Sorgane is a neighbourhood of Florence, Tuscany, Italy, located in the southeastern part of the city near the border with Bagno a Ripoli. It is part of the city's Quartiere 3 administrative district. Originally a rural hamlet centred on Villa Giusti, Sorgane was redeveloped in the late 1950s and 1960s as a large public housing estate. The master plan, coordinated by Giovanni Michelucci in 1957, envisioned a satellite town for around 12,000 residents, although the project was later reduced in scale. The final scheme was designed by three architectural teams: one led by Leonardo Savioli (with Danilo Santi, Vittorio Giorgini, Ferrero Gori, Piero Melucci and Marco Dezzi Bardeschi), one led by Leonardo Ricci (with Antonio Canali, Luigi Cencetti, Fabrizio Milanese, Gianfranco Petrelli and Ernesto Trapani), and one led by Ferdinando Poggi (with Mario Focacci, Sirio Pastorini, Bruno Pedotti, Primo Saccardi and Giuseppe Sagrestani). Sorgane is regarded as one of the most significant examples of post-war residential architecture in Florence.

The Villa di Mondeggi is a villa located south to Florence (Italy), on the territories of the cities of Bagno a Ripoli, Impruneta and Greve in Chianti. Since 2014, the arable land, olive groves and some of the buildings are occupied by a group reclaiming the land to be managed in accordance with the principles of the commons.

The Florence Academy of Art is an American art school in Florence, in Tuscany in central Italy. It was started by Daniel Graves, an American painter, in 1991. Teaching is in the traditional style of the old masters. The school is a branch of the International Academy of Fine Art, and is recognised as a certificate programme by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. The school is not listed by the Italian ministry of education, the Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca, among the institutions authorised to award degrees in music, dance and the arts.A review in The New York Times in 2003 of a show of works by students of the school at the Hirschl and Adler gallery in Manhattan, New York, was not wholly negative, but spoke of " … inertly composed still lifes, laughable allegories and preciously romantic self-portraits ... glazed by decades of exposure to tobacco smoke".

Santa Maria e Santa Brigida al Paradiso is a Roman Catholic parish church located on via Benedetto Fortini in the quatiere of Gavinana in the zone of Paradiso, just south of the urban center of Florence, region of Tuscany, Italy. The church is also known as Santi Maria e Brigida alla Badiuzza di Fabroro

The Fonte della Fata Morgana (Fountain of Fata Morgana), locally also called '"Casina delle Fate" (Little Fairy House), at Grassina, is a small garden building located not far from Florence, Italy, in the comune of Bagno a Ripoli. It was built in 1573–74 as a garden feature in the extensive grounds of the Villa il Riposo of Bernardo Vecchietti on the slope of the hill called Fattucchia. It is among that group of artificial garden grottoes and nympheums made for private gardens, and less well known than those in the Boboli Gardens or the Medici villa at Pratolino. The Fonte della Fata Morgana at one time was enriched by sculptures, including one by Giambologna. Recently acquired by the Comune di Bagno a Ripoli, the site is under restoration.

The Museo del Calcio is a sports museum dedicated to the history of the Italy national football team, located in a building of the Centro Tecnico Federale di Coverciano in the Coverciano quartiere of Florence, Italy. The museum, which is part of the Fondazione Museo del Calcio, is a center of historical documentation of football in Italy. The museum displays numerous memorabilia of the Italian Football Federation since 1934 (balls, medals, shoes, cups, sweaters, etc.), as well as a digital information center with an archive of photographs and videos.

Villa Gamberaia is a seventeenth-century villa near Settignano, outside Florence, Tuscany, Italy. It is it characterized now by eighteenth-century terraced garden. The setting was praised by Edith Wharton, who saw it after years of tenant occupation with its parterre planted with roses and cabbages, and by Georgina Masson, who saw it restored by Sig. Marcello Marchi after its near ruin during the Second World War. to the immaculately clipped and tailored condition today.

Coverciano (Italian: [koverˈtʃaːno]) is a city quartiere in the southeastern part of Florence, Italy. The neighborhood is bordered by the Affrico and Mensola streams, by the slopes of the hills and by the Via Aretina. It is best known for the two parish churches (the church of Santa Maria in Coverciano and the church dedicated to St. Catherine of Siena), the Centro Tecnico Federale di Coverciano of the FIGC, the Museo del Calcio, the headquarters of the Italian Referees Association section of Florence and the sports judge of Florence.

Settignano is a frazione on a hillside northeast of Florence, Italy. The little borgo of Settignano carries a familiar name for having produced three sculptors of the Florentine Renaissance, Desiderio da Settignano and the Gamberini brothers, better known as Bernardo Rossellino and Antonio Rossellino. The young Michelangelo lived with a sculptor and his wife in Settignano—in a farmhouse that is now the "Villa Michelangelo"— where his father owned a marble quarry. In 1511 another sculptor was born there, Bartolomeo Ammannati. The marble quarries of Settignano produced this series of sculptors. Roman remains are to be found in the borgo which some have claimed was named after Settimio or Septimius Severus—in whose honor a statue was erected in the oldest square in the 16th century, destroyed in 1944— though habitation here long preceded the Roman emperor. The name may be a corruption from the term Fundus Septimianus.Settignano was a secure resort for estivation for members of the Guelf faction of Florence. Giovanni Boccaccio and Niccolò Tommaseo both appreciated its freshness, among the vineyards and olive groves that are the preferred setting for even the most formal Italian gardens.Mark Twain and his wife stayed at the Villa Viviani in Settignano from September 1892 to June 1893. While there, Twain wrote 1,800 pages including a first draft of Pudd'nhead Wilson. He said the villa "afford[ed] the most charming view to be found on this planet".In 1898, Gabriele d'Annunzio purchased the trecento Villa della Capponcina on the outskirts of Settignano, in order to be nearer to his lover Eleonora Duse, at the Villa Porziuncola. Near Settignano are the Villa Gamberaia, a 14th-century villa with an 18th-century terraced garden, and secluded Villa I Tatti, the villa of Bernard Berenson, now a center of Italian Renaissance studies run by Harvard University. In 2019 Carolyn McPherson said: "My family lived in Settignano in 1955 and 1956; I was 10. Many houses in the village were badly damaged, apparently by explosives. We were able to rent a villa about 1/4 of a mile from the entrance to the Villa Gamberaia. We were told that the Gamberaia had been headquarters for the Nazi command in Florence, and that the owner of our villa had been a collaborator with the Germans and thus was a persona non grata in the village. In 1955--10 years after the end of WWII--it was still possible to find large fragments of burned maps lying in the olive groves below the Gamberaia. We visited the famous gardens once; most of the trees and shrubs were dead, and the statuary broken".Settignano houses the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta with its artworks.
