The Beijing Bailie University (BBU; Chinese: 北京培黎职业学院; pinyin: Běijīng Péilí zhíyè xuéyuàn), previously known in English as Peili Vocational Institute, is a university in Beijing. Founded in May, 1983, the Beijing Bailie University is one of the earliest non-governmental institutions of higher education officially approved by the Beijing Municipal People's Government, and documented by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a full-time vocational college for various professional training, including foreign language, computing, law, accounting, international business, art, and hospitality departments. BBU's qualified to issue independently diplomas and certificates which are recognized by the Chinese government. There are currently more than 7,000 students in total.

Beijing Forestry University (BFU, Chinese: 北京林业大学) is a national public university located in Beijing, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and the Beijing Municipal People's Government. The university is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Construction. Beijing Forestry University (BFU) has a history that dates back to 1902 when the Forestry Section of the Agriculture Department of the Imperial University of Peking was established. Beijing Forestry University provides a wide range of courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Biology, Computer science, Economics, Electronics, Environmental Science, Forestry, Languages, Laws, Management, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. To share its environmental friendly mind to the world, the university is now providing modern technologies for people to protect the earth. In 2011, it participated in the establishment of Beijing high-tech university alliance with 11 other universities with industry characteristics.

China Agricultural University (CAU; 中国农业大学) is a public university in Haidian, Beijing, China. The university is affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China. It is part of Project 211, Project 985, and the Double First-Class Construction. The university was formed in 1995 through the merger of the Beijing Agricultural University and the Beijing Agricultural Engineering University, which evolved from one of the earliest agriculture institutions in China founded in 1905. As of December 2019, CAU offers 66 undergraduate majors and over 32 masters and 21 doctoral programs. There are around 12,000 undergraduate and 8,900 graduate students. Among them, 508 students are international. Its gymnasium hosted the wrestling events during the 2008 Summer Olympics.

The China Agricultural University Gymnasium (simplified Chinese: 中国农业大学体育馆; traditional Chinese: 中國農業大學體育館; pinyin: Zhōngguó Nóngyè Dàxué Tǐyùguǎn) is an indoor arena located on the campus of the China Agricultural University in Beijing. It hosted the wrestling events of the 2008 Summer Olympics. The Gymnasium's rooftop has a staggered, stair-like design. It covers an area of 23,950 square metres and has a capacity of 8,200 which was reduced to 6,000 after the events. It was also turned into a sports complex for students of the China Agricultural University after the Olympic Games. Construction started the first half of 2005 and was completed in July 2007.

Liudaokou station (Chinese: 六道口站; pinyin: Liùdàokǒu zhàn) is an interchange station on Line 15 and Changping line of the Beijing Subway. The station for Line 15 was opened on December 28, 2014. The station for Changping line opened on February 4, 2023.

Xisanqi Subdistrict (Chinese: 西三旗街道; pinyin: Xīsānqí Jiēdào) is a subdistrict inside of Haidian District, Beijing, China. It borders Huilongguan and Huoying Subdistricts to the north, Dongxioakou and Dongsheng Towns to the east, Aoyuncun Subdistrict to the south, and Qinghe Subdistrict to the west. Its population was 157,643 in 2020.The name Xisanqi (Chinese: 西三旗; lit. 'West Three Banners') referred to the designation of the army stationed here during the Ming dynasty.

Qinghe Subdistrict (Chinese: 清河街道; pinyin: Qīnghé Jiēdào; lit. 'clear river') is a subdistrict of northeastern Haidian District, Beijing, located just outside the 5th Ring Road near that highway's interchange with G6 Beijing–Lhasa Expressway. As of 2020, it had a population of 147,395 under its administration. People's Liberation Army Rocket Force is headquartered in Qinghe Subdistrict. The name Qinghe (Chinese: 清河; lit. 'Clear River') came from a town that was located within the subdistrict.

The China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT; 中国矿业大学) is a public university located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, and co-sponsored with the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Emergency Management. The university is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Construction. China University of Mining and Technology has two individual entities: the main entity is located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, which is called the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), and a second entity is located in Beijing, known as the China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing. The latter used to be the Graduate School of CUMT. CUMT is a leading multi-disciplinary polytechnic university with mining features.

Qinghe Xiaoyingqiao station (Chinese: 清河小营桥站; pinyin: Qīnghé Xiǎoyíngqiáo zhàn) is a subway station on the Changping line of the Beijing Subway. It opened on 4 February 2023. The station is reserved for a potential cross-platform transfer with Line 19 in the future.

Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU; Chinese: 北京语言大学; pinyin: Běijīng Yǔyán Dàxué) is a public university of linguistics in Beijing, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China.The university has the main aim of teaching the Chinese language and culture to foreign students. However, it also takes Chinese students specializing in foreign languages and other relevant subjects of humanities and social sciences, and trains teachers of Chinese as a foreign language. It used to be the only institute of this kind in China. After the push for massification of higher education starting in the 90s, nowadays many other universities in almost every major city in China have a similar offer. Thus bachelor, master or post-doc degrees in "Teaching Chinese as a second language to Foreigners", as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in several foreign languages, are no longer only to be found at BLCU.Beijing Language and Culture University is often called "Little United Nations" in China because of its very large number of international students from various countries. As of 2022, there are approximately 9,000 international students in its campus, ranking first in China.As of 2020, Beijing Language and Culture University ranked no.5 nationwide among universities specialized on languages teaching and research in the recent edition of a recognized Best Chinese Universities Ranking, the sub-ranking of Shanghai Ranking.

The Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences (IIIS, Chinese: 清华大学交叉信息研究院) is a research institute at Tsinghua University in Beijing, which conducts interdisciplinary research in computer science and quantum physics.

At around 2:40 AM on June 16, 2002, a fire broke out at a two-story internet cafe in Haidian district, Beijing. 25 people died and 13 others were injured. Many of the dead and injured people were university students. The fire was the deadliest fire in Beijing in over 50 years. The fire was an arson; four youngsters were punished for the crime.
