Mariscal Sucre International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional Mariscal Sucre) (IATA: UIO, ICAO: SEQU) was the main international airport serving Quito, Pichincha Province, Ecuador. It was the busiest airport in Ecuador by passenger traffic, by aircraft movement and by cargo movement, and one of the busiest airports in South America. It was named after Venezuelan-born Antonio José de Sucre, a hero of Ecuadorian and Latin American independence. It began operations in 1960, and during its last years of operation, handled about 6.2 million passengers and 164,000 metric tons of freight per year. The airport, one of the highest in the world (at 2,800 metres or 9,200 feet AMSL) was located in the northern part of the city, in the Chaupicruz parish, within five minutes of Quito's financial center; the terminals were located at the intersection of Amazonas and La Prensa avenues. Mariscal Sucre International was the largest hub for TAME with an average of 50 daily departures. The old Mariscal Sucre International Airport ceased all operations at 19:00 on February 19, 2013, following the departure of TAME flight 321 to Guayaquil (scheduled for 18:55). Iberia operated the final international departure from the airport. On the morning of February 20, 2013, all operations moved to the new airport of the same name. The first domestic flights scheduled to arrive at the new airport were TAME Flight 302 originating in Guayaquil, and LAN Flight 2590 originating in Lima, Peru. The new airport is located in the Tababela parish, about 18 kilometres (11 mi) to the east of the city. It was constructed by a private consortium.The former airport is now the site of Parque Bicentenario, the biggest urban park in Quito. Due to its location in the middle of a city surrounded by mountains, the old airport could no longer be expanded to accommodate any larger aircraft or an increase in air traffic. Its operation posed risks; several serious accidents and incidents had occurred in years prior to its closure.

The Bicentennial Park known also as Parque Bicentenario de Quito is a public green space in the city of Quito, capital of Ecuador. It is located in the north of the city, on the same land that belonged to the old airport of the city, flanked by Amazonas Avenue to the west, Galo Plaza and Real Audiencia to the east, and del Maestro to the north. Jurisdictionally, the park is located in the urban parishes of La Concepción, Kennedy and Cotocollao, although most of it is within the first. With its 125 hectares, it constitutes the largest green area within the city, surpassing La Carolina Park, which had held that record until April 27, 2013, when Bicentennial was opened to the public for the first time.

The Quito Metropolitan Convention Center (CCMQ), also known as the Bicentenario Convention Center, is a complex of municipally owned buildings that constitutes the main convention center of the city of Quito, Ecuador. The complex is located on the grounds of the terminal of the Old Mariscal Sucre Airport, surrounded by Bicentenario Park, in the parish of La Concepción, north of the Ecuadorian capital.

Academia Cotopaxi (Academia Cotopaxi American International School) is an English-based, independent, non-profit, international school in Quito, Ecuador. Alice Conger was the first director of the school. This school maintains a majority of international students, who are the children of the diplomatic missions to Ecuador and children of employees of major international corporations, as well as local students.

El Labrador is a Quito Metro station. It was officially opened on 21 December 2022 as the northern terminus of the inaugural section of the system between Quitumbe and El Labrador. The revenue service started on 2 May 2023 and discontinued on 11 May 2003. The adjacent station is Jipijapa.It is an underground station, located 9 m below the surface.The station is located on Calle Isaac Albéniz, next to the eponymous transport terminal. The entrance to the metro station is integrated with the entrances to the bus and trolleybus stations of the terminal. This is one of five such integrated stations of the first stretch of Quito Metro. It has access for disabled passengers.The first train arrived to the station on 30 October 2020, during the trial phase. On 23 January 2023, the first train with 600 passengers to whom invitations were extended, arrived.

Plaza de toros de Quito is a bull ring in Quito, Ecuador. It ceased to be used for bull fighting after a referendum in which the citizenry voted against such practice in the Quito district. The stadium holds 15,000 people and it opened on 5 March 1960. Jipijapa metro station is nearby.

Jipijapa is a Quito Metro station. It was officially opened on 21 December 2022 as part of the inaugural section of the system between Quitumbe and El Labrador. The revenue service started on 2 May 2023 and discontinued on 11 May 2003. The station is located between El Labrador and Iñaquito.This is an underground station. The estimated daily number of passengers would be 53 thousands. The station has access for disabled passengers. It also has escalators. The station is painted in blue color.The station is located at the intersection of Avenida Amazonas, Avenida Juan de Ascaray, and Avenida Tomas de Berlanga, next to Plaza de Toros.The construction was completed on 31 March 2021, after which the process of transfer of the station to the city was started, and the process was completed on 2 May 2021. On 23 January 2023, the first train with 600 passengers to whom invitations were extended, arrived to the station.

On 9 August 2023, eleven days before the 2023 Ecuadorian general election, presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio was assassinated after leaving a campaign rally in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. One assailant was killed during the attack. Several bystanders, including security personnel and a legislative candidate, were injured.

Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado, commonly called La Casa Blanca (Spanish for "The White House"), is a football stadium in Quito, Ecuador that is the home ground of LDU Quito. Built between 1995 and 1997, the stadium hosted its first match on March 6, 1997 in a game between LDU Quito and Atlético Mineiro of Belo Horizonte. At an altitude of 2,734 m and with a capacity of 41,575, it is the largest stadium in Quito, and the second largest in Ecuador after the Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha in Guayaquil. Since its inauguration, the stadium has been home to LDU Quito's greatest period of success where it has won six national titles and four international titles. The Ecuador national team used this stadium twice during the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualification on March 29, 2000 against Venezuela and August 15, 2000 against Bolivia. Ecuador won both games.

Lycée franco-équatorien La Condamine is a French international school in Quito, Ecuador. It has programmes from the primary level until the terminale, the final year of lycée (senior high school or lyceum). It is part of the network of the Agency for French Education Abroad.

The Cotocollao Parish is a parish in northwest Quito, Ecuador. It is one of the biggest parishes of the city. The use of the area is primarily residential, however it also has a very active commercial zone around the Avenida de La Prensa and has the "El Condado" shopping mall. Cotocollao has a central plaza with an old Catholic church, named "San Juan Bautista de Cotocollao", this was the first church built at north of the city. There are many older buildings in this section of Quito that contrast the more recent architecture of modern buildings. The Cotocollao Parish contains the "Aurelio Espinoza Pólit" library which is notable for researchers since it has one of the most complete collections of old Ecuadorian books. It also contains the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado, a stadium which is the home field for the soccer team "Liga." El Centro del Muchacho Trabajador, or The Working Boy Center, has a complex located in Cotocollao.

The Working Boys' Center (Centro del Muchacho Trabajador: CMT), also known as the Center for Working Families, is a facility in Quito, founded by the Society of Jesus in 1964. It offers social programs for the human and economic development of working boys (and girls since 1974) and their families. Its stated aim is to give working children help to escape from extreme poverty and to gain control of their own lives. CMT states its approach to achieving this is by providing education for the working children and for their families, together with meals, health services, housing assistance, loans to start up microbusinesses, and cultural enhancement.
