The Cow Neck Peninsula is a peninsula in Nassau County, New York, on the North Shore of Long Island.

Sands Point Country Day School (also known as Sands Point Academy) was an elementary and high school (K-12) located in Sands Point, New York, from 1954 to 1974. The school was started by Marie L. Fetsch as a summer school and went to full-year operation in 1961. From 1962 to 1971, Benjamin Fine was headmaster of the school. In the July 31, 1972 issue of New York magazine, a lengthy article by Nicholas Gonzalez raised serious questions about the integrity of the school and its founder. In August, 1972, six families sued the school and its founder, alleging fraud. The school was sold in 1973, operated for one year as Elm Court school, and closed in 1974.

The Port Washington Tennis Academy, located on Long Island, New York. It was founded in 1966 as a non-profit tennis facility. John McEnroe (under coaches Tony Palafox and Stanley Matthews) and Vitas Gerulaitis developed their games here, and Australian coach Harry Hopman worked at the facility late in his life.

U.S. Post Office-Port Washington is a historic post office building located in Port Washington, in the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States.

Thomas Dodge Homestead is a historic home in Port Washington, Nassau County, New York. It is a settlement-era farmhouse dated to 1721 with additions completed in approximately 1750 and 1903. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, L-shaped, heavy timber-frame building sheathed with natural cedar wood shingles. The main block has a saltbox shape and there is a nearly square, 1+1⁄2-story gable-roofed wing. Also on the property are a contributing barn (1880), privy (1886), chicken coop, and shed. It is operated as a historic house museum by the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society, which has its headquarters in the Sands-Willets Homestead, another historic house museum. Thomas Dodge Homestead was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School (commonly Paul D. Schreiber High School or Schreiber High School) is a four-year public high school in Port Washington, in Nassau County, New York, United States. It is operated by the Port Washington Union Free School District. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,638 students and 129.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.6:1. There were 285 students (17.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 18 (1.1% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Baxter Estates is a village in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. It is considered part of the Greater Port Washington area, which is anchored by Port Washington. The population was 991 at the 2020 census.The Incorporated Village of Baxter Estates is located on the Cow Neck Peninsula, within the Town of North Hempstead, and is recognized as a Tree City USA.

Port Washington is the terminus of the Long Island Rail Road's Port Washington Branch in Port Washington, New York. The station is located on Main Street, between Haven Avenue and South Bayles Avenue, just west of Port Washington Boulevard (NY 101), and is 19.9 miles (32 km) from Pennsylvania Station in Midtown Manhattan. A pedestrian bridge exists between the platforms, and is in line with Franklin Avenue, ending at Haven Avenue.

It is considered part of the Greater Port Washington area, which is anchored by Port Washington. The population was 3,154 at the 2010 census. The Incorporated Village of Port Washington North is located on the Cow Neck Peninsula, within the Town of North Hempstead.
