Potomac Senior High School (Virginia)

Batestown is an extinct unincorporated community in Prince William County, Virginia. The town was located along the farthest terminus of Batestown Road in what is now a western neighborhood of Dumfries along the banks of Quantico Creek. It was an enclave for freed slaves named for Mary Bates, the matriarch of the community.Batestown and Hickory Ridge both suffered the same fate. Between 1933 and 1937, the Federal Government began implementing a Resettlement Administration program to form Chopawamsic Recreational Demonstration Area, where rural farmers were supposed to relocate for more fertile land. The RA bought 79 pieces of property in both Hickory Ridge and Batestown and condemned another 48, to form a new recreation area. However, the RA often made no effort to actually resettle the displaced residents. The area residents resisted the relocation efforts, sometimes retreating into the park boundaries to escape detection. This continued until the beginning of World War II, where the park was taken over by the Office of Strategic Services as a spy training ground. The park was surrounded by barbed wire and fences, and patrolled by dogs and armed guards. All remaining forty-four holdouts were evicted, some literally carried away screaming.At the end of the war, the displaced residents hoped their land would be restored, but to date these families have received no compensation. Instead, the property was turned over to the National Park Service and renamed Prince William Forest Park.

Southbridge is an unincorporated master-planned community of over 1,500 homes with more than 5,000 residents located in Prince William County, Virginia. It is situated on over 600 acres (2.4 km2) near the Potomac River on the Cherry Hill peninsula just north of the Town of Dumfries.

It is located in Woodbridge in unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia, United States, and is part of Prince William County Public Schools. The school is located on 15201 Neabsco Mills Road. In May 2007, Newsweek Magazine ranked Freedom 1148th in the nation on its annual list of "Best High Schools in America." Another Freedom High School is located in adjoining Loudoun County, Virginia which shares the same mascot and colors. Freedom High School is located at 38°37′17″N 77°17′15″W (38.621389° N, -77.2875° W). Freedom High School is home to a 9/11 memorial in the shape of a sundial. The Freedom Varsity Football Team won the VHSL 6A State Championship in the 2022-23 season, ranked 100 nationally.

The Henderson House is a historic U.S. home located in Dumfries, Virginia. Alexander Henderson built this home in the late 18th century near the Old Post Road (King's Highway). Alexander Henderson was the father of Archibald Henderson, fifth Commandant of the Marine Corps. During the American Revolutionary War, the Hendersons entertained many important officers and men in this house. During the American Civil War, both the Confederate and the Union armies used the house as a hospital depending on which occupied the area. A cannonball struck the house during the American Civil War and remained lodged in the west wall for about 100 years until a souvenir hunter stole it in the 1960s.

Weems–Botts House Museum is a small historic museum in Dumfries, Virginia, United States. The museum includes the landmark Weems–Botts House on the corner of Duke Street and Cameron Street and the Weems–Botts Museum Annex, which houses the Lee Lansing Research Library and Archive, located at 3944 Cameron Street. Both buildings are located in Merchant Park. The park's bandstand commemorates William Grayson, one of Prince William County's most respected citizens and one of Virginia's first senators. The museum tour showcases the history of Dumfries, Virginia's oldest chartered town, and people associated with the house, including Mason Locke "Parson" Weems, and attorney Benjamin Botts.The museum was restored in 1975 as part of a bicentennial U.S. restoration project. The museum is owned by the Town of Dumfries and operated by Historic Dumfries Virginia, Inc., a non-profit organization.

Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School is a private, college preparatory, coeducational Catholic high school in Dumfries, Virginia led by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia. As a diocesan school of the Diocese of Arlington, it is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In 2012 it was included in the Cardinal Newman Society's Top 50 Catholic High Schools list. Rippon Lodge is one of the oldest houses remaining in Prince William County, Virginia, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1971. Built around 1747 by Richard Blackburn (1705-1757) as the main residence and headquarters of his plantation, it lies on high ground overlooking Neabsco Creek at the south end of what is now the unincorporated town of Woodbridge at 15520 Blackburn Road. The house takes its name from Richard Blackburn's birthplace, the small city of Ripon in North Yorkshire, England.

Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center, also commonly referred to as Stonebridge PTC or simply Stonebridge, is a lifestyle center in Woodbridge, Virginia, United States. It features a mix of retail, office buildings, and apartments. was developed by Roadside Developments and construction beginning in 2007. Stonebridge is located along Interstate 95 just east of the freeway, with Opitz Boulevard (SR 2000) to the north, Dale Boulevard (SR 784) to the south, and Potomac Center Boulevard to the east. Continuous expansions to the center are made, with recent additions such as the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Potomac Town Center condominiums.
