Ward No. 58, Kolkata Municipal Corporation is an administrative division of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in Borough No. 7, covering parts of Tangra (Seal Lane), Dhapa (Mathpukur) and East Kolkata Wetlands (Arupota-Bosetala-Boinchtala-Durgapur-Anandabad-Khanaberia) neighbourhoods in central-east Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. The Eastern Metropolitan Bypass cuts across the ward.

Barun Sengupta Metro Station is a station of Line 6 of the Kolkata Metro close to Science City at Parama Island, Dhapa. The station is named in honour of the founder of Bartaman, Barun Sengupta.

Science City Kolkata is the largest science centre in Asia. It is managed by National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India. It is located at the crossing of Eastern Metropolitan Bypass and J. B. S. Haldane Avenue (Parama Island) in East Topsia. Saroj Ghose, the first director general of NCSM, is credited with having conceptualised this centre in 1997. This centre was inaugurated by two parts: the ‘Convention Centre Complex’ was unveiled on 21 December 1996 by Paul Jozef Crutzen in presence of the then chief minister Jyoti Basu and the whole centre was opened by the then prime minister Inder Kumar Gujral on 1 July 1997. On 10 January 2010, prime minister of India, Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone for the second phase of Science City in presence of the then chief minister of West Bengal, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.It is an ideal place to visit and enjoy, great for science students.

Beleghata (also known as Metropolitan), is a station of Line 6 of the Kolkata Metro located in Beleghata at Biswa Bangla Sarani, Dhapa of Kolkata, West Bengal, India, serving Beleghata and Metropolitan areas. The station is elevated beside the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass.

Tiretta Bazaar, is a neighborhood near Lalbazar in Central Kolkata. It is usually called Old China Market. The locality was once home to 20,000 ethnic Chinese Indian nationals, but now the population has dropped to approximately 2,000. Most of the Hakka Chinese people in the area moved closer to Tangra. The traditional occupation of the Chinese Indian community in Kolkata had been working in the nearby tanning industry as well as in Chinese restaurants. The area is still noted for the Chinese restaurants where many people flock to taste traditional Chinese and Indian Chinese cuisine.

Topsia is a neighbourhood of East Kolkata, in West Bengal, India.

Gobinda Chandra Khatick Road (formerly Hughes Road) is a famous thoroughfare in the city of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India. The road runs past Grace Ling Liang Church, Tangra Police Station and largely through the China Town areas of Tangra in East Kolkata and crosses Pulin Khatik Road and Christopher Road at separate intersections. Gobinda Chandra Khatik road is 2.1 kilometers in length from the Tangra Slaughterhouse to the Topsia Junction. It demarcated the Eastern Fringes of the city at a time when Chinese operated Tanneries and Leatherworks dominated the area. Nowadays, China Town is a haven of Indo Chinese Fusion food and has crafted a legacy in its own right. Initially called Hughes Road until 1985, the name was renamed to recognise the contribution of Late Gobinda Khatik. Recent Urbanization and rapid growth has rapidly changed the landscape of Tangra and traffic snarls on the once empty road are common. The road is long and narrow and caters to Bi-Directional traffic. Dhangars, a community of Untouchable sanitary workers established their colony along this road. The road falls under Ward no. 56, 59 and 66 of the KMC.

RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT) is a government sponsored engineering institute which is located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The institute was established in 1999. Government aids are given to the institution by Government of West Bengal and is academically affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. D.N. De Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital is a government homoeopathic medical college and hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was established in 1927 and one of the oldest homeopathic medical colleges in India. The college is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. It is also recognized by the Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH). It offers B.H.M.S. (Bachelor in Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery) and M.D. (Homoeopathy) courses. This college was established as Dunham College of Homoeopathy in 1927, and later renamed as D.N. De Homoeopathic Medical College in the name of its founder Dr. D. N. De. in the January’ 1951.

National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases or NICED (also known as ICMR-NICED) is an Indian medical institute that conducts research and develops prevention and treatment and control strategies related to enteric diseases and HIV/AIDS. The headquarter of NICED is located at Kolkata, West Bengal. NICED is affiliated to and financed by Indian Council of Medical Research.
