Hovrinskaya hospital (Russian: Ховринская больница; HZB, Hovrinka, Umbrella, Unfinished) was an abandoned building in the Hovrino District of Moscow in the Hovrino area, near the railway station of the same name. The building had a design which was also common to many others found within the Soviet Union. The hospital was designed to resemble the shape of a star, with branching corridors at the end of each point. The three wings of the building came together at a central point to form three courtyards with porches. Placed adjacent to the main building was an annex which housed the pathology department. Due to the unfinished construction, parts of the building only contained fragments of walls and floors, with the basement was also prone to flooding. Explanations for the abandonment of construction range from a lack of funding to possible shortcomings which emerged in the project and lead to its abandonment. According to a map of Moscow from 1952, the hospital was to be built by the river Likhoborka and surrounding wetlands with sewage treatment facilities located nearby. The abandoned building was well known among fans of urban legends as one of the most mysterious places in Moscow. Among urban explorers, the hospital earned the name "The Umbrella"' due to its resemblance to the logo of the Umbrella Corporation from the video game and film series Resident Evil and its similarity to the biohazard symbol.It is the title-place of one of the chapters of the book I Love Russia: Reporting from a Lost Country by Elena Kostyuchenko, in which many of its inhabitants and stories are portrayed.

Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (MSTUCA) is a leading institution of higher education in Russia which trains civil aviation specialists and acts as a center of science and culture training of specialists and fundamental scientific research in the field of science, technology, humanities, and economics. It is located in Moscow and was founded in 1971.

Museum of hunting and fishing (Russian: Музей охоты и рыболовства) is a museum in the north of Moscow near the Vodny Stadion metro station. Opened in 1988 in the building of the Central Hunter and Fisherman's House (Golovinskoye Shosse, 1a), the museum is the country's first museum of its kind. Its exhibition is devoted to the history of hunting and fishing in Russia. The museum is represented by the Russian association of public associations of hunters and fishermen.

Vodny Stadion (Russian: Во́дный стадио́н, Water Stadium) is a Moscow Metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. It was built in 1964 according to the standard pillar-trispan design. The pillars are clad in bluish marble and the walls are tiled in white with two stripes of blue at the base. The two entrances to the station are located near the intersection of Kronshtadtsky Boulevard and the Golovinskoye highway. The architects for this station were N. Demchinsky, Yu. Kolesnikova, and M. Markovsky. The stadium is currently mostly abandoned.

Golovinskoye cemetery (Russian: Головинское кладбище) is a cemetery in the Khovrino District, Northern Administrative Okrug in Moscow, Russia.

Khovrino District (Russian: райо́н Хо́врино) is an administrative district (raion), one of the sixteen in Northern Administrative Okrug of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. It is located along the Likhoborka River. The area is 5.727 square kilometres (2.211 sq mi) As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 80,792.

Rechnoy Vokzal (Russian: Речной вокзал, River Terminal) is a station on the Zamoskvoretskaya line of the Moscow Metro. It was opened on the New Year's Eve of 1965 and, until 2017, was the northern terminus of the line. It is named after the North River Terminal located nearby. The design follows the standardized pillar-trispan design featuring white-flecked, brown marble pillars and tiled walls. The architects were N. Demchinsky and Yu. Kolesnikova. It has two identical vestibules, located at the intersection of Festivalnaya Street and the M10 highway. Being one of the two closest subway stations to the Sheremetyevo International Airport (along with Planernaya, on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line), Rechnoy Vokzal is connected to the airport by frequent bus and passenger van service. The bus and van terminal may move to Khovrino once the transport hub is completed there.Until 1975, it was the northernmost station on the metro system and, until 2017, was the terminus of the line. Both Khovrino, which opened in December 2017, and Belomorskaya, which opened in 2018, have been completed, pushing the line further north.

Leningradskoye Highway (Russian: Ленинградское шоссе) is a part of M10 federal highway Moscow – Saint Petersburg inside Moscow. One of the major thruways of Russia's capital, it connects Moscow with several large commuter towns such as Khimki and Zelenograd, as well as with Sheremetyevo Airport.

Belomorskaya (Russian: Беломорская) is a station on the Zamoskvoretskaya line of the Moscow Metro. It was opened on 20 December 2018. It is located between Rechnoy Vokzal (south) and Khovrino (north). Belomorskaya was completed while the stretch between Rechnoy Vokzal and Khovrino was already in operation.

Golovinsky District (Russian: Головинский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of Northern Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. The area of the district is 8.806 square kilometers (3.400 sq mi). According to a 2018 estimate, the population of the district is 103,148.
