Eilsum

Jennelt is a village in the region of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is part of the municipality of Krummhörn. The village is located to the east of Visquard and to the south of Eilsum. Jennelt was built on a warft and already mentioned as Gein Leth in the 8th/9th century. Other early spellings include Geenlede, Jennlede, Jennlete, and Jennlet. In the last half of the 13th century, the Church of Jennelt was built on the western side of the elongated village.

Uttum is a village in the region of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is part of the municipality of Krummhörn. The village is located to the northeast of Pewsum. Uttum used to be a seat of East Frisian chieftains, seated at Uttum Castle. The meaning of the village's name is presumably home of Otte or Utte. The Evangelical Reformed Church of Uttum dates from the 13th century and is home to an organ that was made in around 1655.

Visquard is a village in the region of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is part of the municipality of Krummhörn. The village is located to the north of Pewsum and to the south of Greetsiel. The village church dates from the 13th century. To the northwest of Visquard lay the Appingen Abbey, of which currently only a small hamlet remains.

Leybuchtpolder is part of the borough of Norden in East Frisia on Germany's North Sea coast and was an independent municipality until 1972. Leybuchtpolder is geologically the most recent of Norden's parishes and has 461 inhabitants. Between 1947 and 1950 the polder was finally reclaimed from the North Sea, when the almost 5 km long Störtebeker Dyke was completed. A monument stands on the spot where the dyke was closed. Administratively Leybuchtpolder is the second most recent parish after Tidofeld, which did not become a separate parish until 1996.

Cirkwehrum is a small village in the region of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Administratively, it is an Ortsteil of the municipality of Hinte, of which it is located to the northwest. Cirkwehrum is about 8 kilometers to the north of Emden. There was a borg near the village in the 14th century. This castle was destroyed by Ocko II tom Brok, when he made an almost successful attempt to gain control of the whole of East Frisia. The village church from that time has now also disappeared. The current church dates from 1751.

Appingen Abbey (German: Kloster Appingen) is a former Carmelite monastery in the parish of Greetsiel, which is dedicated to Saint Mary. It was named after the village of the same name.

Canum is a village in the region of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is part of the municipality of Krummhörn. The village is located just to the east of Pewsum. The village is built on a warft. It is already mentioned in 950 as Caninghem. The village church was built in the middle of the warft in the 13th century.

Freepsum is a village in the region of East Frisia in Lower Saxony, Germany. The village has 437 inhabitants (2006) and lies about ten kilometres northwest of the seaport of Emden. It is part of the municipality of Krummhörn Freepsum was an independent parish until the foundation of the municipality of Krummhörn as part of the Lower Saxony municipal reforms in 1972. Today the village is one of the 19 parishes in the Krummhörn, as the municipality is colloquially called. Immediately southeast of the village is the Freepsum Sea or Freepsumer Meer, a former inland lake that has since been drained. The lowest point of the resulting hollow was for a long time the lowest point in Germany, at 2.5 metres below sea level, but has since been superseded in that respect by a point in Neuendorf-Sachsenbande which has officially been measured at 3.5 metres below Normalnull. The Church of Freepsum was built in the 13th century.

Pewsum is a village in the municipality of Krummhörn in the west of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Pewsum is both the administrative seat as well as the trade and craft centre of the municipality. The number of inhabitants was 3,352 in 2006 and the village lies at a height of 0 m above sea level (NN).

Wirdum is a municipality in the district of Aurich, in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Groß Midlum is a village in the region of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Administratively, it is an Ortsteil of the municipality of Hinte, of which it is located to the west. Groß Midlum is about 5 kilometers to the north of Emden. The addition Groß ("large") distinguishes the village from the smaller Midlum in nearby Rheiderland. The village, built on a warft, was first mentioned in the 10th century. It has a medieval church from the 13th century.

Neuwesteel is part of the borough of Norden in East Frisia in the northwest of the German state of Lower Saxony. It is the third most recent quarter after Tidofeld and Leybuchtpolder, because it was only founded on 11 July 1934. On the terrain of the present parish lay the village of Westeel which was submerged in 1373 when the Leybucht bay flooded the area. Parts of the Leybucht were then dyked over the course of the centuries. In earlier centuries this was done manually and using spades, which is why the spade forms part of the Neuwesteel coat of arms. In the years 1928 and 1929 the roughly 600-hectare Leypolder was dyked. On this polder has stood the village of Neuwesteel since 1934. Initially it was part of the municipality of Süderpolder. On 1 October the whole municipality of Süderpolder was renamed Neuwesteel. The municipality of Neuwesteel became part of the collective municipality of Leybucht in 1965. As part of the territorial reforms in Lower Saxony in 1972 Neuwesteel was incorporated into the borough of Norden. As an incorporated subdistrict Neuwesteel still has a parish chairman (Ortsvorsteher), who represents the concerns of the roughly 340 inhabitants to the borough of Norden. Because the dyked polder soil is very fertile, the region was used from the very beginning for agricultural purposes. Cattle farming and crops predominate, especially the cultivation of potatoes. In Neuwesteel is the Leybucht Pumping Station, part of the Drainage Association of Norden, which ensures that the lower lying areas are drained via the Norder Tief. In addition to the pumping station is a campsite. Because there are no bridges for several kilometres along the Norder Tief, the river may be crossed in Neuwesteel on a Pünte, a type of raft. However, it is only for pedestrians and cyclists.
