The Sports Arena also known as the Tigers Trust Arena (formerly the Airco Arena the Bonus Arena, Gemtec Arena and the Vulcan Arena) is a sports centre located next to the MKM Stadium in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The arena was built at the same time as the KC Stadium and is a multisport arena used by many people in and around Hull. It is used by many of the city's schools, colleges and universities and is a popular place for association football or other sport tournaments to take place, including The Tigers 5-A-Side Tournament. It is also used for many other events such as Fares and Model Shows such as the Fairground model show. Until 2012 it was also the home for the NBL Division 4 basketball team, the Hull Wasps. However, the Wasps moved to the Ennerdale Lesure Centre before the 2012–13 season citing the increase charges for use of the Sports Arena as the main reason. The 2013–14 season will see the return of NBL basketball to the Sports Arena as the home the Kingston Panthers. It is also an accredited Handball facility.The main hall of the arena is 54 metres (177 ft) x 33 metres (108 ft) with a height of 9 metres (30 ft).The venue is frequently used for shows by acclaimed wrestling promotion New Generation Wrestling.

The Carnegie Heritage Centre is a grade II listed building in Hull, England, which was designed as a Carnegie library.Originally known as the Carnegie Free Library, the building opened in 1905 as Hull's fifth branch library. Andrew Carnegie donated £3,000 towards its construction. It is situated at the gates of West Park, and is unusual among Carnegie libraries for its half-timbered construction (although not unique, there is a similar building in Stratford-upon-Avon). It was used as a public library until 2003. Library services were then provided in a Learning Centre within the adjacent KC Stadium, and the former library had various uses and was then left empty. The Carnegie Heritage Action Team was created in 2006 to rescue the building and create a centre for local and family history resources. The centre opened in August 2008, and is now run by the Carnegie Heritage Centre ltd. The centre received material from the local history collections of Hull College when the college's local history unit closed down, and the East Yorkshire Family History Society rents space in the centre to house its research material. A bindery operates from the premises, and a variety of local history events take place including WEA courses in local history.

Wenlock Barracks is a military installation on Anlaby Road in Kingston upon Hull, England.

The Humber derby is an association football rivalry between Grimsby Town, Hull City and Scunthorpe United. It is a geographical rivalry as all three clubs are based on the banks of the Humber Estuary, England. Hull is situated on the northern bank in the East Riding of Yorkshire, whilst Grimsby and Scunthorpe are both situated on the southern bank in Lincolnshire. Between 1 April 1974 and 31 March 1996, this entire area was a ceremonial county in its own right, known as Humberside. The derby was first contested in a competitive fixture on 16 December 1905 when Hull City hosted Grimsby Town in the league, with the match ending 1–0 to Grimsby. As of the 2024–25 season, Hull compete in the EFL Championship, Grimsby compete in EFL League Two and Scunthorpe compete in the National League North.

The MKM Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kingston upon Hull, England. It has a current capacity of 25,586. The stadium is home to both association football club Hull City A.F.C. of the EFL Championship and rugby league club Hull F.C. of the Super League.It was previously known as the KC Stadium, but was renamed the KCOM Stadium as part of a major rebrand on 4 April 2016 by the stadium's sponsor KCOM. In June 2021, it was renamed to its current name, the MKM Stadium, as part of a five-year sponsorship with MKM Building Supplies. During UEFA competitions, the stadium is known as the Hull City Stadium due to sponsorship regulations. Conceived in the late 1990s, it was completed in 2002 at a cost of approximately £44 million. The stadium is owned by Hull City Council and operated by the Stadium Management Company (SMC), who have previously considered expanding the stadium capacity up to 34,000. The bowl-shaped stadium contains a continuous single tier of seats with a second tier on the west side.The stadium occasionally hosts international association football and rugby league competitions and acts as a venue for concerts by musical artists. Previous performances at the stadium include Elton John and The Who.

The Circle was a cricket ground on Anlaby Road in Kingston upon Hull, which hosted 89 first-class matches from 1899 to 1974. Two other matches were rained off without a ball being bowled. Most of the matches were County Championship games featuring Yorkshire County Cricket Club, but matches against touring teams from India, Australia, South Africa and University games were also played there. 19 List A one day games were also played at the venue from 1969 to 1990. The ground was also used by Hull City A.F.C. and Hull and East Riding RUFC.

Hymers College is a co-educational independent day school in Kingston upon Hull, located on the site of the old Botanical Gardens. It is one of the leading schools in the East Riding of Yorkshire and a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference.The school was founded following the death in 1887 of the Revd Dr John Hymers, Rector of Brandesburton, who left a substantial sum in his will for the founding of a school "for the training of intelligence in whatever social rank of life it may be found among the vast and varied population of the town and port of Hull". Construction of the buildings was completed in 1893, and the first pupils arrived in September of that year. The school, initially open only to boys, expanded to include girls incrementally from the 1970s, becoming fully co-educational in 1989.Presently, Hymers educates about 950 pupils aged 4–18 across the Pre-School, Junior and Senior Schools, with about 100 members of the teaching staff. The two major intakes of pupils are at age 4, into Year 1, age 7, into Year 3, and age 11, into Year 7. Additionally, some pupils enter at 14, into Year 10, and some at 16, into the Sixth Form. Old Hymerians include several prominent sportspeople, diplomats, academics and politicians, including the physicist Dr Edward Milne MBE FRS, who worked on the problem of the expanding universe, alongside Albert Einstein.

Hull Botanical Gardens were established in 1812 on a 5-acre (2.0 ha) site near what is now called Linnaeus Street, Hull, England.In 1877 they moved to a 49-acre (20 ha) site in Spring Bank, Hull, but closed in 1889 due to financial difficulty. In 1893 the site became the location of Hymers College. The Hull Botanic Gardens railway station is a disused railway station named after the nearby gardens.

Anlaby Road was a sports venue in Hull. The ground was used for football club Hull City between 1906 and 1939. The record attendance was 32,000 in a FA Cup game against Newcastle United. The stands were bombed during the Second World War but Hull City used the site for training and reserve matches until 1965, when a railway line was built over the pitch.

The Boulevard academy is a coeducational secondary school located in Kingston upon Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.It opened as a free school in September 2013, and was rated as 'outstanding' by Ofsted in 2015.

The Boulevard was a multi-purpose stadium in Hull, England. The venue was saved from demolition and reopened on 25 October 2007 as the home of greyhound racing in the city. There were plans for it to be used as a community stadium hosting rugby league matches and speedway, but it eventually closed and was demolished in August 2010.

Hull General Cemetery was established by a private company in 1847 on Spring Bank (now Spring Bank West) in the west of Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. In 1862 the Hull Corporation established a cemetery adjacent, now known as Western Cemetery, and in c. 1890 expanded the cemetery west across Chanterlands Avenue onto an adjacent site. The General Cemetery contains several notable monument and burials, including a monument to a cholera outbreak in 1849, as well as the graves of many notable persons of the Victoria era and early 20th century of Kingston upon Hull. The General Cemetery closed in 1972, the Western Cemetery is, as of 2018, still in use. In 2018, a community group of volunteers, The Friends of Hull General Cemetery, was formed and have taken on the challenge of caring for this heritage site of special natural interest. The group was formed as a subcommittee of the Hull Civic Society. It meets regularly at the Avenues Centre, Park Avenue, Hull. During its short life it has generated a significant amount of interest in the cemetery from the general public and plans are afoot to bid for local and national funding to make the cemetery a more hospitable place for the community to visit yet still retain its historical significance and environmental importance for future generations.
