Aboite, Indiana

Vermilyea Inn Historic District is a national historic district located near Fort Wayne in Aboite Township, Allen County, Indiana. The district encompasses one contributing building, the Jesse Vermilyea House, and three contributing structures. The house was built in 1839, and is a two-story, three-bay, Federal style brick dwelling. It has an original two-story, four-bay, gable roofed wing, a 1+1⁄2-story wood and brick garage addition built about 1945, and a 1+1⁄2-story brick addition built about 2000. The other contributing resources are the visible earthworks of the Wabash and Erie Canal and the timber platform of the canal aqueduct. Its builder, Jesse Vermilyea, opened his house as an inn and tavern and operated as such through the 19th century.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Snyderman House was a widely published single-family residence in Fort Wayne, Indiana, designed for Sanford and Joy Snyderman in 1972 by architect Michael Graves. Celebrated in both the architectural and popular press as a tour-de-force of late modernism, it was a splendid example of Graves' imaginative, sophisticated work. It stood, along with Graves' Hanselman House, Richard Meier's New Harmony Athenaeum —which was related to the Snyderman House—and the buildings of Columbus, Indiana, as national icons of modern architecture located in the state of Indiana (Graves' home state).

WOWO (1190 AM) – branded News/Talk WOWO 92.3 FM 1190 AM – is a commercial talk radio station licensed to Fort Wayne, Indiana, serving primarily the Fort Wayne metropolitan area. Currently owned by Federated Media via licensee Pathfinder Communications, WOWO serves as the Fort Wayne affiliate for: Fox News Radio, The Glenn Beck Program, The Dan Bongino Show, The Sean Hannity Show, The Buck Sexton Show, Coast to Coast AM; and was the flagship station for the Fort Wayne Komets. The WOWO studios are located at the transmitter site for sister station WKJG on Maples Road in Fort Wayne, while the station transmitter resides in Roanoke. Besides its main analog transmission, WOWO broadcasts over an in-band on-channel HD Radio signal; simulcasts over both analog Fort Wayne translator W298BJ (107.5 FM) and the HD2 digital subchannel of WMEE; and streams online with availability on the iHeartRadio platform. WOWO is one of three primary entry point stations for Fort Wayne in the Emergency Alert System. Historically, the station is perhaps best known for having been a clear-channel station with extended nighttime skywave range from 1941 until 1999; it was downgraded to a Class B AM signal after a 1995 ownership transfer briefly put it under common ownership with WLIB in New York City. WOWO was also the first radio station in the world to broadcast a live basketball game, and the first station to be acquired by Westinghouse Electric Corporation subsidiary Westinghouse Broadcasting, which owned the station from 1936 to 1982. WOWO's call letters are usually phonetically pronounced on-air as "Wo-Wo", rhyming with "go-go."

Fort Wayne Assembly is an automobile factory in Roanoke, Indiana. Opened in 1986 by General Motors, the 4,600,000 sq ft (430,000 m2) plant produces vehicles on the company's GMT T1XX vehicle platform. Facilities include 2 body shops, a paint shop, general assembly, and sequence center. It assumed operations of the former Pontiac Truck and Bus Assembly. WRNP (94.1 FM) is a non-commercial FM gospel radio station licensed to Roanoke, Indiana, serving the Fort Wayne area. It is owned by Taylor University Broadcasting, and airs an urban gospel radio format, known as "Rhythm & Praise 94.1". Taylor University also operates a network of contemporary Christian music stations in the region led by WBCL (90.3 FM). Prior to being WRNP, 94.1 operated as a commercial radio station from 1990 to 2007 and as WBNI-FM, a classical radio station owned by Northeast Indiana Public Radio, from 2007 to 2021.

Lafayette Township is one of twenty townships in Allen County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,354.

Southwest Allen County Schools (SACS) is a school district in Indiana serving the townships of Aboite and Lafayette in Allen County, including the areas incorporated into Fort Wayne. SACS has six elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one virtual school serving middle- and high-school students. Its current superintendent is Park D. Ginder. Elementary students are sometimes taken on field trips to Center School, a historic one-room schoolhouse and the chief symbol of the district, and may also visit the Allen County Courthouse, in order to learn about their local judiciary system.

Homestead Senior High School, in Fort Wayne, United States, is a public four-year high school. Part of Southwest Allen County Schools, the school receives accreditation from the Indiana Department of Education and the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

Center School, sometimes called the Old Center School, is a historic one-room schoolhouse in Allen County, Indiana. It was built in 1893 at the center of Aboite Township, and became the foundation of Southwest Allen County Schools.Center School was closed in 1946, as a part of Indiana's increased consolidation of small schools, but in 1969, a new teacher was instated with the official title of schoolmarm, and it was reopened as a site for history classes.Originally constructed at what is now the intersection between Homestead Road and Aboite Center Road, in June 1993 the building was physically relocated eastward along Aboite Center by three-tenths of a mile, and was restored in the summer of 1995. The restoration won the 1995 Archie Award from the Arch Foundation.Center School is built of local brick, and has a slate roof with copper ridge caps. The interior features arches and oak woodwork, which, along with the floor, have been restored. The structure is topped with a copper-capped belfry, the likeness of which is used as the logo of Southwest Allen County Schools.

Roanoke Station is an unincorporated community in Jackson Township, Huntington County, Indiana. Roanoke Station began as a depot outside Roanoke, and thus acquired its name.
