Mala Bosna (river)

The Željeznica (Serbian Cyrillic: Жељезница) is a river in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which rises at the foot of the Treskavica Mountain. It has a number of rapids and whirlpools, including those of Turovi. Kazani is regarded the most attractive place in the canyon, where round hollows, "kettles", give the impression of boiling water. The kettles are about half to one meter deep and 0,30 to 0,70 cm wide in radius, and they are frequent in the riverbed.The Željeznica river is one of the chief geographic features of the western Sarajevo field (Sarajevo polje). It flows through the municipalities Trnovo and Istočna Ilidža from south and eventually meets up with the Mala Bosna river, a stretch of the Bosna between its source at Vrelo Bosne and Željeznica confluence, all near Ilidža, Sarajevo. The Željeznica and the Mala Bosna form the Bosna. The Željeznica river is the western boundary of Jahorina mountain. The archaeological site of Butmir is located on the right bank of the Željeznica river, relatively close to the source of the Bosna river. The terrace next to the Željeznica river was well suited to late Neolithic settlement.The Željeznica is possibly among last remaining sanctuaries for huchen (Hucho hucho) in the Bosna river basin, others being the Krivaja, the Fojnica, and possibly the Lašva.

The Roman bridge in Ilidža (Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian: Rimski Most / Римски мост) is a bridge located in Ilidža, a chief suburb of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was built in the 16th century using actual Roman stones and crosses the Bosna river. The Roman Bridge is located not far from Vrelo Bosne on the Bosna river in the Ilidža municipality. It was constructed sometime between 1530 and 1550 from the original Roman stones and ruins of the bridge that stood there during the Roman period. The bridge connected the Romans with the village of Aquae Sulphurae at the time. Ilidža is also known to have been an archaeological site dating 2400–2000BC.

Otes (Cyrillic: Отес) is a settlement in the municipality of Ilidža, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is bordered by Pejton, Vreoca, Osjek and Stup. The territory has 5,000 inhabitants and an area of 155 ha. It is located between the Sarajevo–Ploče railway and the rivers AJDobrinja, Željeznica and pejton pejton Bosna.

Ilidža (Serbian Cyrillic: Илиџа, pronounced [i.lǐ.dʒa]) is a spa town and a municipality located in Sarajevo Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It has a total population of 66,730 with 63,528 in Ilidža itself, and is a chief suburb of Sarajevo and de facto its neighborhood. It is best known for the Vrelo Bosne spring, as well as the natural environment of its surroundings and historical tradition dating back to Neolithic times. Sarajevo International Airport is located nearby.

Radio ASK is a Bosnian commercial radio station, broadcasting from Ilidža, near Sarajevo. The program is currently broadcast at one frequency (Sarajevo 89.9 MHz) and the station focuses on contemporary music, talk shows and local news. Radio Ask was founded on 25 May 1994 (During Bosnian war and Siege of Sarajevo).

Vrelo Bosne (Bosnian: Vrelo Bosne, pronounced [ʋrê.lo bôs.neː]; transl. Spring of the Bosna) is a public park and a protected Nature Monument established around the source of the Bosna river, featuring the system of numerous springs at the foothills of Mount Igman, in the municipality of Ilidža, on the outskirts of Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vrelo Bosne is one of the country's popular natural landmarks and provides a quiet escape from city life.

The Miljacka (Serbian Cyrillic: Миљацка) is a river in Bosnia and Herzegovina that passes through Sarajevo. Numerous city bridges have been built to cross it.

Bojnik is a village in the municipality of Novi Grad, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the 2013 census, the village has a population of 399.

The Sarajevo Canton, officially the Canton of Sarajevo (Bosnian: Kanton Sarajevo; Croatian: Sarajevska županija; Serbian Cyrillic: Сарајевски кантон), is one of the ten cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its cantonal seat is the city of Sarajevo, also the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Canton represents the metro area of Sarajevo. It contains 97% of the city's population, but a much smaller percentage of the official land area. The majority of the population is Bosniak (83,8%).

Ahatovići is a town located in the municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The town is located in the historical region of Crnotina near Saraj Polje at the harbors of the Bosna river, on the north of the town two hills are located named Strahoč (782m) and Krstac (861m).. Ahatovići borders the towns of Dobroševići and Reljevo and the villages of Bojnik, Gornja Bioča (Ilijaš) and Rečica.

The Ahatovići massacre was the mass killing of 47 captured Bosniak soldiers from the town of Ahatovići, in the municipality of Novi Grad, Sarajevo by the Army of Republika Srpska during the Bosnian War.
