Anadolu Shipyard (Turkish: Anadolu Deniz İnşaat Kızakları San. ve Tic. A.Ş.) (ADİK) is a Turkish shipyard located in Tuzla, Istanbul. The shipyard mostly builds amphibious warfare ships as part of the defense industry.

Sedef Shipyard (Turkish: Sedef Tersanesi) is a Turkish shipyard established in Gebze, Kocaeli in 1972. Shipyard moved to Tuzla, Istanbul in 1990. The shipyard is building defense industry ships and commercial ships such as the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu to be used by the Turkish Naval Forces. In 2000, the shipyard became a subsidiary of Turkon Holding.The shipyard was qualified in 2009 by obtaining the necessary documents to take part in military projects. In 2013, the company won the tender for a multi-purpose amphibious assault ship project, which will be the largest ship in the Turkish Navy and can carry one battalion. Within the scope of this project, the construction of TCG Anadolu started in 2015 and the ship was launched in 2019.The construction of a sister ship, to be named TCG Trakya, is currently planned by the Turkish Navy.

Tuzla is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. It has a population of 288,878 (2022) and a land area of 138 km2 . It is on the Asian side of the city next to the municipality of Pendik. Tuzla is on a headland on the coast of Marmara Sea, at the eastern limit of the city. The mayor is Şadi Yazıcı (AKP).

The Turkish Naval Academy (Turkish: Deniz Harp Okulu) is a four-year co-educational military academy and part of the National Defence University. It is located in the district of Tuzla in Istanbul. Its mission is to develop cadets mentally and physically for service as commissioned officers in the Turkish Navy. It must not be confused with Naval War Institute (Deniz Harp Enstitüsü).

Ada Shipyard (Turkish: Ada Tersanesi) is a Turkish shipyard established in Tuzla, Istanbul in 2008.

Yonca Shipyard (Turkish: Yonca Teknik Tersanesi) is a Turkish shipyard established in Istanbul, Turkey in 1986. It builds fast patrol boats for the defence and law enforcement missions.

İçmeler railway station (Turkish: İçmeler istasyonu) is a railway station in Tuzla, Istanbul. The station was originally opened in 1954 by the Turkish State Railways, as İçme railway station and was a stop on the Haydarpaşa suburban commuter rail line. The original station consisted of two side platforms with two tracks. İçme station was also serviced by the popular Adapazarı Express regional rail service from Istanbul to Adapazarı.The station was closed down on 1 February 2012, when all train traffic between Pendik and Arifiye was temporarily suspended due to construction of the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed railway. The station was demolished shortly after and a new station was built in its place. The new station consists of an island platform serving two tracks, with a third express track on the south side. İçmeler station is opened in 12 March 2019 along with the entire Marmaray line.

Aydıntepe railway station (Turkish: Aydıntepe istasyonu) is a railway station in Tuzla, Istanbul. Up until 2012, the station was a stop on the Haydarpaşa suburban commuter rail line. The original station consisted of two side platforms with two tracks. Aydıntepe station was closed down on 1 February 2012, when all train traffic between Pendik and Arifiye was temporarily suspended due to construction of the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed railway. The station was demolished shortly after and a new station was built in its place. The new station consists of an island platform serving two tracks, with a third express track on the south side. The station was closed on 1 February 2012, when all train traffic between Pendik and Arifiye was temporarily suspended due to construction of the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed railway. It was demolished shortly thereafter and a new station built in its place, consisting of an island platform serving two tracks, with a third express track on the south side. Güzelyalı Station opened in 12 March 2019 along with the entire Marmaray line.

The station was demolished shortly after and a new station was built in its place. The new station consists of an island platform serving two tracks, with a third express track on the south side. Tersane station was opened on March 12, 2019 along with the entire Marmaray line.

Piri Reis University (Turkish: Piri Reis Üniversitesi) (common usage: Piri Reis Maritime University) is a private university founded by the Turkish Maritime Education Foundation in 2008 in Istanbul, Turkey. Named after the Turkish admiral and cartographer Piri Reis (ca. 1470–1554), it is devoted to the education of maritime studies.
