Scotch Creek (Shuswap: Cemetetkwe ) is a small community in British Columbia based on summer tourism located on the shores of Shuswap Lake at the mouth of the creek of the same name.Traditionally, Cemetetkwe was important for hunting, berry picking, cedar roots and birch bark for baskets.Scotch Creek is home to one of the most popular parks in the province of British Columbia called Shuswap Lake Provincial Park. The park operates at capacity from early July to Labour Day (early September). The park is situated on the old delta of Scotch Creek and has one kilometre of sandy, pebble beach. The park also offers a large grassy play area, an adventure playground, a large boat launch, and a self-guiding nature trail. The park is situated directly across from Copper Island, which is located 1.3 kilometres offshore. Scotch Creek has different places that sell supplies, groceries, and many recreational opportunities including bumper boats, mini-golf driving range, go-carts, para-sailing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, boat and jet-ski rentals are offered by near-by businesses.

Shuswap Lake Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada. Shuswap Lake Provincial Park is located in the community of Scotch Creek, on the north shore of the main arm of Shuswap Lake in the Southern Interior of BC. The park is about 45 minutes north (by road) of Salmon Arm, and about 1 hour east of Kamloops. The park contains a large campground with approximately 275 camping sites, as well as a large sand and gravel beach and day use/picnic area. It is a very popular park, with many thousands of people, primarily from BC and Alberta, camping there every year. The Park is located on an old delta of Scotch Creek, and was the location of First Nations settlements. Some evidence of Kekuli (semi-subterranean pit houses used by Shuswap First Nations peoples) exist within the park boundaries, and a model of this type of structure has been constructed near the park's Nature House.

Scotch Creek is a stream in the British Columbia Interior of Canada, located on the north side of Shuswap Lake. It is part of the Thompson River watershed, which is a tributary to the Fraser River. It flows from the Shuswap Highlands into Shuswap Lake just west of the community of Scotch Creek. It was named for Scottish gold prospectors who worked the creek with placer mining operations in the 1860s. The creek's headwaters are near Pukeshun Mountain, and flow southwest and south for 56.5 kilometres (35.1 mi). The creek supports sockeye salmon, which breed in the creek during a small salmon run in the autumn.

The Adams River is a tributary to the Thompson and Fraser Rivers in British Columbia, Canada. Beginning in the Monashee Mountains to the north, the Upper Adams River flows mainly southward and eventually reaches Adams Lake. The Lower Adams River begins at the southern end of the lake and flows into the extreme western end of Shuswap Lake. The river is one of the most important sockeye salmon breeding areas in North America. The run occurs in mid-October and can bring millions of fish to a concentrated area near the river mouth. Excavations of Secwepemc villages on the river have shown a long tradition of habitation and salmon fishing in the area. The river also served as an important transportation route for early logging operations in the watershed.

Blind Bay is an unincorporated settlement located on the bay of the same name, at the southwest end of Shuswap Lake in the Shuswap region of the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada. Part of Blind Bay is a golf course community with numerous other recreation activities including a grass air strip, tennis, pickleball, hiking, and model airplane flying. As of the 2021 census, the population of Blind Bay is 2,369.

Squilax is a settlement in British Columbia, located on the northeast shore of Little Shuswap Lake.Squilax, as distinguished from Chase, which is adjacent, refers to the reserve communities of the Little Shuswap Indian Band, whose head offices are on Quaaout Indian Reserve No. 1, one of the five reserves governed by that band.Squilax, also spelt "Skw'lax" is close to the Secwepmectsin word for Black Bear. Almost everyone in the area is family or grew up together. Two well known families in the area are the Arnouse's and August's who have lived in the land for a long time. The August family is originally from Enderby, but moved for unknown reasons. Squilax holds a Pow Wow every summer and competitions for dancers. It is a fairly small area to the point once you live there you know who lives in which house, what trails will take you where, and kids run around and their parents know where exactly they are. It is a close community with many stories. There are traditional winter houses and summer houses by the Quaaout Lodge and Talking Rock Resort.

Balmoral is an unincorporated settlement in the Shuswap Country region of the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada. It is located to the south of Blind Bay on Shuswap Lake and is administered by the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District.

Celista is a small community located along the north shore of Shuswap Lake in British Columbia, Canada. The local school is North Shuswap Elementary school, which has grades one to eight and has an annual enrollment of just over 100 students. In recent years the exploding tourism industry has taken over and the majority of the residences are now owned for summer use only. Local residents have notable self pride and most are employed by local cash crops ranging in species. Other notable establishments within the community include: Celista Hall (used to host local meetings as well as the "coffee house" (a display of local musical talent) throughout the year), Kokopelli Internet Cafe (a hotspot for internet and coffee open only in the summer boom), and the Sunnyside Supermarket (which provides locals with movie rentals and groceries as well as gasoline (majorly used by snowmobilers who destination is nearby crowfoot mountain)). Other businesses in the community include a mechanic shop, Naomi's Beads and Sun Beach water sports equipment. There is also a community skating rink during the winter on Meadow Creek Road. The area also holds a variety of hiking and walking trails.

Tappen is an unincorporated community in British Columbia. The settlement is located on the shores of Shuswap Lake. It is colloquially known as "Rust Valley", and is the location of the TV show Rust Valley Restorers. The area of the community was originally named Tappen Siding, according to the Vernon & District Family History Society and was named after Canadian Pacific Railway construction contractor Herbert Tappen. A sawmill was built in 1883 and Tappen first appeared on BC Land maps in 1891. A year later the Tappen Siding post office opened in 1892, though it was closed a few years later in 1897.
