The Metropolitan Pavilion is an exhibition venue located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Opened in 1992, the 45,000 sq ft (4,200 m2) venue offers four loft event spaces in one location. The Metropolitan Pavilion is situated next door to the old Altman Building, and on occasion, the two connected buildings are utilized as one extra-large event space.The Metropolitan Pavilion has been host to comic book conventions, toy shows, art exhibitions, film festivals, fashion shows, food festivals, fencing tournaments, political fundraisers, weddings, and other gala events. These events include the Big Apple Comic Con, the Pinta Art Show, the Outsider Art Fair, and the American Folk Art Museum.

Winston Preparatory School is an independent private school for students with learning disabilities (such as dyslexia, ADHD, and NVLD) in grades 4-12. The school has campuses in New York City; Suffolk County, New York; Norwalk, Connecticut; Whippany, New Jersey; and Marin, California. The organization also operates a post-secondary "Transitions" in New York City. Winston Preparatory School is chartered by the State of New York and is a member of ISAAGNY, NYSAIS, NEASC, and NAIS. The New York School is accredited by NYSAIS and NEASC. The organization also has a research and public outreach division called the Winston Innovation Lab.

18th Street was a station on the demolished IRT Sixth Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It had two tracks and two side platforms. It was served by trains from the IRT Sixth Avenue Line and opened in 1892. It closed on December 4, 1938, and was not replaced with a subway station on the IND Sixth Avenue Line. However, one block north of the station there was a 19th Street station on the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad that operated between 1908 and 1954. The next southbound stop was 14th Street. The next northbound stop was 23rd Street.

The Jefferson School of Social Science was an adult education institution of the Communist Party USA located in New York City. The so-called "Jeff School" was launched in 1944 as a successor to the party's New York Workers School, albeit skewed more towards community outreach and education rather than the training of party functionaries and activists, as had been the primary mission of its predecessor. Peaking in size in 1947 and 1948 with an attendance of about 5,000, the Jefferson School was embroiled in controversy during the McCarthy period including a 1954 legal battle with the Subversive Activities Control Board over the school's refusal to register as a so-called "Communist-controlled organization." With the Communist Party in membership decline and financial chaos, the Jefferson School was forced to close its doors in 1956 in the face of government pressure.

The Rubin Museum of Art, also known as the Rubin Museum is a museum dedicated to the collection, display, and preservation of the art and cultures of the Himalayas, the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia and other regions within Eurasia, with a permanent collection focused particularly on Tibetan art. COOKFOX Architects (formerly Cook+Fox Architects) is a firm of architects founded by Rick Cook and Robert F. Fox, Jr. in 2003. The firm works on both new projects and on the adaptive reuse of existing buildings. COOKFOX is best known for designing the Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park.

The 18th Street station is a local station on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 18th Street and Seventh Avenue in Manhattan, it is served by the 1 train at all times and by the 2 train during late nights. The station was built by the Interborough Rapid Transit Company (IRT) as part of the Dual Contracts with New York City, and opened on July 1, 1918. The station had its platforms extended in the 1960s, and was renovated in 1991-1992.

The Peter McManus Café is among the oldest family-owned and operated bars in New York City. It opened in 1936 and is located at 152 Seventh Avenue on the corner of West 19th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The bar has been Zagat-rated and written about in numerous articles, and appeared in the book The Hundred Best Bars in NYC with a high rating. The bar has also received several awards. The current proprietor is James Justin McManus.

The Church of the Holy Communion and Buildings are historic Episcopal church buildings at 656–662 Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue) at West 20th Street in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, New York City. The church is a New York City landmark, designated in 1966, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is located within New York City's Ladies' Mile Historic District.

Xavier High School is an independent university-preparatory high school for boys run by the USA Northeast Province of the Society of Jesus in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It was founded in 1847, as the College of St. Francis Xavier (also known as St. Francis Xavier College) by John Larkin.
