McLean station (preliminary names Tysons East, Tysons–McLean) is a Washington Metro station in Fairfax County, Virginia, on the Silver Line. The station is located in Tysons, with a McLean postal address. It began operation on July 26, 2014.

Capital One Tower is a high-rise office building in Capital One Center, a mixed-use development adjacent to the McLean station in Tysons, Virginia. Capital One Tower is the tallest occupied building in the Washington metropolitan area at 470 feet (143 m) in height and the second-tallest building in Virginia. Ground was broken on the tower in November 2014 and it was completed in 2018. It is the headquarters of Capital One. Capital One Tower is one of many skyscrapers that have been constructed for the urbanization project in Tysons, Virginia. When complete, Capital One Center will contain over 5 million square feet of development, including a 1.2 acre public skypark, performing arts center, hotel, Wegmans supermarket, restaurants, and other retail.

The International Tennis Club of Washington plays real tennis on Prince's Court at the Regency Sport and Health Club in McLean, Virginia, 6 miles (10 km) from Washington, D.C. Dedicated on October 11, 1997, Prince's is the only new real tennis venue to be constructed in the United States since the Racquet Club of Chicago was built in 1923. (The Chicago court has since been renovated and renewed.) The court, named after financial supporter and club co-founder Frederick H. Prince, features an 18 foot (5.5 m) high main wall made of plate glass giving spectators an unrivalled view of play. Unusual features of the court include a large gong hung in the last gallery. The head professional at Prince's Court is Ivan Ronaldson, whose father was formerly head professional at Hampton Court Palace. The assistant professional is Phil Shannon.

The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) is a United States government organization responsible for national and international counterterrorism efforts. It is based in Liberty Crossing, a modern complex near Tysons Corner in McLean, Virginia. NCTC advises the United States on terrorism. Part of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the center brings together specialists from other federal agencies, including the CIA, the FBI, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security.

The National Counterproliferation and Biosecurity Center (NCBC) is the primary organization within the United States Intelligence Community for combating the spread of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems.NCBC works with the Intelligence Community (IC) to identify critical intelligence gaps in counter-proliferation collection or analysis and then develops solutions to help close those gaps. NCBC also works to find and fund new technologies to help combat proliferation. Additionally, NCBC works to identify "over the horizon" proliferation concerns and creates strategies to ensure that the IC is well-positioned to address them.

Lewinsville is an unincorporated community in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. Traditionally, the center of Lewinsville has been located at the crossroads of Lewinsville and Chain Bridge Roads. Together with Langley, Lewinsville forms the census-designated place of McLean. During the Civil War, on Wednesday, September 11, 1861, the Battle of Lewinsville was fought here between the Union Army and the Confederate Army. Casualties for the Union were three dead and some wounded, while casualties for the Confederates were none.

Tycon Center is a development at 8000 Towers Crescent Drive in Vienna, VA, built and initially owned by developers James T. Lewis, Roy Mitchell and Don Moore, known as Tycon Development The complex is also known as Tycon Towers 1 and consists of a postmodern 17-story brick clad building designed by John Burgee Architects with Philip Johnson.

Tysons Corner Center is a shopping mall in the unincorporated area of Tysons in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States (between McLean and Vienna, Virginia). It opened to the public in 1968, becoming one of the first fully enclosed, climate-controlled shopping malls in the Washington metropolitan area. The mall's three department store anchors are Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and Nordstrom. Tysons Corner Center is the largest mall in the Baltimore-Washington area, and the 22nd largest in the United States. The mall is located 12.5 miles (20.1 km) from the central business district of Washington D.C., and neighbors a second mall, Tysons Galleria, across Chain Bridge Road. To distinguish the two, some people refer to Tysons Corner Center as "Tysons I," and Tysons Galleria as "Tysons II."

Tysons Galleria is a three-level super-regional mall owned by Brookfield Properties located at 2001 International Drive in Tysons, Virginia. It is the second-largest mall in Tysons, and one of the largest in the Washington metropolitan area.

Pimmit Hills is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States, a neighborhood within a densely populated urban area. The name derives from Pimmit Run , the stream that was named for John Pimmit.

Stratford University was a private university based in Virginia. Founded in 1976, Stratford delivered online, classroom, and blended online/classroom programs. It closed at the end of the Fall 2022 semester after losing its accreditation.Stratford University had campuses in Virginia (Alexandria, Woodbridge,) Maryland (Baltimore), and India (New Delhi). The majority of the student body was non-traditional and worked full-time while attending school. Stratford's international student body represented over thirty countries. Approximately 20 percent of the student body was international and 20 percent was military. The Stratford campus in India was a joint venture with the Modi Group, created to offer residential American degrees in India. The legal name of the Indian joint venture is Modi Stratford Education Management (MSEM), Pvt. Ltd. The Modi Stratford Foundation, a wholly owned non-profit subsidiary of MSEM, delivered the academic programs in India as an unaccredited campus of Stratford University.Stratford had been for-profit and in 2015, it converted to a public benefit corporation Stratford university closed operations due to bankruptcy on February 2023.

Fairfax Square is an upscale mixed-use development located directly south of Tysons Corner Center across Leesburg Pike in Tysons Corner, Virginia. It includes 400,000 sq ft (37,160 m2) of Class A office space, primarily occupied by financial tenants such as American Express, Merrill Lynch, and New York Life, and high-end ground-floor retail among its three identical high-rises. Fairfax Square was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Its buildings are clad in Brazilian granite, and its lobbies are finished with Italian marble and wood paneling. Ground was broken for the development in 1988. The complex replaced a KMart store and its parking lot. When it opened in 1990, the Tiffany & Co. store at Fairfax Square was the largest outside of New York with 14,500 sq ft (1,350 m2) of retail space. Hermès has its only Washington metropolitan area store in Fairfax Square and doubled its retail space after a reopening in 2006 due to store consistently outperforming the rest of the U.S. market. The Tiffany store in this location is twice as large as its newer counterpart on Wisconsin Avenue. Fendi opened its fourth store in the nation at Fairfax Square, but it has closed; Fendi has opened a boutique within Saks Fifth Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Fendi does, however, have a Fendi Casa showroom nearby in Washington. The Equinox fitness facility replaced an 8-screen movie theater, which closed in 2007, shortly after a 16-screen theater opened in Tyson's Corner Center.
