Annaghbane (from Irish Eanach Bán 'white bog') is a rural townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. It has an area of 265.63 acres (1.08 km2). It is situated in the civil parish of Donaghmore and the historic barony of Iveagh Upper, Upper Half, located 6 miles south of Banbridge. It lies within the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.

Mayobridge Gaelic Athletic Association, also called Mayobridge Gaelic Athletic Club or Saint Patrick's Gaelic Athletic Social Club, is a Gaelic football and ladies' Gaelic football club based in Mayobridge, County Down, Northern Ireland.

Mayobridge (from Irish Droichead Mhaigh Eo 'bridge on the plain of yews') is a village within Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland, lying on the small river Clanrye which divides the townlands of Mayo and Bavan. It is located within the Newry and Mourne District Council area - it had a population of 1,069 people in the 2011 Census. It falls within the parish of Clonallan, and historically within the barony of Upper Iveagh Upper.

Drumlough (Irish: Druim Loch) is a village/townland in County Down, Northern Ireland, southwest of Rathfriland, and is located in the civil parish of Drumgath. Drumlough Highland Pipe Band was formed in 1942 and although no longer competing in RSPBA competition level, some of its members play for other bands at Grades 2 and 4. Drumlough Lake is a small fishery that is managed by Rathfriland Angling Club. The lake contains rainbow trout, pike, perch, rudd and European eel in the summer months. Specimen pike has been caught in recent seasons.

Newry and Mourne District Council (Irish: Comhairle an Iúir agus Mhúrn) was a local council in Northern Ireland. It merged with Down District Council in May 2015 under local government reorganisation in Northern Ireland to become Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. It included much of the south of County Armagh and the south of County Down and had a population of over 99,000. Council headquarters were in Newry, the largest settlement and only city in the area; it has a population of 28,850. Other towns in the council area included Crossmaglen and Bessbrook in County Armagh and Warrenpoint, Rostrevor, Hilltown, Annalong and Kilkeel (an important fishing port) in Down. The council was formed in 1973 under the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972. Its area was formed from Kilkeel, Newry and Warrenpoint Urban Districts and Kilkeel and Newry No. 1 Rural Districts in County Down, and from Newry No. 2 Rural District in County Armagh. From 1973 to 1985, the council area consisted of six electoral areas. In 1985, this was reduced to five electoral areas: Crotlieve, Fews, Newry Town, Slieve Gullion and The Mournes. One of its 30 wards, Rathfriland, was transferred to Banbridge Council in 1993. At the elections of 2005, 30 members were elected from the following political parties: 14 Sinn Féin, 9 Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP), 3 Ulster Unionist Party (UUP), 1 Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), 2 Independents and 1 United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).

Knock Iveagh (from Irish Cnoc Uíbh Eachach 'hill of Iveagh') is a hill near Rathfriland, County Down, Northern Ireland. It is topped by an ancient burial cairn and was part of a ritual landscape, associated with the Uí Eachach tribe. In the Middle Ages it was the inauguration site of the Magennis chiefs of Iveagh.

Rathfriland (from Irish Ráth Fraoileann, meaning 'ringfort of Fraoile') is a market town in County Down, Northern Ireland.

Annaclone (from Irish Eanach Luain, meaning 'marsh of the haunch-like hill') is a village and civil parish between Rathfriland and Banbridge in south County Down, Northern Ireland, about 7 km south-east of Banbridge. The village is situated in the townlands of Ardbrin and Tullintanvally and both it and the civil parish are located in the historic barony of Iveagh Upper, Upper Half. It had a population of 150 people (61 households) in the 2011 Census.The geography of Annaclone is typical of much of the area around the Mourne Mountains with rolling drumlins and farmland. Corbet Lough is a particular place of interest for anglers while the highest point of the parish, locally known as 'the Knock' offers panoramic views of the Mourne Mountains towards the south and Slieve Croob towards the north east.

Rathfriland Castle (Irish: Caislean Ráth Fraoileann) is a ruined castle at Rathfriland, County Down, Northern Ireland. The castle was a square building of 3–4 storeys with a stone barrel vault at the first floor level to reduce the risk of fire and was one of the seats of the Magennis's, Lords of Iveagh. Most of it was pulled down by Mr. William Hawkins of London, after the rebellion of 1641, and the remainder destroyed by General Henry Ireton on Oliver Cromwell's orders. The castle was mainly built from greywacke and granite. Only the southern wall remains.
