The Church of Saint Anne (Spanish: Iglesia de Santa Ana) is a Catholic church that forms part of the historic centre of Lima, Peru. It is located in Barrios Altos, next to Italy Square, and is one of two main candidates for the location of Rímac, the Indian oracle that gave the local river—and thus the city—its name. For this reason, the site receives the name of Huaca de Santa Ana (alternatively, Huaca Principal or Huaca Grande).

Barrio chino (Chinese: 利马唐人街; pinyin: Lì mǎ tángrénjiē) is a neighborhood in Lima, Peru that is centered on two blocks – 7 and 8 – of Jirón Ucayali (Ucayali Street) in downtown. The neighborhood was founded in the mid-19th century by Chinese immigrants, but it was heavily damaged in the late 19th century by the War of the Pacific and further declined in the following decades. It experienced a revival starting in the 1970s and is now a thriving resource for Chinese-Peruvian culture.

The Chinese Arch (Spanish: Arco Chino), also known as the Chinese Portal (Spanish: Portada China), is a paifang located at the entrance of Lima's Chinatown. It was donated by the Peruvian Chinese colony for the Sesquicentennial of the Independence of Peru and inaugurated with a great party on November 12, 1971, by the mayor of Lima Eduardo Dibós as part of the remodeling and enhancement of the area as a tourist attraction.In 2017, two 1.80-metre, 2.5-ton sculptures of lions located in the arch were unveiled.

The Trinitarian Church of Lima (Spanish: Iglesia y Monasterio de las Trinitarias) is a Catholic church and monastery in the colonial area of the neighbourhood of Barrios Altos in Lima, Peru. Located in the corner of Áncash and Paruro streets, it was built in a baroque and neoclassical style in 1722.

The Congress of the Republic of Peru (Spanish: Congreso de la República) is the unicameral body that assumes legislative power in Peru. Due to broadly interpreted impeachment wording in the 1993 Constitution of Peru, the Congress can impeach the President of Peru without cause, effectively making the legislature more powerful than the executive branch. Following a ruling in February 2023 by the Constitutional Court of Peru, whose members are elected by Congress, judicial oversight of the legislative body was also removed by the court, essentially giving Congress absolute control of Peru's government.Congress' composition is established by Chapter I of Title IV of the Constitution of Peru. Congress is composed of representatives who sit in congressional districts allocated to each region, as well as two special districts, Lima Province and Peruvian citizens living abroad, on a basis of population as measured by the Peruvian Census in multi-member districts. The number of voting representatives is fixed by the Constitution at 130. Pursuant to the 2017 Census, the largest delegation is that of Lima Province, with 36 representatives. Congress is charged with the responsibility to pass laws and legislative resolutions, as well as to interpret, amend, or repeal existing laws. Congress also ratifies international treaties, approves the national budget, and authorizes loans on behalf of the country. It may also override presidential observations to bills by a vote of more than half the legal number of congressmen. It can also remove government official including the President, consent to the entry of foreign troops into the national territory, and authorize the President to leave the country. Congress meets at the Legislative Palace in Lima. The presiding officer is the President of Congress, who is elected by the members thereof (and is therefore traditionally the leader of the controlling party). The President and three vice-presidents are chosen by the controlling governing coalition.

The Church and Convent of the Good Death (Spanish: Iglesia y Convento de la Buena Muerte), also known as the Church of Saint Camillus (Spanish: Iglesia San Camilo), after the order's founder, is a Catholic church and convent in the colonial area of the neighbourhood of Barrios Altos in Lima, Peru. The current temple was built at the end of the 19th century and is dedicated to Our Lady of the Good Death. It is located at the crossroads of the Áncash and Paruro streets, and is diagonal to the Trinitarian Church of Lima.

The Legislative Palace of Peru is the seat of the Congress of Peru, located on the second block of Jiron Ayacucho, on the Plaza Bolivar, in Lima, the capital of Peru. This building is made up of the chamber housing the sessions of congress, the Hemiciclo Raúl Porras Barrenechea chamber, the Hall of the Lost Steps, the offices of the Presidency of the Congress, office of the vice-presidency, the offices of congressional commissions, and the offices of various other parliamentary groups. This building houses the sessions of Congress as well as the inauguration speech of the President. The Plaza Bolivar is located in front of the congressional building while the Plaza Simón Bolívar is located to the rear. It was built by the President Óscar R. Benavides.

The Church and Convent of Our Lady of Peñafrancia (Spanish: Iglesia y Convento Máximo de Nuestra Señora de la Peña Francia), better known as St. Clare's Monastery (Spanish: Monasterio de Santa Clara), is a Catholic church, convent and monastery belonging to the Capuchin Poor Clares located in the neighbourhood of Barrios Altos, part of the historic centre of Lima, Peru. The first building is from 1606, but the current temple is from the 19th century. The monastery still occupies a large part of the extensive block in which it is located, and which is surrounded by a number of streets: Cangallo to the west, Huánuco to the east (where the former St. Clare Mill is located), Junín to the south, and Jauja and Áncash to the north. It was declared a Historical Monument in 1972.

The Monastery of Saint Rose of Lima (Spanish: Monasterio de Santa Rosa de Lima, Monasterio de Santa Rosa de Santa María or Santa Rosa de las Monjas) is a Catholic monastery dedicated to Saint Rose of Lima (born Isabel Flores de Oliva) located in the Jirón Santa Rosa, next to the Plaza Gastañeta in the historic centre of Lima, Peru.It is made up of the Church and the Monastery, it was built in the 17th and 18th centuries, next to the house in which Saint Rose of Lima lived and spent the last three months of her life until her death in her room on August 24, 1617. Said room has since been converted into a chapel.

The Museum of Congress and the Inquisition (Spanish: Museo del Congreso y la inquisición), also known as the Monumental Museum of the Inquisition and Congress (Spanish: Museo Monumental de la Inquisición y del Congreso), is a museum located at the former headquarters of the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition in the neighbourhood of Barrios Altos, part of the historic centre of Lima, Peru. Located at the fifth block of Jirón Junín, next to the Plaza Bolívar, it is dedicated to the histories of both the Tribunal and the Congress of Peru.

Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Perú (ENSABAP) (National Superior Autonomous School of Fine Arts) is a fine arts school in Lima, Peru. It is located in Barrios Altos, a suburb of Lima District. It was founded in 1918, by President José Pardo y Barreda and Peruvian painter Daniel Hernández, who was its first director. It is located in a monumental building built in the early 1940s. The National School of Fine Arts of Peru is a public institution of higher education with university status, meaning that grants the academic degree of Bachelor and bachelor's degree in their respective careers.

The Plaza Bolivar is also known as the Plaza of Congress or Plaza of the Inquisition as it is surrounded by the Legislative Palace which is the seat of the Congress of Peru, and the site of the former Tribunal of the Inquisition. It is located in the Barrios Altos neighborhood of the Historic Center of Lima, the capital of Peru. It is located at the second block of Abancay avenue, three blocks east of the Plaza Mayor of Lima. Gatherings and parades are held at the plaza during national holidays due to Simon Bolivar, being the liberator of five South American countries, being the plaza's namesake.
