

The Ōmaha River is a river of the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows south to reach the Pacific Ocean at the western end of Whangateau Harbour, 3 kilometres (2 mi) west of Ōmaha.

Tāwharanui Marine Reserve is a marine reserve covering an area of 394 hectares (970 acres) in the Hauraki Gulf, offshore from the Tāwharanui Peninsula in the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It was established in 2011 and is administered by the Department of Conservation.

Mathesons Bay (Māori: Te Kohuroa; officially Te Kohuroa / Mathesons Bay) is a small beach in the Rodney district of the Auckland Region of New Zealand. It is 21 kilometres north-east of Warkworth, near the small community of Leigh. It comprises mainly holiday homes, with a small number of permanent residents.

Tāwharanui Peninsula is a finger of land projecting into the Hauraki Gulf from the east coast of the much larger North Auckland Peninsula of New Zealand. It separates Ōmaha Bay to the north from Kawau Bay and Kawau Island to the south. The nearest sizable town is Warkworth. Tāwharanui Regional Park covers 588 hectares of the peninsula's land and Tāwharanui Marine Reserve covers the northern coastal sea. Both are administered by Auckland Council which also owns the regional park. Geologically the peninsula consists of Waitemata Sandstone on top of folded and uplifted greywacke.Tāwharanui Marine Park was established offshore of the peninsula in 1981 as New Zealand's first Marine Protected Area. The marine park was replaced by Tāwharanui Marine Reserve in September 2011.North Island brown kiwi was reintroduced into the area.

Leigh is a small coastal community in the north of the Auckland Region of New Zealand. It lies on the west side of Omaha Cove, a small inlet within Ōmaha Bay to the south of Cape Rodney. It is 13 km from Matakana, 21 km from Warkworth and approximately 92 km north of Auckland City. Leigh is the nearest town to Cape Rodney-Okakari Point Marine Reserve surrounding Te Hāwere-a-Maki / Goat Island. The reserve, the first of its type in New Zealand, is also the location for the University of Auckland's Marine Laboratory.

Big Ōmaha is a locality of the Auckland Region, sited some 8km southwest from Leigh. There is a trail from Matakana to Pakiri Beach.

Baddeleys Beach and Campbells Beach are a contiguous settlement on adjacent beaches on the southern side of Tāwharanui Peninsula in the Auckland Region of New Zealand. The beaches are on Millon Bay, which is a part of Kawau Bay.The land around Millon Bay was originally covered by kauri and other native trees, which were the focus for logging by early European settlers. Once the land was cleared it was used for dairy farming by the Baddeley and Campbell families. In the mid-1960s, with farming proving financially marginal, blocks were sold off for the building of baches. These subsequently were upgraded to or replaced by permanent dwellings.Baddeleys Beach Reserve and Campbells Beach Reserve give public access to the beaches at each end of the settlement and provide basic amenities.

Omaha Cove, also known as Leigh Harbour, is a bay in the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located to the north-east of the township of Leigh in the Rodney local board area.
